Chapter 497 Where His Hands Don't Belong
Pedro's face was deathly pale.
He wasn't even sure if it was because the water was so cold, or because of something else entirely.
"What do you want from me?" Pedro snapped, panic rising in his voice. "Sure, the Castor family isn't as powerful as yours, but we're not people you can mess with! Things can't be going well for you either right now. If you really dare lay a finger on me, my parents will never let you off the hook."
Benjamin just gave a cold little laugh. "I've got plenty of people who won't let me off the hook. Your parents are nothing special."
He couldn't care less about Pedro's threats.
He was already in too deep. What difference would a few more enemies make?
Pedro's bravado faded, his tone growing weak.
"So what, you plan to keep me locked up here forever or something?"
Benjamin stroked his chin, a playful glint in his eyes. "Locked up forever? No, not quite.
But you petter pray i don't get caugnt any time soon, or else, you might just end up rotting down here and nobody will even remember you exist."
With that, Benjamin turned and headed upstairs.
Pedro watched helplessly as Benjamin walked away without so much as a glance back. In a panic, he shouted after him, "I don't want to stay here! Benjamin, let me go. Whatever you want, I'll do it! I swear, I'll never go against you again!"
But Benjamin walked right out the door, acting like he hadn't heard a word.
The door slammed shut, the light disappeared, and Pedro was left with only a single dim bulb overhead, which made the place seem even more cold and terrifying.
Adeline didn't wake up until the afternoon.
The first thing she saw was Harrison lying beside her, one arm holding her tight, the other scrolling through his phone.
After a wild night, he looked completely refreshed, clearly in a great mood.
Adeline wanted to kick him.
But the moment she tried to move, her legs ached, and she couldn't help but suck in a sharp breath.
"You're awake?"
Harrison put his phone down and leaned in to kiss her.
"What time is it?"
"A little after two."
"It's already past two in the afternoon?"Adeline grumbled. "You totally messed up my sleep schedule. How are you going to make it up to me?"
Harrison didn't seem bothered. "Relax, l've got ways to help you sleep."
Adeline was speechless.
Of course she knew exactly what "ways" he meant.
She should never have let him come over last night.
That's what she thought, but her arms betrayed her, hugging him even tighter.
The truth was, she really had missed him.
Even though it hadn't been that long since they were last apart, she much preferred having him by her side.
Before, when they weren't officially together, the separation didn't bother her much.
But now that they were a couple, she just wanted to stick to him all the time.
And honestly, Harrison was even more obvious about it.
Feeling her hug grow tighter, Harrison looked thoroughly satisfied.
"Want to stay here a few more days?" he asked.
Adeline shook her head. "No, there's really nothing left to do here."
After making her wish at the church, she already felt content.
Besides, there was plenty waiting for them back home.
"Alright," Harrison said, "I'll have someone book us on a flight tonight."
Adeline had no objections.
"Oh, by the way," Harrison added, "we found out who sent those photos."
He'd just been reading his assistant's message about it.
Adeline smiled and asked, "Was it Jasmine?"
Harrison looked surprised. "You knew?"
"No, just a guess," Adeline said lazily, curled up against him.
In truth, she'd had several suspects in mind.
Jasmine was just one of them.
Now that Jasmine was getting crushed by Russell, it made sense she'd try anything to change her situation.
If she could drive a wedge between Adeline and Harrison, maybe things with Russell would get better.
Either she could ask Adeline for help, or use Adeline to threaten Russell. All were tricks
Jasmine might try.
Adeline never expected her guess would actually be right.
"Jasmine is as bold as ever," Harrison said coldly.
"Looks like the last lesson wasn't enough for her."
"She's not worth your time," Adeline replied.
"Besides, even if we don't do anything, things are only going to get worse for her."
Russell already hated Jasmine. And now this?
Russell knew someone had sent Harrison those photos of him and Adeline together.
He'd definitely investigate.
Sooner or later, he'd realize it was Jasmine.
With all the grudges piling up, there was no way Russell would let her off easy.
Harrison understood that perfectly.
But if he just sat back and let someone try to mess up his relationship with Adeline, he wouldn't be Harrison.
He never cared about Jasmine, but he couldn't tolerate what she did.
Russell would do whatever Russell wanted, but Harrison intended to get payback himself, too.
Still, he didn't want to seem too vengeful in front of Adeline, so he pushed those thoughts aside for now and focused on holding her close.
But Adeline squirmed out of his arms.
"It's hot," she said. She'd been holding him so tightly just a minute ago, but now she was starting to overheat.
As soon as she slipped away, Harrison pouted.
"So you were just hugging me like your life depended on it, and now you're complaining it's too hot in my arms?"
He reached for her, trying to pull her back.
He hadn't gotten enough cuddling. No way was he letting her get away that easily.
Adeline dodged, forgetting how sore her back and waist were, and winced in pain.
So Harrison started giving her a massage.
But soon enough, his hands began to wander.
Adeline coughed pointedly, warning, "Don't put your hands where they don't belong."
"Where's that?" Harrison replied, completely unfazed. "I have no idea what you mean."
"Forget it. I don't want your massage anymore."
"Be good," Harrison said. "We still have to go to the airport tonight. If you don't recover, you'll feel awful on the way."
"And whose fault is that?"
Harrison actually looked embarrassed for a second.
"Mine," he admitted. "Last night, I really couldn't help myself."
He couldn't help it. After spending even one night without her, there was just no way he could hold himself back when he finally saw her again.
"Today I'll carry you everywhere," Harrison declared. "I'll carry you out, carry you to the car, and onto the plane."
"No way," Adeline shot back without hesitation.
The idea of everyone watching was just too embarrassing.
Harrison was quiet for a moment, then muttered, "But I still want to..."
"Harrison."
Seeing that she was truly about to get mad, he quickly surrendered.
"Alright, I'll stop. Don't be mad. Let me just keep massaging you..."
