Chapter 472: You Should Give Up
Myra couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Remarry? Are you out of your mind?"
There was no way they could get back together after everything that had happened.
Myra had no desire to remarry him at all.
She had finally found herself again, and now he was asking her to go back to being Edward's wife?
She must have lost her mind to even consider it.
"Myra, I know l've wronged you over the years, but now l've realized that you are my wife, the one I should cherish and care for.
Britney is just a gold-digger. She was only with me for money. So, I kicked her out, and there will be no more women between us," Edward said with a sincere expression.
Myra, however, felt like he had lost his mind.
"No way," Myra refused firmly. "I don't care what you think. I'm not remarrying you. As for the Thomson family, I won't be helping you out anymore, so forget it."
Edward gritted his teeth.
If he remarried Myra, Lorenzo and Harrison would surely let him back into the Thomson family for Myra's sake.
But now Myra wouldn't even agree to it.
What was he supposed to do? He was seething with anger.
He had promised that Britney wouldn't appear again, but Myra still wouldn't agree to remarry him. She used to treat him sincerely. She was the one who had missed him for years after he faked his death. She should be overjoyed that he wanted to remarry her now.
But she rejected him.
For a brief moment, Edward really thought about killing Myra, just as he had done to Britney.
But he still hadn't lost all his rationality.
Myra wasn't like Britney.
She was Harrison's mother.
If she disappeared, it would cause an uproar.
People would quickly find out about him.
So now he had no choice but to keep begging Myra.
"Myra, please give me another chance. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you..."
"Alright, enough," Myra interrupted. "I don't want to hear your empty promises, and I don't need any of your compensation. If you really feel guilty, give me some peace."
With that, Myra got back into the car.
Edward didn't want to give up.
Myra coldly said, "If you block me like that again, I'll just run you over."
Edward was startled.
Although he knew Myra was just angry, he was still terrified by the coldness and disgust in her eyes.
So he reluctantly stepped aside.
Myra pressed the gas pedal, and the car quickly drove off, leaving Edward standing there, smashing the wall in frustration.
What was he supposed to do now?
He had killed Britney and left Alondra at the Thomson family. Was he supposed to slink back to Yewhaina alone?
At this point, he couldn't even dare let Eric know he had been kicked out of the Thomson family.
The Stewart family was just using him.
Once the Stewart family realized he was no longer useful, they would surely kick him out without hesitation.
He hadn't been back to his home country for over ten years.
Now, with no connections in Orianto, he had no way of challenging the Thomson family.
Just then, he heard a few car horns honking.
Edward turned in frustration.
A black car had, stopped nearby.
It seemed like it was waiting for him.
Edward walked over in confusion.
The window rolled down, and Frankie, the adopted son of Edward's uncle, appeared, smiling.
"Edward, didn't expect to run into you here," Frankie said.
Frankie was younger than Edward.
"Oh, it's you." Edward coughed twice and put on an air. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm meeting a friend, just happened to pass by. I didn't expect it to really be you." Frankie unlocked the car door as he spoke.
"Come on, Edward, let's go home."
Edward's face froze in awkwardness.
Frankie still didn't know he had been kicked out of the Thomson family.
"What's wrong?" Frankie asked in confusion.
"Nothing," Edward said vaguely.
He opened the car door and got in.
After fastening his seatbelt, Frankie started the car and drove toward the Thomson family.
Edward felt like he was sitting on pins and needles.
If he got to the Thomson family now and the bodyguards stopped him outside, he would really lose face.
Frankie didn't seem to notice his unease and continued chatting with him.
"It's great that you're back. I've thought about you a lot over the years. Your guidance back then was invaluable to me. Honestly, if it weren't for you, I might still be living a meaningless life."
Edward was confused.
He couldn't remember having guided Frankie.
"We're all brothers. It's nothing," Edward dismissed.
"Now our kids have grown up, and Harrison... Well, there's no doubt that he's the most outstanding young member of the Thomson family. Under his leadership, the Thomson family will surely thrive."
Although Edward resented Harrison, he still felt a sense of pride when he heard others praise his son.
Edward said, "Harrison really is impressive."
"But Marshall... not so much. He's been weak since childhood, and even though he's a bit stronger now, he's still always coughing and looking sickly," Frankie said.
Edward didn't care about Marshall, nor was he interested.
So he didn't want to continue with Frankie's words.
After hesitating for a while, he finally spoke up, "Uh, I'm not staying at the Thomson family. I'm renting a place. Just drop me off at my apartment."
He had just rented a small apartment yesterday.
"What? You're not staying at the Thomson family?" Frankie asked in surprise. "Why not?"
"It's nothing, just wanted to live outside for a while," Edward said vaguely.
Frankie's eyes flashed with a hint of mockery.
But he still said with concern, "Is something wrong? Did you have a fight with Lorenzo? If there's anything, just tell me. We're brothers, and I'll definitely help you."
"No, how could I fight with him?"
Edward didn't want to admit he had been kicked out of the Thomson family. It was too embarrassing.
But suddenly, he felt that maybe Frankie could help him.
"Maybe I've been worrying too much. If something really happened, Harrison would definitely side with you."
His words stabbed Edward's heart.
Harrison would side with him? Not likely.
Edward felt even more resentment toward
Harrison.
