One night stand with my president(chapter 616)

Chapter 616: You Were Watching Me the Whole...

This was a video from the company annual party two years ago.

During the raffle draw at that year's party, Adeline Hensley had pretty good luck, winning an expensive laptop.

Good fortune is always exciting, especially when it involves such a valuable item. Back then, a smile had lingered on Adeline's face the entire time.

"Yes, I remember this annual party too," Harrison Thomson said, looking at Adeline's smiling face in the video. "I thought at the time that I must have been paying you too little, Miss Hensley. A mere laptop could make you this happy."

"Hey, it's not about what you win, it's about the feeling of winning," Adeline said.

"Although, winning something expensive... that definitely adds to the joy. Everyone was so envious of me back then. Of course, they were even more envious of those who won a car or the thirty thousand dollars in cash."

After saying this, Adeline suddenly remembered something and turned to look at him. "Wait, I recall you gave me a raise right after that annual party. Was it because of this?"

" Mhm."

Adeline pouted. "And here I thought it was because my work performance was exceptionally outstanding that you gave me a raise."

Harrison chuckled. "Of course, that was one of the reasons too. Your work performance truly is exceptional."

"Naturally."

Adeline continued watching the video. At that moment, she suddenly noticed Harrison appearing in the frame.

"Look, that's you."

Harrison looked.

It was indeed him.

The him in the video... seemed to have been watching Adeline the whole time.

"I've noticed. You were watching me the whole time," Adeline said.

"Ahem, was I?"

"Yes! Well, I never knew! So you were secretly watching me back then!" Adeline exclaimed as if she had discovered a new

continent. "I didn't notice it at all back then."

If it were just a glance, it might be different.

But the video had been playing for quite a while.

Harrison's gaze remained fixed on Adeline.

Moreover, his expression was completely unlike his usual aloofness; instead, it was exceptionally soft.

"I thought you looked a bit silly back then, that's why I kept looking," Harrison said.

"Stop making excuses. Look at that expression in your eyes. You clearly had a crush on me since back then."

To be honest, Harrison himself couldn't quite remember why he kept looking at her back then.

But somehow, his gaze just naturally lingered on her.

Watching her be happy, watching her smile, watching her talk to others...

"Tell me, weren't you..."

Before Adeline could finish her sentence, her lips* were sealed by his kiss.

The video on the phone continued to play.

But the two of them could no longer focus on it.

When the kiss ended, Adeline clutched his clothes, her breathing slightly rapid.

"You... is this how you react when you can't win an argument? By cheating like this?"

"Kissing my own girlfriend counts as cheating?"

Harrison said with a smile.

"Hmph... seems like I need to dig through more old photos and videos. Maybe I'll find fresh evidence every time."

Harrison said, "Go ahead and look. I'll watch with you. Maybe we'll find times when you were secretly watching me too."

Hearing this, Adeline suddenly felt a pang of

guilt.

Because there really were many times in the past when she had secretly watched him.

"Hm?" Harrison looked at her with an amused smile. "Why so quiet now?"

"I don't feel like talking to you," Adeline said, turning her head away from him. "Go eat your dinner... and, where's the little cake you brought me?"

"Right here."

Harrison placed the small cake he was carrying in front of her.

Adeline wasn't in a hurry to eat it though.

She first asked someone to prepare dinner for Harrison.

Once dinner was ready; she took the little cake and went with Harrison to the dining room.

While Harrison ate his meal, she sat beside him, enjoying her cake.

"How does it taste?" Harrison asked.

"Not bad, but a bit too sweet," Adeline

replied.

"Then I won't buy it next time."

Harrison poured her a cup of floral tea to cut through the richness.

They also chatted about work matters.

Although Adeline's focus had recently been on the Mendoza family, she wasn't completely out of the loop regarding the Thomson Group. When Harrison mentioned some key points, she even offered a few suggestions.

Harrison nodded repeatedly, his gaze resting on Adeline filled not only with affection but also with deep admiration.

"Adeline," Harrison said, "I remember my grandfather mentioned before that over these years, if you hadn't been by my side, I might not have been able to develop the Thomson Group to its current state."

Of course, Harrison himself was exceptionally capable.

Without Adeline, he might still have been able to grow the Thomson Group to its current prosperous state, but undoubtedly, the journey. would have been much more arduous.

"Hmph, so now you finally realize how good I am?"

"I've always known."

Harrison raised his hand, wanting to touch her face, but suddenly noticed a figure lurking furtively at the dining room entrance.

He frowned and called out coldly, "Who's there?"

Adeline also looked toward the dining room door.

The person at the entrance seemed to want to run but didn't dare. In the end, they had no choice but to walk in.

It was Monica.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Thomson, Adeline," Monica said with an awkward smile. "Pharrell fell asleep, and I was feeling a bit bored. I thought about taking a walk in the backyard and happened to pass by here. I didn't mean to disturb you while you were eating."

Her explanation was completely unconvincing.

First, the path to the backyard didn't pass by the dining room. Second, she had clearly been lurking suspiciously at the doorway, not at all like someone just passing by.

Neither Harrison nor Adeline spoke. Monica continued, "But the two of you really have such a good relationship. I'm so envious..."

There was some truth to this statement.

Watching Harrison and Adeline together, she couldn't help but think of the past, when she was with her boyfriend.

Back then, they were very sweet, often dreaming about their future together.

He said they would get married, have children, and spend their lives hand in hand.

But that car accident suddenly took away the life of the person she loved.

She didn't even have time to tell him that she was pregnant, that they were going to have a child.

And now. she had to make another man

fall in love with her, had to let another man acknowledge her child as his own, and had to slander that man in front of others.

Monica's eyes reddened.

"What's wrong?" Adeline's voice suddenly sounded.

Monica snapped back to reality. She instinctively wiped her eyes and quickly said, "Nothing... I, I won't disturb you anymore. I'll go now."

She had originally come to eavesdrop on Harrison and Adeline's conversation.

But in the end, she didn't hear anything useful and only ended up making herself sad.

Forget it, why should she feel sad?

Since she had chosen this path, she could only keep walking down it.

She could let everyone down, but she absolutely could not let her child down.

As long as Pharrell could have a good life, it didn't matter what happened to her.
