Chapter 605: I feel like Have Seen Him Somewhere
"What is it?" Adeline Hensley asked immediately.
The rain had brought a chill. Harrison Thomson reached out, drew her closer, and put his arm around her shoulders before answering. "This Monica had a boyfriend who passed away about a year ago. And before he died, they were apparently very serious, to the point of discussing marriage."
Adeline Hensley frowned.
Hadn't Monica claimed she had liked Alberto Mendoza for a long time?
Furthermore, her boyfriend died a year ago.
But Pharrell was now over three months old and was carried to full term.
That meant Monica became pregnant from the encounter with Alberto Mendoza before her boyfriend died?
Yet she also said her relationship with her boyfriend was very good.
"Could the information be wrong?" Adeline asked.
“She definitely had a boyfriend before, that part is true But the true nature of their relafionship is only known to the two people involved."
And now, Monica's boyfriend was dead,
So only Monica knew the full story.
The rain intensifed, but fortunately, they had already reached the restaurant entrance.
The restaurant was small but elegantly decorated. At this hour, it wasn't crowded, with only two or three other patrons.
They chose a table by the window.
At a table kitty-corner to them sat a large, burly man.
When they first entered, this man had looked at them several times, his gaze peculiar.
Now, however, he seemed composed, eating his meal while typing on his phone as if chatting with someone, no longer glancing their way.
After a while, once the man finished his meal, he got up and left.
Adeline looked out through the glass window and saw the man open an umbrella and walk off into the rain.
"Do you know that man?" Adeline asked Harrison Thomson. "I feel like I've seen him somewhere before. He looks familiar."
"In the hospital," Harrison Thomson said.
His words sparked her memory.
"Right! We saw him at the hospital a couple of days ago."
Then again, this restaurant was near the hospital.
That man might have had business at the hospital, or a relative or friend hospitalized there, and just happened to come to the same restaurant today.
It was a perfectly ordinary coincidence.
Yet, for some reason, Adeline felt a faint, lingering sense of unease.
Russell Hunter was preparing to be discharged from the hospital that evening.
There was nothing seriously wrong with him; he had only fainted due to a sudden surge of anger and distress. Now that his emotions had stabilized, there was no need for him to remain hospitalized.
His subordinate had already completed the discharge procedures.
As he took the elevator down to the first floor, he saw a crowd had gathered in the main lobby, creating a noisy commotion.
He wasn't interested in the spectacle, but as he passed by the edge of the crowd, he
inadvertently glanced through a gap and caught sight of a somewhat familiar face.
Russell Hunter instinctively stopped.
It was the girl who had been crying outside his hospital room door.
Right now, the girl was being tightly gripped by the arm by a man.
She struggled hard but couldn't break free.
The man, holding her firmly, was cursing loudly in Yewhainan.
The girl seemed unfazed, just shouting, "Let me go! What are you trying to do in front of all these people? Do you want to hit me?"
"You stole my money and now you want to run? Give me back my money!"
