One night stand with my president(chapter 619)

Chapter 619:You Look Disappointed

"Ahem, sorry."

Connie Miller secretly smiled and lowered her hand.

"Now you can speak.”

"I love you."

".." Connie was stunned for a moment, then blushed and said reproachfully, "I asked if you had breakfast, why are you saying that?"

"I haven't eaten," Alberto Mendoza said.

"But I still want to tell you, I love you."

"You're so annoying!"

Connie pushed him and was about to get up to leave.

But Alberto held onto her wrist.

"Let's have food delivered," he said pitifully.

"My leg hurts so much."

"Really?" Connie immediately became nervous.

"Is your leg still in pain? See, I told you you should rest properly! Should we go back to the hospital for a check-up now?"

Seeing her so flustered, Alberto instead laughed.

"It's fine," he said, gently pinching her cheek.

"The doctor said it's normal to feel leg pain after being discharged. Just don't run or jump forcefully for a while, and don't walk too far."

Connie sighed in relief, then realized something and glared at him angrily.

"Alberto Mendoza, are you messing with me?"

"How am I messing with you?" Alberto said innocently. "I just told you my leg hurts. I was telling the truth."

"Serve you right if it hurts," Connie said stubbornly.

Alberto, of course, knew she was just speaking in anger, and the smile on his face grew even brighter.

They were finally properly together again.

Actually, what Connie was thinking, he could also imagine.

In the future, who knows what might be

waiting for them.

But... since they were still together now, they should be together properly.

Constantly worrying about the future wouldn't help either.

In any case, he was certain that in the future, no matter what happened, he would absolutely never betray Connie.

The Mendoza Residence.

After breakfast, Adeline Mendoza received a phone call from Alberto.

"Brother."

As it happened, Monica was sitting nearby holding Pharrell.

As soon as she heard it was Alberto on the phone, she immediately perked up her ears.

Naturally, she couldn't hear what Alberto was saying on the other end.

She could only hear Adeline say, "Mhm, okay, l understand. Take good care of her."

Monica's heart skipped a beat.

Did "her" refer to Connie?

After Adeline hung up the phone, Monica asked, trying to sound casual, "Was that Alberto? When is he coming back?"

Adeline said, "Tomorrow."

Monica secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

As long as Alberto was still willing to come back, it was fine.

However, Adeline's next sentence was, "He's coming back to see Pharrell."

"What... what does that mean?" Monica quickly asked. "Is he just coming back to see Pharrell? Doesn't he plan to stay at home?"

"Mhm, he'll be living outside from now on."

Monica's mind went blank for a moment.

Alberto wasn't even going to live at the Mendoza residence anymore!

Was it to avoid her? No, it was to stay outside with Connie!

Since she was living at the Mendoza residence now, Connie definitely wouldn't come back.

So Alberto wouldn't come back either; he would stay outside with her!

Alberto was truly devoted to her...

If it were before, Monica would have praised Alberto greatly, calling him a good man.

But now...

If Alberto didn't come back, how could she get close to him? How could she find a way to make him fall in love with her?

Even though she was now living with the Mendozas, if she couldn't find a way to truly become a part of the Mendoza family, she was just someone being well-fed and taken care of by them! She wouldn't be able to get any useful information for that man at all.

What should she do about her family then?

And if that man found a way to harm her Pharrell again...

Monica didn't even dare to think about it.

The previous incident had left her with too great a psychological shadow.

"You look disappointed?"

Adeline's voice suddenly sounded.

Monica snapped back to reality with a start.

"N-no, not at all," she said with a forced smile. "I just think it's not good for him to live outside all the time. His injuries probably aren't fully healed yet, right? Living outside, with no one to take care of him, isn't very convenient."

"Even if he lives outside, the Mendoza family will send people to take care of him. Don't worry," Adeline said. "Besides, with Connie by his side, he might recover even faster."

Monica really wanted to say more, but right now, her mind was a jumbled mess, and she couldn't articulate anything.

She didn't want to lose her composure in front of Adeline.

So she said, "I think Pharrell seems sleepy. HI take him back to his room to sleep."

Before Pharrell left the hospital, Gracie Mendoza had already had a nursery prepared at home.

All kinds of baby supplies were fully stocked.

After speaking, without waiting for Adeline to respond, Monica got up and hurriedly left with Pharrell in her arms.

Adeline watched her retreating back with a complicated expression.

Before, Monica had repeatedly said that she only hoped Pharrell would grow up healthy and didn't want to ruin the relationship between Alberto and Connie.

But judging by her reaction just now, that didn't seem to be the case.

However, she had mentioned before that she liked Alberto.

Now, seeing Alberto and Connie so steadfast in their love, it wasn't unreasonable for her to feel uncomfortable.

"Hey!"

Someone suddenly patted her shoulder from behind.

Adeline knew it was Joyce Monroe without even turning around.

"You're awake," Adeline said without turning her head. "I've already finished breakfast."

"Ah, after all these years, why can't I ever scare you even once? So boring."

Joyce sat down beside her dejectedly.

Adeline handed her a small piece of cake and said quietly, "I'll try to cooperate next time."

"Hmph... By the way, in a couple of days, Sam Juarez and I are going back to Orianto."

"Why the sudden trip' back to Orianto?"

"My parents said they miss me, and I miss them too, so I want to go back and visit. Plus, Uncle Juarez's birthday is in a week, and it's his fiftieth, so they're planning a big celebration. We should definitely go back for that," Joyce said. "Also, the Juarez family is starting a new project soon, and he needs to go back to oversee it."

Adeline nodded.

So, Sam and Joyce indeed had to go back to Orianto.

"Ah, I'm really going to miss you and Godmother," Joyce said, bumping her head against Adeline's.

Adeline bumped her back and then said, "Just call me if you miss me. Also, in a while, Harrison Thomson and I will be going back to Orianto too."

"Mhm... What about Godmother?"

"She went to the hospital to see my dad."

Even though she had a grandson now, Gracie hadn't forgotten that her husband was still in the hospital. She still visited him every day.

Actually, the nurse could take very good care of Isaac Mendoza, but after this injury, he had become even more attached to Gracie.

When he was awake, if Gracie wasn't by his side, he would bombard her with messages.

Gracie said it was annoying, but the sweet smile on her face couldn't be stopped.
