One night stand with my president(chapter 486)

 Chapter 486:  She Meets Russell

The hermit clasped his hands together, slightly bowing his head. "Miss."

Adeline was a little surprised, but still returned the gesture with her hands clasped, replying, "Is there something you need?"

"Someone wants to see you."

Adeline's brow furrowed.

But she quickly relaxed.

The person who wanted to see her was likely the one behind her being deceived into coming to Aurgville.

Adeline was curious to find out who it was.

With many bodyguards discreetly watching over her, she wasn't worried.

"Lead me there," Adeline, said.

The hermit guided her through several side halls, leading her to the backyard.

There, under a peach tree, stood a tall, commanding figure.

The peach blossoms were in full bloom.

As the wind blew, the petals fell, drifting gracefully around him.

When Adeline saw him, she froze.

It was him.

She had never expected it.

The hermit had disappeared, leaving them alone.

Russell turned and smiled at her.

"You've come."

"Mr. Hunter," Adeline said, her eyes complicated as she looked at him.

Russell signed lightly, smiling as he said, "From the moment we met, you've always called me that."

She treated him politely yet distantly.

Russell understood.

To her, he would always be an outsider, a figure slightly better than a stranger.

Adeline replied, "If I addressed you by your full name, it would be too impolite."

Russell's smile had a hint of bitterness.

"Miss Hensley, you really know how to strike at the heart."

She was telling him that to her, he was nothing more than a matter of formality.

"You think too much," Adeline said coldly.

"I'm just stating the facts."

Adeline felt a bit angry.

After all, it was Russell who had set her up.

And he had even gone so far as to use her mother's friend to deceive her.

Adeline wasn't in a position to be disappointed with Russell.

But the anger inside her couldn't be helped.

"You're angry with me," Russell observed, his tone soft.

Adeline didn't answer.

Another gust of wind blew by, causing more petals to fall onto her head.

Russell reached out to brush them off.

But Adeline instinctively stepped back, eyeing him warily.

Russell's hand froze in mid-air.

After a moment, he slowly lowered his hand and said softly, "I never intended to harm you."

Adeline replied, "What does harm mean? Is it only harm if you hit me or curse at me? Mr.

Hunter, I don't know how you managed to find my mother's old friends, but I never expected... never mind. Since you've shown up, you can tell me your purpose now, right?"

Russell looked at her, his fingers slightly stiff.

He knew she would be angry.

But facing this moment, he couldn't help feeling sad.

But there was nothing he could do.

After all, he had done despicable, shameful. things.

"Not going to say anything?" Adeline asked, preparing to turn and leave.

Russell suddenly spoke. "Do you trust Harrison?"

"I do," Adeline replied without hesitation.

Her answer came so quickly that Russell was momentarily at a loss for what to say.

Adeline waited patiently, and after a long pause, Russell said, "Then today, you'll see if Harrison is truly worth the trust you place in him."

"Mr. Hunter, I don't need to test my boyfriend, nor do I need anyone to test him for me," Adeline said, her expression serious.

"But since we've reached this point, why not wait and see?" Russell said.
