One night stand with my president(chapter 637)

Chapter 637: Why Is She So Hard to Get?

Anna didn't take the little interlude of buying coffee that morning to heart.

However, she didn't expect to run into that handsome guy again when she went for dinner at a shop near the company that evening.

There was a rice noodle restaurant near the office that tasted great, and Anna often came here for dinner.

She entered the shop, sat down, scanned the code to order, and just as she finished, she suddenly sensed someone sitting opposite her.

She looked up, a trace of surprise flashing across her eyes.

"It's you?"

"What a coincidence to meet you again," the handsome guy smiled.

Anna smiled politely as well. "Yes, quite a coincidence."

Although she had a smile on her face, she faintly felt that something was amiss.

She had just met him this morning, and he

had given her a coffee.

Now, she was meeting him again in the evening, and he had sat directly opposite her? Even though there were clearly plenty of empty seats in the shop.

"I forgot to introduce myself this morning. My name is Harvey Raymond. I just started working at a company nearby a few days ago."

Harvey showed absolutely no intention of leaving; in fact, he even started chatting with her.

Anna's mind raced with a hundred thoughts, but she didn't show it on her face.

After all, she had learned quite a few things from Adeline Hensley.

She wanted to see exactly what this Harvey Raymond was up to.

Was it a coincidence, or did he have ulterior motives?

"You can just call me Anna."

"You work at the Thomson Group, right?"

Harvey asked with a smile asked with a smile.

Anna raised her eyebrows slightly. "How did you know?"

"I feel like you have a certain elite vibe about you," Harvey said. "People who work at the Thomson Group all have that aura. I wanted to apply to the Thomson Group before, too, but I'm self-aware enough to know I definitely wouldn't get in, so I had to send my resume to other companies."

Anna smiled and said, "You should be brave enough to try. If you don't try, how do you know you won't succeed? If you had tried, maybe we would be colleagues right now."

"You have a point. But, even though we didn't become colleagues, we still managed to meet. Perhaps this is a wonderful kind of fate."

Anna nodded, but internally she was roasting him.

She didn't care if the fate was wonderful or not, as long as it wasn't an ill-fated entanglement.

"Since fate has brought us together, how

about we exchange contact info?"

Harvey looked at her with a smile as he spoke.

To be fair, this man was indeed handsome.

With that smile, Anna's heart did flutter for a split second.

But she held her ground.

"I'd rather not. It's not very convenient," Anna refused politely.

She wanted to see.

If she refused to add him, would he continue to "coincidentally meet" her in various places?

Harvey probably hadn't expected her to reject him so crisply and cleanly. For a moment, a look of confusion appeared on his face.

"Ah, well I..."

Anna didn't speak. Harvey had no choice but to say he had something to do, and he hurriedly got up and left.

After leaving the rice noodle restaurant

and walking some distance away, Harvey took out his phone and made a call.

Once the call connected, Harvey spoke in the language of Yarlen.

"What the hell? Does this woman just not like men? I've been trying so hard!" Harvey complained. "But she wouldn't even let me add her contact info. How am I supposed to continue with the plan?"

"In the end, you're just useless," the person on the other end said coldly.

"Please, don't you know my charm? It's clearly this woman who isn't normal, okay!"

"You must take this woman down. I'll give you one more week. If you can't handle this, don't bother coming back to see me."

"You..."

Before Harvey could say anything else, the phone was hung up.

He gritted his teeth in frustration.

That woman named Anna didn't look like anything special. Why was she so hard to win over?

A few days later, Adeline Hensley received a call from Anna.

"I've run into a very strange man these past few days," Anna told her. "I run into him every day, and every time I see him, he's incredibly enthusiastic towards me. He's very handsome, the kind I'd definitely take a second look at on the street. Before, he wanted to add my contact info, and I refused. But when I ran into him again. over the next few days, he kept bringing it up, so I added him. After adding him, he chats with me a lot every day. Anyone who didn't know better would think he felt an instant connection with me."

Adeline thought for a moment and asked, "Is it possible that he really is interested in you?"

After all, Anna was quite pretty, had a good temperament, and worked in the CEO's office of the Thomson Group.

"Miss Hensley, I understand what you mean. But ever since that jerk deceived me last time and implicated you and Mr. Gentry, I've

been extra careful in this regard," Anna said.

"No matter how I think about it, this man feels off."

However, if he was approaching her intentionally, what could he want from her?

Anna felt there wasn't much to gain from her personally.

It could be for the Thomson Group's secrets, or perhaps, he was targeting Adeline again.

After all, in the Thomson Group's CEO office, she had the best relationship with Adeline.

So after thinking it over, she decided she needed to tell Adeline about this.

"I understand," Adeline said. "Play along with him for now. Don't let him realize you've sensed "something is wrong."

Anna was the one in contact with the man.

Since Anna said there was something fishy, it was never wrong to be cautious.

"Don't worry about that, I know what to do," Anna said. "I'll send you the information I have on this man in a bit. See if you recognize him."

"Okay."

"Miss Hensley, how much longer until you guys can come back to the country?" Anna said with a frown. "I miss you."

Adeline smiled and said, "It should be soon."

"That's good."

"I'll bring you a gift when I return."

"Hehe, if you say that, I'm looking forward to your return even more."

"I see, so you're looking forward to my gift more, not me?"

"Oh my, how can you say that? Of course, I'm looking forward to you more”

The two chatted and laughed for a while longer before hanging up.

Not long after, Anna sent the information she

had gathered about the man to Adeline.

The man's name was Harvey Raymond.

Adeline hadn't heard the name, but that wasn't important. If there was something strange about this man, his name might not be real either.

Anna said she had asked someone to look into him over the past few days. Harvey Raymond had indeed started working at a small company near the Thomson Group a few days ago as a programmer.

According to the managers at that small company, Harvey's documents were all in order, and he seemed like just an ordinary person.

But Anna just felt something was wrong.

She also sent two photos to Adeline.

However, there was only one profile shot and one view of his back.

After all, Anna couldn't blatantly take photos of him.

Actually, dúring one of their "chance encounters," Anna had made an excuse saying she wanted to take a selfie with him.

But Harvey had refused.
