Chapter 590: Bringing His Son to See Him
Alberto Mendoza's injuries weren't as severe as Isaac Mendoza's, and he had improved significantly.
But Connie Miller still insisted on staying by his side every day without leaving.
Even though there were nurses and Mendoza family staff who could care for Alberto, Connie still couldn't relax, feeling she needed to be with him constantly.
When Adeline Hensley and Harrison Thomson arrived, Alberto was half-lying in the hospital bed, being affectionate with Connie, who sat beside him.
They almost didn't notice someone entering.
Adeline didn't want to disturb them and was about to quickly pull Harrison Thomson back out when Alberto spotted her.
"Adeline, you're here."
Adeline smiled and asked, "How are you feeling today, Brother?"
"Don't worry, I'm pretty much fine now," Alberto said. "Please, have a seat."
Just as Adeline and Harrison Thomson sat down on the sofa, the hospital room door was suddenly shoved open forcefully.
Everyone in the room was startled.
But no one entered.
"What's going on?" Connie asked, standing up and walking towards the door.
"Apologies, Miss Miller," a bodyguard responded.
"A strange woman insists on seeing the Young Master. We found her suspicious and wanted to question her first, but she suddeniy slammed into the door. But we've restrained her."
There were always bodyguards stationed outside Alberto Mendoza's room.
A woman had just shown up demanding to see Alberto, even producing a photo of herself with him. While the bodyguards were looking at the photo, she had violently shoved the door open.
The bodyguards quickly stopped her.
However... the bodyguards couldn't be too rough with her, firstly because she was a woman, and secondly, because she was holding a small infant in her arms.
"What woman?"
Connie found it strange. No sooner had she asked than she heard a woman shout from the doorway, "I want to see Alberto Mendoza! I heard he was injured and wanted to bring his son to see him! Is that too much to ask?"
The woman's words were like a bombshell detonating inside the room.
Everyone was stunned.
Harrison Thomson was the first to react, turning to look at Alberto Mendoza.
Alberto also looked completely bewildered.
Clearly, he had no idea what this woman was talking about.
What son?
Soon, Adeline Hensley also processed the situation.
She stood up, walked over to Connie, and
looked at the woman being held back by the bodyguards at the door.
The woman had distinctly Yewhainan features and, on closer inspection, bore a slight resemblance to Connie Miller.
And she was indeed holding an infant, who was currently fast asleep.
Wait, that wasn't quite right.
The woman had been making such a racket, yet the baby in her arms hadn't woken up?
Adeline temporarily pushed down her suspicion and ordered someone to call for two female bodyguards to pat down the woman.
Given the dangers they had just faced, they had to be cautious.
This time, the woman was cooperative, submitting quietly to the search by the female bodyguards. Then she looked at Adeline with tearful eyes.
"You're Alberto's sister, right? Please, just let me see him. I'm not asking for anything, I just want to see him, to see how he is now. And this child... he's never seen his father, he..."
Connie seemed to snap out of her shock only then.
She instinctively tightened her grip on Adeline's hand, looking from the woman to the infant in her arms.
Alberto had a child? How was that possible?
He had never mentioned it!
Just then, the bodyguards signaled to Adeline that the woman was clear.
Adeline exchanged a glance with Alberto Mendoza.
Being siblings, they had that. Understanding his meaning, Adeline said to the woman, "Come in first."
