One night stand with my president(chapter 649)

Chapter 649:Ferry Is Not Alberto's Child

"I'm really fine," Lily Sparrow muttered. "I'm still young."

After saying this, she saw the corner of Russell Hunter's mouth twitch slightly.

Realizing her mistake, she quickly tried to salvage the situation. "Um, I didn't mean that you're old."

Lily wished she could sew her mouth shut.

Why did it feel like the more she explained, the worse it sounded?

"Alright, that's enough," Russell said. "Let's eat together. There's so much food; I can't finish it alone."

Lily looked at the amount of food in the lunch box and thought he was probably right.

When she was packing it, she had intended to pack just enough for one person. But then she thought, he should try this, and he might like that, and before she knew it, she had packed way too much.

Lily had only brought one set of cutlery, so Russell asked someone to bring another set and Russell asked someone to bring another set and shoved it into her hand.

She couldn't very well refuse.

The two of them sat in Russell's office, eating quietly.

During the meal, Russell's phone, which was placed on the side, lit up.

Lily noticed that his lock screen wallpaper had changed.

She froze for a moment.

Where did the photo of that woman go?

She knew it wasn't something she should be concerned about, but the more she tried not to care, the more she did.

Even after they finished eating, she was still thinking about it.

Watching Russell pick up his phone, her brain heated up, and she couldn't help but ask, "Why did you change your lock screen?"

As soon as the words left her mouth, she

regretted it.

She must be crazy, meddling with his phone wallpaper.

Russell's expression stiffened slightly.

Noticing this, Lily felt even more awkward and embarrassed. She hurriedly said, "I'm sorry. I-l didn't mean to pry into your privacy. I was just asking casually..."

"It's fine," Russell said indifferently. "The person in that photo... I used to like her. But she has a boyfriend now. I felt it wasn't appropriate to keep using her photo as my wallpaper, so I changed it."

In truth, he didn't need to explain so much to Lily.

But he felt that since she asked, he had nothing to hide.

"Oh... I see."

Lily lowered her eyes to hide the loneliness

Within them.

So that was the person he liked...

Aside from the loneliness, she actually felt a little happy.

Because she finally understood him a little better.

But the more she understood, the more her heart ached for him.

The person he liked didn't like him back.

And she already had a boyfriend.

"It's okay," Lily couldn't help but comfort him.

"You're so wonderful; you'll definitely meet someone who genuinely likes you in the future."

Russell smiled and shook his head. "I'm not thinking about that anymore."

Seeing him like this, Lily knew he definitely hadn't let that woman go yet.

She couldn't help but wonder, why didn't that woman like Russell? He's so good...

Daltoria, at the Mendoza family estate.

As soon as Monica woke up, she went to check on her son, Ferry.

When she arrived, a nanny was guarding the crib.

Ferry had nannies watching over him in shifts, twenty-four hours a day. If there was even the slightest abnormality, no matter the time, the nanny on duty would immediately report it to the Mendoza family.

This made Monica feel very at ease.

Seeing Monica enter, the nanny nodded gently to greet her.

Monica whispered, "Everything was fine last night?"

The nanny shook her head slightly to indicate no issues.

Monica smiled. Looking at her son sleeping soundly in the crib, she felt incredibly happy.

She hoped these days would last forever.

Leaving the nursery, Monica headed to the dining room for breakfast.

However, as soon as she walked in, she saw Gracie Mendoza and Adeline Hensley sitting at the table.

She paused for a moment before greeting them.

"Good morning, Auntie. Good morning, Adeline."

"Morning," Adeline smiled.

Monica pulled out a chair and sat down.

Then she noticed that the table in front of Gracie and Adeline was empty; there was no breakfast served yet.

Had they already finished? Or...

Just then, she heard Gracie order the maid standing nearby, "Bring the breakfast out."

"Yes, Madam."

Monica realized they hadn't eaten yet. But what were they doing sitting here? As soon as she arrived, Gracie ordered the food.

Were they... waiting for her?

But why?

The Mendoza family didn't have strict rules.

Usually, whoever woke up would eat whenever they wanted. If they happened to be together, they ate together. Why would Gracie and Adeline wait for her today?

Monica tried to suppress the uneasiness in her heart, telling herself she was definitely overthinking it.

Maybe Gracie and Adeline had just arrived as well.

Soon, the maids brought out various breakfast dishes.

While eating, Monica couldn't help but glance in Gracie and Adeline's direction.

But the mother and daughter seemed completely normal, eating their breakfast as usual.

When Gracie saw that Monica's coffee cup was empty, she even asked a maid to refill it for her.

It must be my imagination. Nothing is wrong, Monica told herself.

When the three of them finished eating, the maids cleared the dishes and cleaned the table.

Yet, Gracie and Adeline showed no intention of leaving.

Monica's heart was in her throat. She stood up and said, "Auntie, Adeline, I'll be going now. I want to go check on Ferry."

"Wait a moment," Gracie said. "Sit down."

Monica's body went stiff.

But since Gracie had spoken, she had no choice but to brace herself and sit back down.

As soon as she sat, two maids walked over and stood behind her.

Now Monica was certain-something had happened.

Her heart felt like it was about to jump out of her throat.

"Auntie, is... is there something you need to tell me?"

Gracie looked at Adeline.

Adeline spoke up, "Bring it in."

As soon as her voice fell, a servant walked in holding two documents and handed them to Adeline.

Adeline handed one of them to Monica first.

Monica was sitting right next to her, so she could reach it easily.

"What is this?" Monica took the document but didn't dare to look at it, asking Adeline weakly.

"You'll know once you look," Adeline said.

Monica had no choice but to open the document.

Upon seeing the first page, her vision went dark.

It was... a paternity test report between Alberto Mendoza and Ferry....

Didn't they already do a paternity test?

Why would Adeline give her another report!

She was trembling like a leaf.

And the result of this paternity test terrified her even more.

The results showed that Alberto Mendoza and Ferry were not biological father and son at all.

They had no blood relation!

Ferry was not Alberto's child!

"This... this must be a mistake.." Monica's voice was shaking uncontrollably. "There must be a mistake somewhere! We did a paternity test before. Ferry... Ferry is Alberto's biological son..."
