Chapter 612 Do Another Paternity Test

After saying that, Harrison unceremoniously pulled her into his embrace.

Since Adeline couldn't break free anyway, she simply lay in his arms playing with her phone, letting his hands wander over her body.

"Why were you in a bad mood tonight?" Harrison asked. "Because of your brother's situation?"

"Yes. Just thinking about how my brother and Connie must both be suffering right now makes me feel terrible too," Adeline said.

"One is my biological brother, the other is my good friend. For something like this to happen now..."

Although she probably didn't hurt as deeply as the parties involved, she was still saddened for both of them.

Of course, she wasn't making excuses for Alberto Mendoza. If he hadn't caused trouble by getting drunk and losing control, none of this would have happened

But besides reason, there's also emotion.

After all, he is her biological brother... And what she cares about most is actually Connie, who is truly innocent in all this.

"And besides that, there's another reason,"

Adeline continued. "When I was chatting with Monica today, I kept feeling something was very off about her. She definitely has some secret."

Monica had a guilty look on her face while speaking to her. Although it wasn't obvious, Adeline could still catch it.

Moreover, while Monica said  she only wanted Pharrell to grow up healthy, the underlying meaning in her words suggested she still wanted Alberto Mendoza's attention.

She previously said she didn't want to ruin the relationship between Alberto and Connie.

In reality, that didn't seem to be the case.

She didn't have any ill will towards Monica. As a woman herself, she knew Monica had it hard-pregnant and giving birth alone, bearing the pressure of her child's serious illness.

But Monica was suspicious, and she had to be on guard.

Because this matter involved Alberto Mendoza  and possibly the entire Mendoza family.

"Don't worry." Harrison raised his hand and ruffled her hair. "I've had people investigating her all along."

"Oh, right, I was thinking."

Here, Adeline hesitated.

"What is it?" Harrison asked. "Why hesitate with me?"

"It's not hesitating with you. I'm thinking about whether I should really do this thing," Adeline said. "I want to have my brother and Pharrell do another paternity test, but I don't want the family. to know about it for now."

Things have already reached this point. The Mendoza family has accepted Pharrell and is gradually accepting Monica.

If she stirs things up again by suggesting another paternity test, who knows what waves it might cause.

To be safe, she'll do it secretly and wait for the results before saying anything.

"Alright." Harrison said. "I'll arrange it."

Adeline smiled. She wrapped her arms around Harrison's waist and said, "You just agreed without a second thought?"

"Of course." Harrison said. "I naturally have to support whatever you want to do."

Adeline leaned over and kissed him, then asked,"But, is it really okay for you to keep staying with me in Yewhaina like this? Maybe you should go back to Orianto first?"

She said this sincerely. There were many things to handle back in Orianto, and she didn't want Harrison to delay too long because of her.

Although she would miss him if he went back, there was a long future ahead. She and he had a whole lifetime to spend with each other.

"It's fine." Harrison immediately said. "I'll arrange everything back home. Don't worry. I'll stay here with you."

He never wanted to leave her alone to face all sorts of things again.

Under normal circumstances, it might be okay.

But right now, everything still hadn't completely settled down.

He absolutely would not leave her alone.

"You.." Adeline said helplessly. "I'm really fine."

"I'm the one who's not fine. I can't manage without you."

Adeline laughed and hugged Harrison tighter.

However, Harrison saying he would arrange everything back home made Adeline realize that recently, her colleagues at the Thomson Group's executive office indeed seemed to rarely contact her about work matters.

On one hand, they were becoming more and more capable. On the other hand, it was probably because Harrison had given instructions.

Recently, with the Mendoza family affairs, he didn't want her to be troubled by work matters.

"Harrison Thomson."

"Hmm?"

Adeline originally wanted to praise him, but didn't know what exactly to praise, so she just said, "Nothing."

"What did you want to tell me?" Harrison, however, wasn't planning to let it go.

"Really, nothing."

Harrison narrowed his eyes dangerously, lifted her chin, and kissed her lips.

Adeline was almost out of breath from the kiss.

She finally waited for him to release her, feeling so annoyed she wanted to bite him.

"Don't say only half of what you want to say to me from now on," Harrison said.

"I'll say whatever I want," Adeline said, deliberately trying to annoy him.

"Oh really?"

The tone of Harrison's two words was ambiguous, but Adeline suddenly felt goosebumps all over.

"Ahem, alright, I'll consider it."

Harrison was amused by her.

After a moment, he said seriously, "Speaking of which, there's something I haven't told you yet."

"What is it?"

"It's about Kyson Campbell," Harrison said.

Adeline had been starting to feel sleepy.

Hearing this, she immediately opened her eyes again.

"Kyson's younger sister's condition has gradually stabilized, so the day before yesterday, I had someone arrange a video call for the siblings."

But Adeline had been preoccupied with Alberto Mendoza and Connie's situation, so Harrison hadn't told her immediately.

"After Kyson confirmed his sister was safe and that her condition was indeed gradually improving, he was willing to tell me the truth."

After all, the person who had instructed him hadn't treated his sister well at all.

Why should he keep covering for that person?

"So, the person who instructed him back then was indeed..."

"Mhm, it was Marshall Harrison."

Actually, back then, Marshall Harrison hadn't been in direct contact with Kyson Campbell but had sent one of his trusted subordinates.

But now that Marshall Harrison had been arrested, all his subordinates were naturally exposed.

As soon as Kyson mentioned it, Harrison Thomson's people immediately found out that person was a subordinate of Marshall Harrison.

And that person had already admitted that Marshall Harrison had ordered him to instruct Kyson Campbell to send that text message to Adeline.

"But... back then, it was Kaylie Hickman who drugged you. How did Marshall Harrison find out about it and send someone to deliver condoms to you? And why specifically target me?"

"I sent someone to ask Marshall Harrison."

At this point, Marshall Harrison had nothing left to hide.

He and Frankie Harrison had long been coveting the Thomson family's power and wealth, always holding back their urge to bring down Harrison Thomson.

So, they had actually secretly assigned people to keep an eye on everyone and everything around Harrison Thomson.

At that time, Kaylie Hickman was the daughter-in-law candidate highly favored by Myra Thomson.

So they naturally included Kaylie Hickman in their key monitoring targets as well.

Then, they became aware of Kaylie Hickman's plan.
