One night stand with my president(chapter 588)

Chapter 588 There's No Need for You to Worry...

Isaac Mendoza looked at her with a kind, fatherly smile, then said to Harrison Thomson, "After I'm discharged, I'll return to Orianto with you to visit Mr. Lorenzo."

No matter what, Lorenzo Thomson was the elder; as the younger generation, they should take the initiative to visit him.

"Alright," Harrison Thomson said. "I'll arrange everything in Orianto. Please just focus on recovering peacefully."

Isaac Mendoza agreed and chatted with Harrison Thomson for quite a while longer.

The two of them now genuinely seemed to have the rapport of a father-in-law and son-in-law.

Adeline Hensley watched them happily from the side.

While they were talking, Adeline happened to receive a call from Anna Hamilton about some work matters.

So Adeline left the room to talk to Anna outside.

After finishing the call and hanging up, she

turned and suddenly sensed someone standing not far away, silently watching her.

She looked up.

It was Russell Hunter.

Since they had already made eye contact,

Adeline couldn't pretend not to see him and walk away. So she nodded politely at him and said, "Mr. Hunter."

Russell Hunter took a few steps forward, closing the distance between them slightly.

Adeline subtly took a step back.

Russell Hunter didn't seem to mind. He just said, "I'm relieved to see you're safe."

His gaze was fixed on her, his eyes seeming to hold an unfathomable, misty depth.

Adeline gave a faint smile and said, "There's no need for you to worry about me, Mr. Hunter."

After a moment's thought, she added, "With my family and the person I love by my side, neither they nor I would let anything happen to me." Russell Hunter felt as if something was stuck in his throat. It was a long moment before he managed a quiet "Mm."

"I should go," Adeline said.

Seeing her about to turn and leave, Russell Hunter quickly said, "Wait."

He almost reached out to grab her wrist but stopped himself just in time, forcibly restraining the impulse.

"Was there something else, Mr. Hunter?" Adeline stopped.

Suppressing the ache in his heart, Russell Hunter said, "About what happened last time... I still want to apologize to you."

Adeline said, "That's not necessary. I don't wish to dwell on the past. Moreover, the bond between Harrison Thomson and me isn't something that can be shaken by such a minor incident. However, I hope you won't do anything like that again, Mr. Hunter. Even if it doesn't affect our relationship, it ultimately wastes your time and ours. Don't you agree, Mr. Hunter?"

With every word she spoke, Russell Hunter felt as if a knife were twisting in his heart.

But there was nothing to be done.

He was the one who had overstepped.

If it weren't for the fact that he had genuinely helped her in the past, she probably wouldn't even want to speak to him now.

"I won't," Russell Hunter said. "Ms. Hensley, I hope you find happiness."

"Thank you."

With that, Adeline turned to go back into the hospital room.

But before she could reach the door, she saw Harrison Thomson come out.

Harrison Thomson's gaze swept over Russell Hunter, then he said to Adeline, "Your father needs to rest."

Adeline nodded, then proactively took Harrison Thomson's hand.

"Let's go see my brother."

Harrison Thomson looked down at their joined hands, his eyes softening.

"Okay."

The two of them left together for Alberto Mendoza's room, leaving Russell Hunter standing alone, watching their retreating figures, an immense sense of solitude filling his heart.

This trip to Yewhaina hadn't allowed him to help Adeline much regarding the organization.

But seeing her safe and sound like this put his mind at ease.

In the hospital parking lot, Jasmine Hunter was waiting in the car for Warren Chiang.

She didn't know how long she had waited, but he finally returned.

However, Warren Chiang's face was full of panic.
