One night stand with my president(chapter 627)

Chapter 627: Seeking Help from His Girlfriend

Hanna Carter remained silent. The senior executive sensed something and gestured for the others to leave first, indicating she would talk to Hanna alone.

The others understood and stood up to walk out.

Only the two of them were left in the reception room.

"I just wanted to have a bit of fun with Harrison Thomson," Hanna said with a tone of complaint.

"If he wasn't willing, he could have just said so directly. Why make it so ugly? Even abandoning the cooperation."

The senior executive took a sharp breath and asked, "What exactly did you say to Mr. Thomson just now?"

Hanna repeated her earlier words.

"You... Ah, don't you know Mr. Thomson has a girlfriend?"

"Of course I know," Hanna said dismissively.

"So what? I don't want to be his girlfriend, nor am I asking him to break up with her."

The executive's lips twitched. She knew Hanna had always been free-spirited and open-minded, but if the other party was single, that was one thing. When someone already had a girlfriend, no matter what, one shouldn't...

She truly couldn't agree with Hanna's perspective.

But there was no need for her to say these things to Hanna.

She simply said, "Mr. Thomson and his girlfriend have a very good relationship, didn't you know?"

A flicker of mockery passed through Hanna's eyes. "How good can it be? I've never believed in true love in this world. Even the best feelings gradually fade."

Just like her parents.

"You're mistaken," the executive shook her head.

"Mr. Thomson genuinely loves his girlfriend.

Moreover, Mr. Thomson has always held a strong disdain for people using business cooperation to make advances. It seems this cooperation is really finished."

Hanna felt both angry and annoyed but didn't lose her rationality.

It was best not to lose this cooperation.

True, they would receive compensation, but compared to the profits from the cooperation, what was that compensation worth? She couldn't just give up like this.

"I'll go apologize to Mr. Thomson," Hanna said, suppressing her anger.

The executive sighed. "I'm afraid this isn't a problem an apology can solve."

Although they didn't know Harrison Thomson that deeply, they had heard he wasn't exactly the most reasonable person.

"Please, help me think of a way," Hanna pleaded.

"In the future, if there are any good opportunities, I'll definitely think of you. By the way, I remember you like red wine. I have a few prized vintage wines at home. I'll have someone send them to your place tonight."

The executive rubbed her temples. "It's not that I don't want to help, but this time I might be powerless too... Wait."

Her eyes suddenly lit up. "I do have an idea for you."

"What idea?" Hanna quickly asked.

"You could try seeking help from Mr. Thomson's girlfriend," the executive said.

"Mr. Thomson is deeply devoted to his girlfriend and is very accommodating to her. If you can get his girlfriend to help, as long as she speaks up, Mr. Thomson definitely won't refuse."

Hanna frowned slightly. "Would that work?"

"Given the situation, even if there's only a sliver of hope, it's worth trying," the executive said.

"Mr. Thomson's girlfriend is the Miss Hensley who has always been by his side. She's also the Mendoza family's young lady. She was separated from them before and only recently reunited with the Mendoza family."

"If she knows I wanted to seduce her boyfriend, giving me a slap would be letting me off easy. How could she possibly help me?"

"You're wrong, she definitely wouldn't slap you. But whether she helps you or not, you'll only know after you go to her. Besides this, I can't think of any other way."

Hanna was still hesitant.

"I can stall the termination for you for a few days, but not for too long. You should hurry."

After saying this, the executive stood up and left.

Hanna sat there, agonized over the decision for a long time but ultimately decided to try finding that Miss Hensley.

If she sincerely apologized and begged her, perhaps Miss Hensley might soften towards her?

Hanna, always prideful, could distinguish when to be proud and when not to. No matter what, she couldn't let her career be ruined.

Alberto Mendoza was busy at the company until very late.

When Connie arrived, he was still buried in documents. However, he didn't look worried, only occasionally frowning slightly before quickly returning to his composed, capable demeanor.

Only after finishing the document in hand did he notice someone had just entered.

Seeing it was Connie, a look of pleasant surprise appeared on his face.

"Why are you here?"

He immediately stood up and went to greet her.

"Because I knew once you got busy, you'd definitely forget to eat," Connie said helplessly.

She was holding several food containers.

Alberto was taken aback, then somewhat guiltily rubbed his nose.

It was true; he hadn't eaten anything all evening.

He hadn't felt it before, but now that Connie mentioned it, he realized he was hungry.

"What delicious things did you bring me?"

"Takeout from that Orianto restaurant you like," Connie said, placing the containers on the coffee table.

Alberto sighed. "So it's not handmade by you."

Connie almost laughed. "Me cooking Orianto food... If I dared to cook it, would you dare to eat it?"

"Of course I would," Alberto said immediately.

"As long as it's made by you, I love eating it."

"Liar," Connie glared at him. "Last time I made sweet pork ribs, you only ate two pieces."

Alberto suddenly remembered. Several years ago, Connie had indeed made sweet pork ribs for him once.

Back then, she said with great enthusiasm that she had learned how and it would definitely amaze his taste buds.

When she finished and brought it out, he only ate two pieces and truly couldn't eat any more after that.

He didn't vomit, all thanks to his profound love for her.

"Ahem," Alberto coughed awkwardly. "That time before doesn't count."

"Hmph... Alright, come and eat quickly."

"You eat with me too."

"I'm not hungry, I already had dinner."

Connie had brought all his favorite dishes.

Having worked hard for hours, Alberto was indeed hungry and ate a lot in one go.

Connie watched from the side, her gaze full of softness.

She thought, at least for now, she truly didn't want to separate from Alberto.

Then let's be together properly.

No one could tell about the future.

It was better to follow her heart and cherish the present.

So as not to regret it later.

After eating, Alberto leaned back on the sofa, closing his eyes for a short rest.

This whole time, he kept holding Connie's hand.

Seeing him like this, Connie also felt a pang of heartache.

"Just what happened?" she asked. "Is there still more to handle? Let me help you."

Connie had handled company matters before and could still be of help.

Alberto shook his head and said, "It's nothing, you should go back and rest early. This matter isn't simple. Later, I still have a meeting with several senior executives."

Hearing this, Connie grew even more concerned.

"It's really nothing," Alberto said, looking at her expression and smiling. "It's just the Mendoza family's old rivals causing some trouble again. It'll take some time, but it will definitely be resolved."
