One night stand with my president(chapter 583)

Chapter 583: Not Everyone is as Cold-Blooded as…

Hearing his words, Adeline Hensley's heart sank.

This isn't good.

She didn't want to play dumb. Why had Russell Hunter come to Yewhaina at this time? Probably everyone knew the answer.

No wonder Harrison Thomson's vinegar jar had tipped over again.

Adeline turned around and pinched his cheek.

"You already snatched several of his key projects before. Still not satisfied?"

Harrison Thomson still remembered how Russell Hunter had previously tried to drive a wedge between them.

Stealing those crucial projects was meant to teach him a lesson.

Ordinary projects might not have mattered to Russell Hunter, but Harrison had targeted the most critical ones, causing him significant trouble. There was a period when Russell Hunter was swamped and utterly overwhelmed.

The Hunter Group had suffered considerable

losses.

But Russell Hunter never retaliated.

Probably because he felt some guilt over what he had done before.

Harrison Thomson didn't speak, he just pulled her into a tighter embrace.

To be fair, Russell Hunter had arrived very discreetly, clearly not wanting to deliberately claim credit in front of Adeline.

It was just that Harrison's people had been closely monitoring all movements recently, which was how they discovered Russell Hunter was in Yewhaina.

Truth be told, Russell Hunter genuinely hoped Adeline Hensley would be safe from any danger.

Although Harrison Thomson felt his concern was unnecessary.

His intentions were ultimately good.

And Harrison knew Adeline had no romantic feelings whatsoever for Russell Hunter.

He didn't doubt Adeline's feelings for him either.

But when you truly love someone, how can you be completely broad-minded and indifferent about such things?

Adeline knew what was on his mind.

She hugged him back tightly.

"Harrison Thomson," she said softly, "Nothing and no one will ever separate us again."

The slight ache in his heart was gradually replaced by warmth, and Harrison Thomson held her even closer.

"Mm, I know."

After her call with Adeline Hensley, Bianca Hudson immediately gathered the family for a quick meeting, also inviting Georgia Palmer to join.

She relayed what Adeline had said to the others.

When Lacey Hensley heard, her hands began to tremble uncontrollably.

"What's happening with Adeline... Is she okay? This is so frightening...”

Pretending to be sick wasn't the problem; she was just worried about whether Adeline was truly safe over there.

"Alright, Mom," Bianca soothed her. "Don't overthink it for now. Just do as my sister said, and pretend to be sick convincingly first."

Lacey Hensley nodded, and then promptly fell backwards with a "thud."

Oliver Hudson and her husband hurried to catch her.

Bianca: "..You didn't have to start right this second."

Georgia Palmer also understood Adeline's intention, but she felt a bit conflicted.

She was capable of providing covert protection or setting up ambushes.

But this kind of overt, theatrical deception really wasn't her forte.

So she could only assign a few of her subordinates to handle it.

These subordinates didn't disappoint her.

They coordinated perfectly with Bianca Hudson and Oliver Hudson.

First, Bianca was heard crying at the door, talking to two of Georgia Palmer's subordinates, saying her mother had fallen ill again and asking them to help buy medicine.

Then, the two subordinates hurriedly bought a bunch of medicine. When they delivered it, opening the door, panicked voices could be heard from inside.

"Mom, how are you feeling?"

"Maybe we should go to the hospital immediately!"

"No, it's too dangerous outside right now..."

These commotions were naturally heard by the organization members who had been watching covertly from the shadows.

They immediately reported it to their superior.

"Adeline Hensley's aunt is sick?"

When a certain organization member reported this to Killer, Joel Baxter happened to be nearby.

Hearing this, he immediately laughed.

"Good! This is a great opportunity!"

His eyes were bloodshot as he looked at Killer and said, "Didn't the intel say Adeline Hensley is very close to her aunt? Now that her aunt is sick, I refuse to believe she can just sit tight!"

Killer, however, was calm nd unhurried, only speaking after a moment. "Why did her aunt get sick at this particular time?"

Another person nearby said, "According to the information we saw before, her aunt just had major surgery not long ago. It's possible she had a poor recovery and relapsed."

Killer pondered briefly, then nodded slightly.

"What? Do you suspect her aunt is faking illness? Don't be ridiculous, why would her aunt pretend to be sick for no reason?" Joel Baxter said scornfully. "At a time like this, stop overthinking it, okay?"

Killer glanced at Joel, clear displeasure in his

eyes.

Ever since Catherine Dillard had persuaded Joel last time, Joel had been willing to realign with him, but his attitude towards Killer was even more disrespectful than before.

Killer wasn't a particularly tolerant man.

But, on second thought, keeping Joel around still had its uses.

"Adeline Hensley has been hiding inside the Mendoza estate, not coming out. But this time, with her aunt sick, she's bound to return to Orianto to visit," Joel said. "We can strike then."

Killer said, "Not necessarily."

"What do you mean?"

"Maybe she really will stay put," Killer said.

"She's just a relative, after all."

Joel was startled for a moment, then let out a strange laugh. "You need to understand, not everyone is as cold-blooded as you."

Killer didn't refute this. He was cold-blooded, and he knew it.

"Since that's the case, have people keep a close watch on the Mendoza estate."

He paused, then added, "The Mendoza family and Harrison Thomson will definitely do everything they can to protect Adeline Hensley.

If Adeline really intends to leave the estate, they will definitely use decoys to divert our attention.

When the time comes, we must identify clearly which gate Adeline leaves from and which route she takes."

"Yes, Boss."

A bloodthirsty glint appeared in Joel Baxter's eyes.

"Adeline Hensley... this time, I will definitely make you pay with your life for my brother..."

He inadvertently voiced his inner thoughts aloud.

Before the words fully faded, he heard Killer say,"I want her alive."

Clear dissatisfaction showed on Joel's face.

He didn't say anything more, but Killer knew

what he was thinking.

The reason Joel was willing to realign with him now was that Joel had directed all his hatred towards Adeline Hensley and Harrison Thomson.

Given the chance, he would definitely kill Adeline Hensley.

But Killer would not allow that to happen.

It seemed that, if necessary, he would have to take action personally...

Two more days passed.

The organization members had been covertly watching the Mendoza estate's movements.

Late one night, they finally noticed something unusual.

The main gate, the back gate, and the east and west side gates of the Mendoza estate all opened simultaneously.

From each gate, several cars drove out at the same time.

Each car carried passengers.

They immediately reported the situation to Killer, while simultaneously doing their utmost to determine which car Adeline Hensley was actually in.
