One night stand with my president(chapter 557)

Chapter  557:  IT De Everything I Can

Deep down, Adeline wished that Harrison could be with her right now.

But she couldn't possibly blame him for not being there.

He had his own problems to deal with, and he was adamant about not letting her stay to help him, urging her to go to Yewhaina for her own safety- So she had to consider him.

A relationship was about understanding and supporting each other, or else they might never make it to the end.

"You should go get some sleep," Harrison's voice was soft on the other end of the line.

"Alright, I'll go get rest now," Adeline replied.

"Okay."

Harrison didn't want to hang up, and neither did Adeline, but they both knew they couldn't stay on the phone forever. Finally, Adeline forced herself to end the call.

After hanging up. she returned to her room.

She wasn't sure if it was because of the call with Harrison, but as soon as she lay down and closed her eyes, exhaustion overcame her, and she quickly fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Harrison, having ended his call with Adeline, immediately dialed another international number.

After a few moments, the call was answered, but the first thing Harrison heard wasn't a voice. It was gunfire.

Then, a man's voice, speaking broken Orianto language, came through.

"Sorry, Mr. Thomson," the man said. "I was busy just now."

Harrison didn't hesitate. "Memphis, I'm sorry to interrupt your work."

"Your call is never an interruption, no matter when," Memphis Shannon responded, his voice calm. "And, to be honest, it's been a long time since you last called me."

"I need your help, and I need your men."

"I'm honored," Memphis replied. "Where do you need us?"

"Yewhaina."

There was a brief pause before Memphis replied, clearly surprised. "Yewhaina? Has something happened there, Mr. Thomson?"

"Yes."

Adeline's situation was his own problem.

So, yes, he was the one in trouble.

"I understand," Memphis said. "I'm on my way now. I'm actually nearby, just a half-hour from finishing things here, and I can be there within five hours."

After a pause, Memphis added, "I've heard about an organization in Yewhaina, a powerful one. Is it connected to them?"

"Smart," Harrison said with a grin. "They've targeted my girlfriend and taken my future mother-in-law. I need you to rescue her. If possible, wipe out that organization."

Memphis's tone turned serious. "Rescuing your future mother-in-law should be no problem, but wiping out that organization, I can't promise. Their reputation alone reached my ears, which means they're not easy to deal with."

Though his words sounded bold, Harrison knew Memphis had the capability.

He had that power.

"OK, no need to push it. Just rescue my mother-in-law. The organization can wait," Harrison said, his voice firm.

"Rest assured, Mr. Thomson," Memphis replied. "I deeply regret not being able to help you the last time. This time, I'll give it everything l've got."

Harrison knew exactly what he meant.

Memphis had been unavailable when Adeline was kidnapped by Lorenzo and taken to Daltoria.

At the time, Memphis had been far away on business, which made it impossible for him to come to her aid.

Memphis had carried the weight of that guilt for a long time.

"It's fine," Harrison reassured him. "Just handle this one well."

To be honest, Harrison hadn't expected much from Memphis last time.'

While Memphis and his team were great fighters, finding people wasn't exactly their strong suit.

"Okay," Memphis replied.

Gunfire erupted on his end again, but he still managed to politely say, "Goodbye, Mr.

Thomson."

Though she had fallen asleep, Adeline's mind was restless. She tossed and turned, haunted by, nightmares.

In one dream, she received a package. Inside was a bloody arm, and the voice of the man from the organization echoed in her ears.

"I told you l'd give you three days. The deadline is up now. I have to send you your mother's arm. This is all your fault."

The voice in the dream was cold and chilling.

As she wept in the dream, clutching the arm, the scene shifted, and she saw Harrison, just arriving in Yewhaina, ambushed. Bloodied, he lay on the street.

She wanted to rush to him, to help him, and to take him to the hospital.

But there seemed to be an invisible barrier between them. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get past it.

She could only watch as the blood flowed from his body. He was lying there, helpless, as if...

"No!" Adeline screamed, suddenly waking up in a panic.

Joyce, who had been sitting by her side, jumped in surprise.

"Adeline, were you having a nightmare?"

Quickly, Joyce stood and poured herself a glass of water.

Adeline felt her throat dry. She took the glass from Joyce and drank it in a few gulps.

"You were frowning and sweating a lot while you slept," Joyce said with concern. "You looked like you were in pain, but I didn't want to wake you up since you haven't been resting well lately."

"It's fine," Adeline said, rubbing her forehead.

"Just a couple of nightmares."

She set the cup aside and grabbed her phone, checking the time.

She'd only been asleep for a little over two hours.

But at least she had rested, somewhat.

Adeline felt a heaviness in her head, but she forced herself to get up and continue watching the surveillance footage.

She wasn't the only one looking through the recordings, but she couldn't sit still. She had this nagging feeling that she should be doing something.

What if she found a clue?

Joyce stayed by her side, keeping her company.

After Camilla had drugged her coffee.

Connie had been keeping a close eye on the kitchen, ensuring nothing else went wrong.

Though Camilla had been locked up, the tension was high, and Connie feared there might still be accomplices within the house.

Adeline watched the footage for another two hours.

Then, she saw it: the black van.

The license plate number matched the fake one they had seen before. It was definitely the same van.

They had tried to avoid places with surveillance when they took Gracie, but they couldn't completely evade it.

The intersection near where the van stopped was under construction, and they had no choice but to pass through it.

The van was parked at the side of the road for a while.

One man got out and walked into a nearby store.

When he came out, he was holding a bottle of coffee.

He wore a hat, obscuring his face, but when he raised his hand to twist the lid off the bottle, Adeline noticed something.
