One night stand with my president(chapter 657)

Chapter 657: You Are Clearly Sulking

"You'd actually use that to threaten me?"

Harrison raised his hand and pinched her cheek.

"So ruthless?"

He had finally managed to improve Isaac Mendoza's opinion of him.

If Adeline really went and tattled to Isaac, his future father-in-law might just jump out of his hospital bed to beat him up.

"Hehe, are you scared?"

Adeline was actually just bluffing.

Isaac wasn't fully recovered yet, so how could she go and say something like that to him? Besides... from what she knew, Isaac had a very good impression of Harrison now.

Even if she really went to Isaac to complain, he probably wouldn't believe her.

And it made sense. Everyone around them saw how Harrison treated her.

If someone said she bullied Harrison, they would believe it.

Harrison bullying her? Impossible. They wouldn't believe that for a second.

"I'm scared," Harrison said, playing along with her. "So, next time, you're coming to the office with me."

"Deal!"

Adeline nodded and added, "Once everything here is settled and Dad is discharged, let's go back to Orianto."

Staying in Yewhaina indefinitely wasn't a solution.

There were things waiting for them back home too.

After she said this, she noticed Harrison's dark eyes staring at her unblinkingly.

"What?"

"What will we do after we go back?" he asked.

Adeline was puzzled. "What else is there to do? Naturally, we'll visit the family first. We'll go see Grandpa Lorenzo, then visit my aunt... and then, there's plentv of work waiting for us at the company. I remember we're launching a new project next month.

“Oh right, there's also that detestable Benjamin-he still hasn't been caught...”

She rambled on about various things-family matters, company matters, matters concerning their enemies.

She covered everything except what Harrison wanted to hear.

After talking for a while, Adeline finally realized something was off with Harrison.

His expression wasn't great, and he hadn't spoken for a long time.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

Harrison sat up and said indifferently, "Nothing."

"Don't give me that. You call this 'nothing'?" Adeline grabbed his arm. "You are clearly sulking."

Harrison remained silent, so Adeline, in a fit of pique, pounced on him and bit his lip hard.

She actually used quite a bit of force.

Harrison frowned in pain, but he couldn't bear to push her away, waiting instead for her to let go on her own.

"We agreed, remember?" Adeline shook his arm.

"If something is wrong, we communicate immediately. Did you forget?"

Harrison certainly hadn't forgotten.

But he just wanted to sulk for a bit.

And he really was quite angry.

She had talked so much, considering every aspect, yet she hadn't given a single thought to their wedding after returning to the country...

They had clearly discussed it before.

Of course, Harrison would respect her. If Adeline didn't want to get married yet, he would certainly wait for her, waiting until the day she was ready.

But she didn't even mention it.

Harrison felt a tightness in his chest.

"Say something."

"It's nothing," Harrison said. "I'm going to see Connie."

With that, he stood up and pulled his arm out of Adeline's grasp.

Adeline: ".."

She kicked Harrison in anger

"You're being ridiculous!"

After saying that, she got up too and stormed out of the room first.

Harrison watched her retreating figure, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly.

He was the one who was angry...

So why did it seem like she was even angrier? He rubbed his forehead helplessly and followed her.

Adeline arrived at Connie's hospital room first.

Alberto was currently keeping Connie company while they watched a movie.

When Adeline entered, Alberto greeted her and then busied himself asking Connie, "Do you want some more water?"

Connie shook her head. She could tell at a glance that something was wrong with Adeline.

She hurriedly signaled Alberto with her eyes.

"Hmm?"

Alberto's attention was entirely on Connie.

He completely failed to notice Adeline's mood.

Connie signaled him again, but he still didn't catch on.

Connie glared at him, exasperated at his denseness, then smiled at Adeline. "Adeline, what's wrong?"

"Nothing," Adeline mumbled, keeping her head down.

Just as she finished speaking, Harrison walked in.

She glanced at Harrison, then immediately looked away.

Seeing this, Connie understood immediately.

So, the young couple was having a quarrel.

This was something she couldn't interfere with.

Harrison expressed his regards to Connie.

Connie thanked him again.

Then, Connie said meaningfully, "It's getting late. You should take Adeline home to rest."

"Okay," Harrison nodded slightly.

He walked over to Adeline, but just as he was about to speak, Adeline said to Alberto and Connie, "Alberto, Connie, I'm leaving now. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay," Alberto said. "Everything will be fine. Go home and get some rest."

Then, ignoring Harrison completely, Adeline turned and walked out.

A smile of indulgence curled Harrison's lips as he hurriedly chased after her.

Only after the two of them had left did Alberto belatedly realize something was off.

"Why did the atmosphere between them feel so weird?" Alberto stroked his chin, pondering. "Did they have a fight?"

"Oh, you." Connie poked his forehead helplessly.

"You just noticed? You really are oblivious."

Alberto laughed. "I just didn't expect that they would argue too."

"It's fine. It's normal for couples to fight. I'm guessing they'll make up before long," Connie said. "Anyway, Mr. Thomson certainly couldn't bear to break up with Adeline."

Alberto suddenly felt a chill down his spine..

He asked meekly, "You aren't hinting at something about me, are you?"

Previously, he and Connie... had indeed broken up.

Connie smiled ominously. "What do you think?"

"I was wrong, I was really wrong." Alberto quickly hugged her. "I swear to you, from now on, no matter what happens, I will absolutely never leave you."

Thinking back now, if he hadn't broken up with Connie back then, he wouldn't have tried to drown his sorrows in alcohol, wouldn't have gotten blackout drunk and been helped to a hotel by Monica, and wouldn't have given the Mason family a chance to scheme against him.

Everything that happened recently wouldn't have occurred.

Seeing how nervous he was, Connie burst out laughing.

"Alright, I'm not mad." She cupped his face.

"I wasn't entirely blameless back then, either. But after going through all this, I understand my heart better. Alberto, I truly can't be without you. No matter what happens, I don't want to be separated from you again."

Alberto's eyes stung, and he held Connie tightly in his arms.

"Yes, we will never be apart again."
