One night stand with my president(chapter 639)

Chapter 639: Yannick Was the Mastermind

Felix Gentry wouldn't have summoned him back to the country to pay respects to that woman for no reason.

It must be that Jolene had told him something.

Yannick Gentry truly regretted it now. If he had known it would come to this, he never would have sided with Jolene against Felix.

If he had stopped Jolene when she first harbored those malicious thoughts, perhaps things wouldn't have reached this point.

If Felix really knew the truth about what happened back then, how would he treat him? Yannick didn't dare to think about it.

Even though he was Felix's biological father.

Yannick knew clearly how important Felix's mother was to him.

Just him marrying Jolene was enough to make Felix furious.

Let alone the truth of those past events...

As soon as Yannick got off the plane, several people immediately approached him.

Yannick recognized them; they were all Felix's trusted aides.

"Mr. Gentry," the man in the lead said expressionlessly. "Mr. Gentry sent us to pick you up."

Yannick felt as if he were tightly wrapped in an invisible net, unable to escape, unable to breathe.

Felix really wasn't leaving him any room to maneuver.

"Where is he?" Yannick asked, his face pale.

"You'll know when you get there."

"Insolent!" Yannick scolded angrily. "I am his father! Since you are Felix's people, you should respect me!"

The man remained expressionless. "We are respecting you right now."

Otherwise, they would have forcibly dragged Yannick away long ago.

Yannick opened and closed his mouth several times, but in the end, he couldn't say anything.

With a face full of annoyance, he followed the men out of the airport and got into the car.

After he got in, two men immediately sat on his left and right.

Clearly, it was to prevent him from escaping.

Although even if he ran, they would quickly catch him, it was still troublesome, so it was better to cut off his escape route from the source.

Their actions made Yannick even more terrified.

The car gradually left the city area and got on the highway.

"Where are we going?" Yannick asked irritably.

"Why get on the highway? You..."

At this point, he suddenly realized something.

Are we going to Lanning?

Felix's mother's grave was in Lanning...

No one answered his question, but Yannick fell silent on his own.

It wasn't until dark that the car finally arrived in Lanning.

Yannick had been whisked into a car right after getting off the plane, and after sitting for so long, he was dizzy and disoriented.

Just when he felt he couldn't hold on and was about to fall asleep, the car stopped.

"Mr. Gentry, we're here."

Yannick felt as if he had been granted amnesty and hurriedly got out of the car.

He stretchd his body and took deep breaths of the fresh air outside.

He saw that this was indeed the entrance to the cemetery.

However, after mentally preparing himself the whole way, Yannick had calmed down by now.

Anyway, no matter what Felix asked, he would just deny it.

It had been so many years.

Before, he indeed didn't want Felix to know.

But now, since Felix might already know, he had to face it.

He couldn't possibly kneel down and cry in repentance in front of Felix, could he?

"Mr. Gentry, this way please."

Yannick followed the men into the cemetery.

At this moment, the cemetery was pitch black, with only the faint light from their flashlights piercing the darkness.

Occasional gusts of wind blew past, giving Yannick goosebumps all over.

Soon, Yannick saw Felix's mother's grave.

Around the tombstone, a circle of white candles had been placed.

The flames flickered gently in the evening breeze.

Yannick also saw Felix standing in front of the tombstone, and Jolene kneeling there.

At this moment, Jolene's body was trembling slightly.

Seeing this scene, Yannick's heart, which had just calmed down, became tense again.

He forced himself to stay calm and walked up to Felix.

"Felix.."

"Shh."

Before Yannick could continue, Felix interrupted him.

Felix kept his eyes on the photo on the

tombstone and whispered, "Keep your voice down in front of my mother."

Yannick couldn't tell if Felix was happy or angry.

He had no choice but to lower his voice and say,"It's late at night, what are you doing? If you want to pay respects to your mother, coming tomorrow would be the same."

He looked at Jolene.

It just so happened that Jolene was looking at him too.

Her eyes were filled with terror and pleading.

But Yannick had no intention of speaking up for her.

At a time like this, he could barely save himself; how could he save her?

Suddenly, Felix chuckled softly.

"I'm afraid Mom is getting impatient waiting," Felix said. "You two are the people she cared about the most. Mom has been alone for so many years; she must be very lonely."

The candlelight illuminated his face. At first giance, standing in the night, he looked almost like a demen.

Jolene trembled more and more violently.

Felix continued, "So, I'll send you two to keep her company now, how about that?"

"Ah-" Jolene finally screamed in a breakdown. "It wasn't me, it wasn't me! I told you, Yannick was the mastermind behind what happened back then! I was just listening to him... If you want to avenge your mother, just kill Yannick!"

Although she had previously thought crazily that she would just drag Yannick down to hell with her if it came to it.

But when the moment actually arrived, fear drowned her like a tidal wave.

She didn't want to die.

"Shut up!" Yannick scolded angrily. His heart was also full of panic, but he knew he had to hold steady at a time like this.

Besides, Felix was most likely just trying to scare them.

Could he really kill them right here?

"Felix, this woman is crazy. Don't listen to her nonsense," Yannick said with a trembling voice.

"Your mother.. your mother passed away because she was sick. I was sad too. I was sincere about her..."

"What sincerity?" Jolene was so terrified she had lost all reason. Now she just wanted to dump all the blame onto Yannick. "You clearly hooked up with me way back then! Later, in order to be with me openly, you started plotting to get rid of my sister! If you hadn't bribed her nutritionist and tampered with her diet, how could she have gotten sick? How could she have died of illness at such a young age?"

"Jolene!"

Yannick's eyes nearly popped out of his head. He rushed towards Jolene, his mind filled with the thought of strangling this woman to death. But before he could touch Jolene, he was pinned down by Felix's men.

Jolene looked at him, a look of sorrow suddenly appearing on her face.

When things were peaceful, the two of them were affectionate and sweet.

But once a serious crisis occurred and things spiraled out of their control, their true natures were exposed.

Felix never turned his head. He kept looking at the photo on the tombstone. The mother in the photo still wore a gentle smile.

"Mom, did you hear all that?"

  1. Why all the plotting to do EVIL when all will still be exposed by not being able to actualize your dreams in the future with someone who loves the victim so dearly.
