One night stand with my president(chapter 633)

Chapter 633: I'll Come Early to Accompany You

Adeline had taken a while to come back after seeing Alberto off just now.

What had the two of them talked about?

Would Alberto have told her about what happened that night?

He definitely would.

They were siblings. What would Alberto keep from her?

Even though Adeline's attitude towards her showed no change now...

After these past few days, Monica felt she had gained some understanding of Adeline.

She knew Adeline could sometimes keep her emotions hidden, very capable of keeping things to herself.

So she didn't dare infer what Adeline was really thinking just from her surface demeanor.

After some thought, Monica decided to take the initiative and bring up the incident from that night with Adeline.

"The other night... I was worried Alberto would be too tired at the company, so I prepared some food and went to see him there. I happened to run into Miss Miller being there too. I was afraid Miss Miller would misunderstand that I had ulterior motives, so I could only say that Aunt Gracie asked me to deliver it."

Her words were a mix of truth and falsehood.

Saying Gracie asked her to deliver it wasn't because she was afraid Connie would misunderstand.

She deliberately wanted Connie to think Gracie was on her side.

But putting it this way now still seemed plausible.

If the Mendoza family pressed the matter, she could just say she was flustered at the time and misspoke.

Anyway, Gracie was still fairly nice to her now; she definitely wouldn't make a big deal out of such a small matter.

Adeline gave a faint "Hmm."

You And then said nothing more.

Her reaction made Monica even more anxious inside.

Monica would rather she openly showed displeasure.

But she didn't dare say anything more.

Saying more would only make her appear guiltier.

"I... I'll go take care of Pharrell."

After speaking, Monica turned and left.

She comforted herself in her heart.

It's okay.

Her biggest enemy right now was just Connie.

Once that man dealt with Connie, there would be no more obstacles between her and Alberto.

If she could really become the young mistress of the Mendoza family, then none of these things would matter...

Monica was still lost in her fantasies about the future, unaware that as Adeline watched her retreating back, her eyes were filled with

profound meaning.

After the plane landed, Russell personally took Lily Sparrow and her family to the residence he had previously arranged for them.

It was a more ta hundred-square-meter apartment in a high-end residential complex with excellent security.

Upon arriving, Lily Sparrow felt extremely uneasy.

"You really didn't have to prépare such a nice place for us," she said apologetically.

"Anywhere to stay would have been fine."

Russell said, "It's alright. This is a property under my name. It's usually empty anyway. You can settle in here with peace of mind. Your father is still ill and needs a good environment. And you three need to recuperate properly as well."

He was referring to Lily and her two younger sisters.

The three of them weren't sick, but they were pale and thin.

As for her father's illness, back in Yewhaina, Russell had already had someone consult with doctors.

They said at this stage of his illness, even hospitalization wouldn't help.

They could only use medication to prolong his life, for as many days as possible.

Russell had discussed it with Lily.

Lily had also sought her father's opinion.

In the end, they decided against hospitalization.

"Thank you," Lily said softly, her head lowered.

Before, she had thought just getting a large sum of money from Russell would be amazing enough.

She never expected they would actually return to Orianto.

And that Russell would have arranged everything for them.

"Don't worry about money. Someone will transfer funds to you regularly every month,"

Russell said. "Just focus on your studies. If you want to go to school, I'll have someone arrange it for you. If you'd rather not, I can hire a tutor to come teach you here. As for your two younger sisters, they're still quite young. My suggestion is it would be better for them to experience school life."

Lily's nose stung. She could barely speak, only managing to nod and say, "I'll listen to your arrangements."

Russell nodded, checked the time, and said, "I have other matters to attend to, so I'll leave now. Contact me anytime if needed. Also, tomorrow the police will come to ask your father some questions. Don't be afraid. I'll come early to accompany you."

Lily's heart instantly began to pound violently.

Russell said, "I'll come early to accompany you."

Even though she knew his words held no ambiguity-they were purely kind, just to reassure her because he thought she might be scared- But...

In the young girl's heart, an involuntary, wistful thought still stirred.

Russell had already left, but Lily remained standing where she was, motionless.

Her heartbeat still seemed very fast.

"Sis, what's wrong?" Her two younger sisters came over to take her hand.

"Sis, are you okay? Did you still not give the gift. we prepared to Uncle Russell?"

Hearing this, Lily snapped back to reality.

Indeed, she hadn't.

She didn't give it on the plane, and after landing, she still hadn't.

Earlier, she had been eagerly wanting to give this gift, filled with their heartfelt feelings, to Russell.

But later, she suddenly lost her courage.

Lily patted her sisters' heads and said

apologetically, "Sorry, sis forgot. I'll give it to him next time Uncle Russell comes."

The two little girls didn't think too much of it.

After nodding, they said happily, "Sis, can we really live in such a nice place from now on? Can we eat lots of yummy food?"

"Yes," Lily said with a smile. "But we still need to spend money carefully. The money we're using now is all given to us by Uncle Russell. We mustn't waste it, understand? Also, in a little while, you'll be going to school. You must study hard at school and not fool around. That's the only way to live up to Uncle Russell's kindness."

"Don't worry, sis! We know."

Just then, Lily's father's voice came from the bedroom.

"Fengmian, come in for a moment."

Mr. Sparrow's health was extremely poor. He had gone straight to rest in the bedroom as soon as they arrived.

Lily entered the bedroom and saw her father propped up on the bed.

Perhaps because they had finally returned to Orianto, Mr. Sparrow's spirits seemed a bit better tbefore.

"Dad."

Mr. Sparrow said, "Mr. Hunter is a great benefactor to our family. You must remember this debt of gratitude."

Lily nodded and said, "I will."

Mr. Sparrow looked at his daughter, his lips trembling slightly. "It's all my fault, dragging you down, dragging your mother down..."

"Dad, don't say that," Lily said, forcing back the tremor in her voice. "None of this is your fault.

Dad, tomorrow the police will send someone.

When they come, you must tell them everything you know, truthfully. I believe they will bring those bad people to justice."
