One night stand with my president(chapter 567)

Chapter 567: Thinking of Me?

Sam had come to Yewhaina with Harrison.

Now that everything was settled, he couldn't wait to see Joyce.

After arriving at the Mendoza family with Harrison, he quickly learned from a servant that Joyce was in the backyard, so he made his way there at once.

When he reached the backyard, he found Joyce sitting on the swing, lost in thought.

He tiptoed up behind her and covered her eyes with his hand.

"Adeline, how old are you? Still playing this game?" Joyce said, half amused, half annoyed.

Sam held back a laugh but didn't answer.

"Hey, let go of me. I'm thinking," she muttered, trying to shrug him off.

"What are you thinking about?" Sam's voice was soft, teasing, "Thinking about me?"

The moment she heard his voice, Joyce froze.

She quickly removed his hand from her eyes and turned to look at him.

She saw Sam standing there, smiling at her.

"I'm not dreaming, am I?" Joyce whispered.

"Of course not," Sam said, pinching her cheek lightly. "See? Does it hurt?"

"Sam, how dare you pinch my cheek?" Joyce said, her voice laced with playful annoyance.

She slapped his face a few times, but as she did, her eyes welled up with tears.

"I missed you so much," she said. "I haven't even talked to you much these past few days."

Sam stepped forward, pulling her into his arms.

"I'm sorry," he said softly. "I made you worry."

Joyce wrapped her arms around him and shook her head. "Don't apologize. You were busy with important things, I know. I just missed you so much."

Earlier, she had tried to call Sam, but he hadn't answered.

She didn't want to disturb him, thinking that he was busy, so she hadn't tried again.

Later, Sam called back when he found time, explaining that he was involved in something important and wouldn't be able to contact her until it was over, but he promised he would come to Yewhaina with Harrison once things settled.

After hearing that, Joyce had kept her distance, no longer calling him, though she longed to.

Now, she was finally getting some peace.

Joyce knew that Sam was helping Harrison, and although she knew it could be dangerous, she didn't blame him.

First, Harrison was her best friend's boyfriend.

Second, Harrison had helped them a lot in the past.

It was Harrison who had helped them when

Callan's men attacked Sam.

If not for Harrison, Jamarion would never have backed down.

Speaking of Callan, Joyce suddenly became more animated, pulling Sam to sit on the swing. "Let me tell you, Callan finally got what he deserved."

"What punishment?" Sam asked.

"He came to Yewhaina to stalk me," Joyce said, rolling her eyes. "But he forgot, this is the Mendoza family's turf. Adeline had Alberto give Callan a good thrashing. As for the details, Alberto didn't tell us, and I didn't ask, but I know for sure that Callan got what was coming to him."

Sam ruffled her hair affectionately. "Don't worry, this is just the beginning. Everything he did-hurting you, hurting me-i'll make sure he gets it back, piece by piece."

Joyce nodded, her face still concerned.

"While it's satisfying to get back at him, please be careful. Don't let yourself get hurt."

"You don't have to worry," Sam assured her.

"I've had people check on things in Orianto, and Jamarion still hasn't woken up. While Jamarion's power is still there, without him,

Callan isn't much of a threat."

"Good," Joyce said, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I hope everything will be fine from naidan Rut what ahnut that aroanization ?'

now on. But what about that organization...?"

She suddenly remembered something and sat up straight, excitement in her voice.

"Since your side has dealt with things, that means the mastermind behind Adeline's kidnapping has been caught, right?"

Though Joyce didn't know all the details, she could guess that the people who had kidnapped Adeline must have been involved with Harrison's enemies.

If they weren't trying to use Adeline to threaten Harrison, they wouldn't have kidnapped her.

"They've been caught," Sam confirmed. "But... the feud with that organization won't end so quickly.

Joyce's smile froze at the corner of her mouth.

That was true.

Forget about whether the organization would let Adeline go.

They had kidnapped Gracie and severely injured Isaac.

The Mendoza family would never let them off the hook.

This grudge wasn't going to end just like that.

"So, we might have to stay here for a while," Sam said. "Harrison won't feel safe taking Miss Hensley back to Orianto until the threat from that organization is completely dealt with."

"Staying here isn't so bad. I actually kind of like it," Joyce said, a frown on her face. "It's just... such a huge problem still hanging over us makes me uneasy."

"Don't worry," Sam said, pulling her into his embrace. "I'm here."

Listening to his steady heartbeat, Joyce felt her worries ease a little, and a wave of exhaustion hit her.

During this time, not only had Adeline been sleepless, but so had she.

But now that Gracie was safely back, and Sam was with her, the tension she had been carrying for so long started to loosen.

Naturally. sleepiness crept up on her.

"Are you tired?" Sam noticed her drooping eyelids.

"Yeah," she murmured.

"Then let's go to the room," Sam said, pulling her to her feet. "Let's go to sleep."

Joyce gave a slight twitch of her lips. "I feel like your 'sleeping' idea is a little suspicious."

"Is it?" Sam said, his face neutral. "You're overthinking it."

"No, I need to eat dinner first."

"Let's sleep first," Sam insisted.

After dinner, Harrison met with Memphis.

Adeline had wanted to invite Memphis to join them for dinner, but Memphis, always quick with meals, politely declined.

When Harrison saw Memphis, though Memphis didn't show much emotion, Adeline could tell his eyes lit up.

Now she was more curious than ever.

What exactly was the relationship between Memphis and Harrison?

Harrison didn't talk much with Memphis, only mentioning the organization's situation.

Now that Memphis was here in Yewhaina, it was time to take down the organization completely.

Only then could Harrison bring Adeline back to Orianto without worries.

After they had discussed the situation thoroughly, Harrison and Adeline returned to their room.

Adeline, unable to hold back her curiosity, finally asked, "Why is Memphis so willing to help you?"

Harrison thought for a moment before replying, "A few years ago, I helped him out, and..." he hesitated. "He probably looks up to me a bit."
