One night stand with my president(chapter 342)

Chapter 342: I Came to Find Adeline

Isaac and Gracie had just woken up not long ago.

As they walked down the stairs, they saw Adeline and Harrison walking in.

And trailing behind them was none other than Pedro.

Gracie couldn't help but twitch the corner of her mouth.

What kind of combination was this?

And to think, Harrison had actually come all the way to Yewhaina.

It was obvious that he came for Adeline.

Gracie felt a sense of satisfaction deep in her heart.

She had always known that Harrison wouldn't let her down.

"Mr. Mendoza, Mrs. Mendoza." Harrison greeted them with a warm smile. "Good morning."

After a brief moment of surprise, Isaac quickly regained his composure.

He walked up to Harrison, shook his hand, and then asked nonchalantly, "What brings you here?" Harrison didn't hide his intentions at all. "I came to find Adeline."

A tremor ran through Adeline's heart.

Isaac clicked his tongue and said, "You're only showing up now? Why not wait a few more years?"

Before he could finish his teasing, Gracie quickly interrupted, saying, "You just got to Yewhaina, didn't you? Come on. Take a seat. Breakfast's almost ready, so why don't you join us? Pedro you too. Let's all eat together."

After being ignored for so long, Pedro finally found a chance to speak up.

"Mr. Mendoza, Mrs. Mendoza," he said with some effort, "I was actually planning to take Adeline to one of my favorite breakfast spots, but then Mr. Thomson suddenly showed up."

Adeline was speechless.

She had not agreed to go with Pedro made it sound like Harrison had interrupted their plans.

Just as she was about to say something, Gracie smiled and said, "The breakfast is almost ready. Let's not go out for it. Come, let's head to the dining room."

After speaking, she shot Isaac a quick, pointed glare when no one was looking.

Isaac instantly understood her meaning.

For some reason, whenever he saw Harrison, Isaac felt the urge to tease him.

Maybe it was just the father-in-law's instinct to be skeptical of his son-in-law.

At that moment, Alberto also came downstairs.

Still half-asleep, Alberto thought he was still dreaming when he saw Harrison.

Only when Harrison greeted him did he snap back to reality.

After shaking hands with Harrison, Alberto

shared a brief, knowing glance with Adeline.

The group made their way to the dining room. As Adeline sat down, Pedro immediately moved to sit next to her on the left.

But Harrison was faster, taking the seat next to her before Pedro could.

Pedro then tried to sit on her right side, but when he turned, he saw Alberto had already claimed that spot.

Pedro was fuming, with nowhere to vent his anger.

"Pedro, come sit here," Gracie smiled at him and patted the chair beside her. "Come, sit next to me."

Reluctantly, Pedro sat beside Gracie.

He would have settled for sitting opposite Adeline, but of course, Gracie was already occupying that seat. In the end, he didn't even manage to get a spot opposite Adeline.

The maids brought out the breakfast, which was a lavish spread with both Yewhaina and Orianto food.

But Pedro couldn't bring himself to eat.

He took a sip of coffee, but it felt like a lump lodged in his throat.

And when he saw Harrison peeling an egg for Adeline and she actually ate it, he felt like the weight in his chest just got heavier.

If he had been sitting next to Adeline, he would have been the one peeling the egg for her.

He had been hoping to marry Adeline.

But now, Harrison appeared, clearly closer to Adeline than he was, and Gracie seemed to favor him.

After peeling the egg for Adeline, Harrison reached for his own cup of coffee.

As he took a sip, Harrison's brow furrowed slightly.

No one else noticed, but Adeline saw it right away.

She knew that Harrison didn't like the coffee here.

Despite thinking she should just let him drink what he didn't like, her heart and her hands betrayed her. She reached for a cup of milk and placed it in front of him.

"Try this. It should suit your taste better."

After setting the milk down, Adeline turned her head away, not looking at him.

Harrison's eyes softened with a smile.

"Alright."

Everyone at the table saw the small interaction between them.

Gracie smiled warmly; Isaac just snorted in response; and Alberto, who had been watching a drama, suddenly became lost in thought, his expression darkening.

He had once peeled an egg for a girl, too. But

then...

Pedro could no longer eat or even look at them.

He put his cup down with a frown and stood up.

"Gracie, I just remembered something need to take care of, so I'll be leaving now."

Before Gracie could respond, he had already walked off.

As he left, he shot a hostile glare at Harrison.

But Harrison didn't even acknowledge him.

Gracie sighed inwardly. Pedro must be upset, but she could do nothing. After all, Adeline didn't like him.

Adeline had known Harrison for more than five years, and Pedro for a single day. That couldn't compare.

After breakfast, Gracie made an excuse to leave and dragged Isaac out.

Alberto, still not feeling fully well, quickly retreated to his room, locking the door behind him.

The Mendoza family's maids seemed to have disappeared, too.

In the vast living room, only Harrison and Adeline were left.

Harrison had been waiting for this moment.

It felt like it had been forever since he had been alone with Adeline.

He had missed her so much.

Now that she was right in front of him, he couldn't resist pulling her into his arms.

And that was exactly what he did.

Before Adeline could react, he had her tightly in his embrace.

"Harrison, what are you doing?" she struggled, trying to push him away. "Let go of me."

"I won't," he said, holding her even tighter.

"Even if you hit me or yell at me, I won't let go."

Slowly, Adeline stopped struggling.

But Harrison could hear her soft sobs.

Panicked, he looked down and saw tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Don't cry," he whispered, gently stroking her hair. "It's all my fault."

"Harrison, you're such an idiot!" Adeline hit him lightly.

It hurt, but Harrison didn’t even flinch. Instead, he softly replied, “yes, I’m an idiot.”

Adeline had so much she wanted to say to him, but right now, all she could do was cry. Her sobs grew louder, and it broke Harrison’s heart.

“Oh, don’t cry, dear. How about you hit me?”

“I won’t,” Adeline sniffled. “My hands hurt.”

Harrison chuckled, asking, “Is it just your hands that hurt?”
