One night stand with my president(chapter 641)

 Chapter 641: He's Already Dead

Without even looking up, Adeline Hensley knew who had come. She openly raised her phone to show him.

"It's news about Russell Hunter."

Harrison Thomson frowned slightly, took the phone from her Hartmand, glanced at it, and then his frown deepened.

"This Rogelio Hunter," he said, returning the phone to Adeline, "really didn't seem like that kind of person."

But on second thought, Rogelio had, after all, fought his way through the business world. How could he easily reveal his true colors?

Probably all these years, Russell had never imagined it would be Rogelio who caused his mother's death.

Thinking of this, a shadow passed through Harrison's eyes.

Even he himself hadn't expected Frankie Harrison to be that kind of person, had he?

"I need to call Russell Hunter," Harrison said.

Adeline looked up in surprise. "Are you going to comfort him?"

Harrison: "...You think too much."

Not avoiding Adeline, he sat down right beside her and dialed Russell's number.

Russell answered quickly.

"Mr. Thomson."

His voice was calm, but upon closer listening, it seemed slightly hoarse.

"The person you asked me to help find earlier has been located," Harrison said. "But, there's been an accident."

After a pause, he added, "He's already dead."

Beside him, Adeline's brows knitted tightly together.

Harrison took her Hartmand, his thumb gently stroking the back of it to soothe her.

"Dead?" Russell was also surprised by this turn of events, his tone full of astonishment.

"Who did it?"

"Can't be sure for now," Harrison said.

"By the time my people found him, he was already a corpse. Based on the state of the body, his time of death was at least two weeks ago. The authorities in Yewhaina have already started investigating this case, and my people are also looking into it. I'll contact you again once the perpetrator is identified."

"Understood. THartmank you."

With that, Russell hung up.

"The person you just told Russell was dead... is that Warren Chiang, the one he asked you to help find?" Adeline asked.

"It's him."

Harrison raised his arm and wrapped it around Adeline's shoulders, pulling her into his embrace.

Adeline let out a soft sigh.

"Does this count as a misfortune that befell him for no reason?"

Who knows what he might have heard or seen to be taken away and even silenced.

"Hard to say," Harrison replied. "If he hadn't gone to the hospital that day, this wouldn't have happened to him. But he went to the hospital to help Jasmine Hunter find an opportunity to target you."

This, Jasmine had already confessed.

However, ultimately, Warren Chiang was acting under Jasmine's instructions. He might not have been willing to do such things in his heart.

In the end, he even lost his life.

"Could the killer be them?" Adeline suddenly asked.

"Very likely," Harrison said.

Adeline's frown tightened further. Seeing this, Harrison reached out and gently smoothed the crease between her brows.

"Don't frown so often," Harrison said.

"Hmph, are you trying to say I'm not pretty when I frown?"

"I didn't mean that," Harrison chuckled helplessly.

"Adeline von ran't wrono me like that"

"Adeline, you can't wrong me like that."

"That's exactly what you meant," Adeline grumbled playfully.

Harrison knew she was joking. He gently pinched her cheek and smiled. "Our Adeline is the most beautiful at all times."

It wasn't their first day together, but hearing his words still made Adeline's face feel warm.

"You're just smooth-talking."

As she spoke, she reached out to cover his mouth.

Harrison tilted his head slightly to avoid it, then took her Hartmand and said earnestly, "Adeline, don't frown so often. No matter what happens, I'm here."
