Chapter 479: He's Still So Useless
Pedro paused, his eyes narrowing in anger.
"Stop playing dumb. You must be one of Benjamin's men. Tell me, where is he?"
The man looked even more confused.
"Benjamin? I don't even know him," he exclaimed, his voice rising. "I'm just a tourist here. What do you want from me? If you keep doing this, I'll call the police."
One of Pedro's subordinates spoke quietly, "Mr. Livingston, he really seems like just an ordinary tourist, look at his backpack and camera..."
Pedro hesitated for a moment.
He looked the man over more carefully.
Indeed, the man looked like a typical tourist.
And his nervous, confused demeanor didn't seem like an act.
Pedro angrily shoved the man's head to the ground, cursing under his breath.
"So he's got nothing to do with Benjamin.
What a waste of my time."
Hearing this, the man nearly lost his mind.
He had been going about his business, enjoying his vacation, and now he was being held down by these people. And they had the audacity to call it a waste of time.
As Pedro's men finally released him, he quickly stood up, pointing at Pedro and shouting.
Pedro was already irritated.
Now, with the man shouting at him, his anger was only escalating.
"How dare you curse me? Do you know who I am? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
The man wasn't intimidated. "It's broad daylight, and there are so many people around. What are you going to do to me? You were the ones who attacked me first, and now you want to leave without compensation? I'll call the police!"
Pedro was about to shout back.
His subordinate spoke up, trying to calm him down.
"Mr. Livingston, we're in a foreign country, and we're still looking for Benjamin. If we cause a scene, it could really mess things up. Who's going to help us here?"
The words brought Pedro back to his senses.
Yes, the most important thing now was finding Benjamin, not wasting time on this.
He turned to leave, but the man started shouting again.
"I told you, you owe me compensation! You think you can leave without paying me? Come on, guys, look at this! They're hurting people and just trying to leave!"
His shouting drew the attention of several bystanders.
Though many didn't fully understand his language, they could tell something unusual had happened.
"What's going on?"
"I'm not sure, but it looks like these foreigners are fighting."
"No, it seems like the foreigners are bullying this one."
Pedro ground his teeth.
He had wanted to keep things low-key.
But now, thanks to this man's shouting, everyone was paying attention.
It was infuriating.
With no other choice, he took off his watch and threw it at the man.
"Take this watch."
The man caught the watch, and his eyes lit up.
He recognized the watch immediately. It was expensive.
He felt like he had just hit the jackpot.
"Fine, since you gave me this watch, I'll let it go."
He quickly snatched the watch and turned to run, clearly eager to get away.
Pedro muttered a curse under his breath. His anger toward Benjamin only grew stronger.
Meanwhile, in a dimly lit room, Benjamin sat at the table, his eyes fixed on the photo of Whitney in his phone, his expression dark.
One of his men entered the room and approached him. "Sis, Pedro has been looking for you. He's currently in a residential area, causing trouble with some others." Benjamin sneered.
"The residential area we misled him to?"
"Yes, he has no idea he's been misled."
"He really is just as useless as always," Benjamin said. "But this time, I think I can use him again.
Since he's come all this way, I can't let him go back empty-handed..."
