Chapter 579: Dragging Innocent People Into It
Earlier, someone had advised Sonia to let it go.
But she couldn't.
When she first met her fiancé, they couldn't stand each other. They often found excuses to fight, and even Memphis found them both a headache.
But somehow, over time, they started developing feelings for each other.
Sonia herself couldn't quite remember how it happened.
She only remembered that when he proposed to her, her heart was full of joy.
She thought they would be together forever.
Even if fate was against them, they'd die together.
But things didn't go as they thought.
There was one time when they were sent on separate missions.
When Sonia's mission ended and she returned, she heard that her fiancé had gone missing.
They said there had been an explosion during their mission.
Her fiancé was most likely caught in the blast, leaving nothing behind but ashes.
But Sonia refused to believe it.
Without seeing his body, she wouldn't accept that he was truly gone.
So, ever since that day, she had been doing everything she could to search for any trace of him, refusing to let go of even the smallest shred of hope.
Memphis had been sending people to search as well, but there were no results.
Adeline sighed inwardly, gently patting Sonia's hand.
As long as there was still hope in her heart, that was what mattered.
Sonia wasn't much of a talker, but tonight, she had opened up to Adeline.
"Honestly, seeing you with Mr. Thomson, I'm a little envious." Sonia said. "You two must have a little envious," Sonia said. "You two must have a great relationship, right?"
Adeline smiled and nodded. "It's been good after we got together, but before that, we had our fair share of misunderstandings and conflicts."
"Well, the important thing is that it's ending on a good note. And men... sometimes they like to keep things bottled up inside. I remember one time..."
The two of them kept chatting until midnight, enjoying the conversation.
In Orianto, late at night, a group of people silently entered a quiet neighborhood.
Adeline's aunt's family lived here.
After Lacey's surgery was successful, she was recovering at home.
At this hour, she was fast asleep, unaware that a group of people had their eyes on her.
She didn't know that as soon as the group
arrived on her floor, they were ambushed by another group of people who took control of the situation and dragged them into an empty stairwell.
A woman stood against the wall in the stairwell, her face cold and stern.
This woman was Georgia.
All the people being controlled were foreigners.
One of them asked, "Who are you?"
Of course, they all knew that if they called for help at this point, it wouldn't end well, so the foreigner lowered his voice when he asked.
Georgia sneered.
Straightening her back, she walked over to the man and, without a word, struck him hard across the face.
The man staggered, dazed, his head spinning.
"Who gave you the courage to come here and cause trouble?"
She hit him again, her movements swift and decisive.
This whole sex thing didn't just start now, it has been like that since we started, at first it was y...
They struggled but were firmly held down, unable to escape.
"If you want to fight, do it openly." Georgia's voice was cold. "What's the point of dragging innocent people into this, huh? You're after a woman-just a normal woman. Do you really have no conscience, hurting her?"
"Georgia, they don't have a conscience," a man nearby reminded.
Georgia glanced at him, and he immediately fell silent.
At that moment, they heard a startled female voice. "What's going on here?"
Everyone turned around.
It was Bianca, Adeline's cousin.
Bianca stood on the stairs below, looking like she had just returned, a convenience store bag in her hand.
"Miss Hudson," Georgia greeted her coolly.
Bianca forced a smile.
The other foreigners' faces turned grim.
They struggled but were firmly held down, unable to escape.

Bianca forced a smile.
Because of Adeline, she had met Georgia once before. And now, when she saw Georgia, she didn't run away immediately.
At that moment, Bianca was blocked by the crowd.
There were people from Georgia's team as well as the captured foreigners.
Georgia gestured with her hand, and they reluctantly made way for Bianca.
Bianca climbed up the stairs, struggling, and stood next to Georgia.
She had just returned from outside, trying to get some exercise by taking the stairs.
And she could never have imagined witnessing such a scene tonight.
"So, Georgia, what's going on?" Bianca asked.
Georgia answered, "Someone's targeting your mother."
Bianca's face instantly changed.
"But don't worry," Georgia added, "We'll take responsibility for your family's safety. Whether you're at home or out, someone is watching over you."
"Really? We didn't notice anything..." Bianca murmured. Then, she suddenly realized something and quickly asked, "Has something happened to Adeline?"
Her family was just ordinary people. Who would suddenly target them?
It had to be related to Adeline.
Bianca's greatest fear was that something had happened to Adeline.
"She's safe now. Don't worry," Georgia reassured her.
Bianca sighed in relief.
"Adeline is in Yewhaina, right?" Bianca asked again. "Is Mr. Thomson with her?"
"Yes."
"That's good... I heard her family is well-connected in Yewhaina, and with Mr. Thomson with her, she should be safe."
"Yes, don't worry. Go back and rest. We'll handle everything here."
Though Georgia had reassured her,
Bianca still felt uneasy about walking alone from the stairwell.
After all, she had never encountered anything like this before.
Seeing the look of unease on her face, Georgia decided to have someone accompany Bianca all the way home to make sure she was safe.
When Bianca entered her house, she immediately turned on the lights in the living room.
Seeing the familiar surroundings, she felt a little calmer.
Just then, Oliver came out to get some water.
When he saw her, he rubbed his eyes, yawning, and said, "Sis, you just got back? You look pale."
Bianca's voice was serious as she replied, "Don't go out these next few days."
"Ah? What do you mean?" Oliver asked, confused.
"Don't ask too many questions. Just take the day off tomorrow from your internship," Bianca said sternly. "I'll talk to Mom and Dad in the morning."
Though Georgia hadn't specifically told them to stay inside, Bianca thought it was best to lie low for the time being.
Staying home would make it easier for Georgia and her team to protect them.
