Chapter 490: Take an Interest in Victoria
The director said, "Hurry, get someone to promote this right now. Get the runway footage of the other models trending, and take down Tessa's footage from the internet.
No matter how much it costs, it must be removed!"
The director was willing to pay out of his own pocket just to get this done.
Otherwise, the reputation of this show and his own reputation would be ruined.
If this famous show ended up like this, no one in the industry would ever want to collaborate with him again.
After Tessa got off the stage, she was still feeling smug.
She suddenly noticed two staff members walking by, eyeing her strangely.
She felt a surge of annoyance and couldn't help but ask, "What's with you two? Why are you looking at me like that?"
The two staff members didn't bother to be polite.
They stopped walking, and one of them said,
"Because of you, the PR department is going crazy, and the director's about to lose his mind. And you're just here acting like nothing happened."
"It's only normal that we don't like you," said the other, with disdain.
Tessa was stunned and asked blankly, "What do you mean? What did I do?"
"Don't you know how you performed on stage just now? Don't you have any self-awareness?"
Tessa's face flushed, and she was speechless, unable to defend herself.
Her mind was filled with thoughts of Harrison, and she couldn't focus on her performance on stage.
Plus, when she saw Harrison staring at her, she thought her performance had been great.
"Because of you, the entire show's reputation is almost ruined. This has never happened before."
"I really don't know how you managed to sneak in here..."
The two staff members had no idea that Tessa had been placed there by Russell.
Meanwhile, Tessa was filled with panic.
She knew the show had been broadcast live.
Everything from her runway walk had already been streamed online.
Based on what the staff had just said, the online reactions were likely brutal.
She had previously dreamed of becoming famous through this show.
Now she was famous, but not for anything good.
In the modeling world, 'she might find it very hard to survive after this.
Even the shopping mall where she worked probably wouldn't want to keep a model who made a fool of herself at a major show.
Tessa clenched her fists tightly.
She realized that Harrison probably hadn't been attracted to her.
But it didn't matter.
She hadn't intended to climb up Harrison's ladder through that brief moment on stage.
She still had other means.
Now, there was no turning back.
She had to cling to Harrison.
Otherwise, her future would be ruined.
The two staff members had already walked away.
Other models who had finished their walks and needed to walk again were busy changing clothes.
The models who, like her, only needed to walk once, had no intention.of speaking to her.
Tessa reached into her bag and tightly gripped something small in her palm.
Whether she could become Harrison's woman depended entirely on this.
The runway show was still going on.
Near the end, the appearance of an international supermodel caused quite a stir in the audience.
This supermodel was a mixed-race beauty with delicate features and a stunning figure.
It was said that her worth was very high, and she was extremely hard to book. Although the show was well-known, no one had known that she would appear, so many guests were pleasantly surprised.
Her performance on the runway was exceptional, with every move leaving people in awe. She was indeed an international supermodel.
As soon as she appeared, the other models seemed to pale in comparison.
She was also wearing one of the new pieces from the Thomson Group.
So Harrison couldn't help but look at her a few more times.
A few reporters noticed that Harrison was watching the supermodel, so they took many photos and videos.
The supermodel quickly trended online.
In the trending topic, there were also photos and videos of Harrison staring at her.
This immediately sparked quite a discussion.
"Could it be that Mr. Thomson is interested in Victoria?"
Victoria Holmes was the name of the supermodel.
"It's normal for someone as beautiful as Victoria to have admirers, right?"
"Even a man like Mr. Thomson would be attracted by Victoria."
"Victoria definitely has the potential to marry into a wealthy family."
"Come on, are you guys serious? Can't Mr.
Thomson just be watching the show?"
"I watched the live stream. Mr. Thomson didn t look at the other models like that."
"Maybe this show will lead to a match made in heaven."
At the church, Adeline sat on a bench, holding a cup of coffee.
The scent of coffee lingered.
Russell sat on another bench, a little distance away.
They hadn't spoken for a while.
Suddenly, Russell's phone rang a few times.
He looked at it for a moment, then suddenly smiled, turning to look at Adeline.
"I saw something interesting," he said. "Do you want to see?"
Without giving Adeline a chance to refuse, he got up and walked over to her, handing her the phone.
Adeline saw that it was a piece of entertainment news.
And in the news, Harrison's name appeared.
She glanced at it and immediately understood.
It was because Harrison had stared at the
supermodel for a bit while watching the show.
And the gossip media had written all sorts of rumors about it.
Some people had even started speculating.
"It looks like the boyfriend you trust so much might not be as trustworthy as you think," Russell said.
Adeline looked up at him.
"So, is this supermodel someone you arranged?" she asked.
Russell didn't deny it.
Adeline was right. Tessa had merely been a distraction he'd casually arranged.
He had never expected Tessa to catch Harrison's eye.
Only she was so confident.
The person Russell had actually placed in the show to capture Harrison's attention was Victoria.
If Victoria wanted to make any man fall for her, it would be an easy task.
"Alright, I get it."
Adeline shifted her gaze away and continued sipping her coffee.
Russell seemed dissatisfied with her reaction.
"Don't you care?"
"Care about what?" Adeline sneered.
"Should I doubt my boyfriend just because of some photos and videos, and gossip media? If my relationship with him was that fragile, I wouldn't be with him."
"So, you don't think he could fall for Victoria?"
Adeline didn't want to engage with him.
"Fine." Russell put away his phone. "It's not over yet. We can still see how it all turns out."
