One night stand with my president(chapter 572)

Chapter 572:  See You One Last Time

Lorenzo's rage was palpable, his face turning pale with anger.

The butler, equally upset, glared at Edward and said, "I suggest you rethink your actions. You can't possibly be so void of conscience. First, you flamed your own son, and now you want to drive your father to the brink? You know how old your father is, don't you?"

He paused before adding, a touch of sarcasm in his voice, "Oh, maybe you really forgot how old he is by now."

Edward's face went pale as he hastily responded, "How could I forget? I..."

But then he realized this wasn't the time for an argument.

He was desperate, pleading for Lorenzo to save him. Lowering his tone, he said, "Dad, I know I was wrong. Mi sincerely repent for my mistakes. Once I'm out, you can punish me however you want, for as long as you want—if that's what it takes to atone."

Lorenzo snorted, "You think you can just repent for your sins so easily?"

He faltered, his expression darkening with sorrow.

"Harrison is your son. But you abandoned him over a decade ago, and now you're scheming against him... Did you ever think, if your plot had succeeded, what would've become of him?"

Edward stammered, "Harrison's still young. Even if he spends a few years in prison, it won't be that..."

Lorenzo suddenly burst into laughter, his tone harsh.

"The charges they're framing Harrison with?

Once those stick, it won't be just a few years in prison." He paused and then added with derision, "And you think a few years in prison is a small thing?"

Edward knew full well how serious it was, but he desperately tried to soothe his own conscience, convincing himself that things weren't as bad as they seemed.

Lorenzo, however, was done talking.

It was futile now.

He only felt heartbroken.

After all, Edward was still his son.

Even though he was filled with disappointment, it was impossible to feel completely indifferent.

"Dad..." Edward pleaded, his voice breaking.

Lorenzo finally spoke, his words cold and final, "I'm done here. I just came to see you one last time."

Even if Edward wasn't sentenced to death, he'd be imprisoned for many years.

Lorenzo didn't think he'd be alive to see Edward's release.

Even if he were, he had no desire to meet him again.

Edward's face turned ghostly pale.

"Dad, you can't do this! Please!" He screamed desperately, "I'm your son!"

"Harrison is also your son," Lorenzo retorted coldly. "Did you think of him when you were

destroying him?"

With that, he turned away, helped by the butler, and walked off.

His back appeared incredibly frail in that moment.

But Edward didn't notice; his mind was solely consumed with himself.

"Dad! Where's Harrison?" Edward shouted at Lorenzo's retreating figure. "I need to see Harrison."

He believed Lorenzo was beyond help.

Harrison was his last hope.

If he could gain Harrison's forgiveness, maybe there'd still be a chance.

Lorenzo paused but didn't turn around.

"Harrison's not in Orianto," he said coldly.

"You won't see him. He's in Yewhaina with his girlfriend."

"How can he still..?" Edward trailed off, his heart sinking.

Lorenzo's tone was sharp. "Isn't this your fault? If it weren't for you, Adeline wouldn't have been targeted by that organization, and she wouldn't have been in danger. And you know what? Stop hoping Harrison will help you. You're trying to destroy him and his loved ones. He will never forgive you."

With those final words, Lorenzo walked away without a second glance, leaving Edward frozen, pale and trembling.

Adeline and Harrison stayed in the hospital, waiting for Isaac to wake up. After exchanging a few words with him, they finally left.

Their car was waiting at the door.

Adeline didn't rush to get in. She stood there for a moment, taking a deep breath of fresh air.

Harrison wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"You can come out whenever you want from now on, no need to hide."

Adeline shook her head.

She knew that as long as Harrison was with her, her safety was guaranteed.

But with Isaac and Alberto still not recovered, she didn't have the heart to go out and enjoy herself. Even if she stepped outside, it would only be to visit them in the hospital.

"We'll go home," Adeline said, holding Harrison's hand and smiling. "I'll bake you some cookies."

Harrison smiled at her, kissing her forehead gently. "Sounds good."

On the way home, Adeline didn't notice anything unusual.

But when they arrived at the Mendoza family, she saw Rowen walking toward them, flanked by several bodyguards, leading three men.

Adeline hadn't seen them before, but they looked worn out and defeated, clearly lacking any fight left in them.

"Mr. Thomson, we only caught these three,"

Rowen said apologetically.

"Alright," Harrison replied, his voice calm.

"Rowen?" Adeline asked, surprised. "When did you arrive?"

Rowen greeted her with a smile. "Miss Hensley, I came with Mr. Thomson. I've been overseeing the security, so I stayed out of sight."

Adeline raised an eyebrow. "So, were they planning to attack us on the way back?"

"Yes," Rowen confirmed. "They weren't the only ones. But the rest ran off."

Adeline's lips twitched as she glanced at

Harrison. "I didn't even notice."

She had thought they made it back home safely.

Harrison smiled slightly, knowing that as long as he had made thorough preparations, no danger would get close to Adeline.

So it made sense that she didn't notice.

"I'll leave them to Memphis," Harrison said to Rowen. "Have him deal with them the same way as before."

"Understood."

Rowen led the men away.

Adeline felt a little irritated.

Though Harrison provided her with the best protection, being constantly watched and targeted was still an unpleasant feeling.

But she quickly calmed herself.

What was done was done. Worrying wouldn't help.

Better not to think about it.

And now, with Harrison by her side, she felt a lot happier than before.

As they entered the living room, Adeline saw Connie walking toward them, her eyes red from crying.

"Adeline, Alberto just called me..."
