One night stand with my president(chapter 507)

Chapter 507: Who Gave You the Nerve?

The more Victoria thought about it, the calmer she became.

Now was not the time to lose her cool.

If she panicked, she'd only end up exposing herself even more.

When she finished speaking, Russell just took a drag from his cigarette and started laughing.

"Oh, is that so?" he said, a lazy smile playing on his lips. "Well, then, I guess I misunderstood you."

Victoria secretly let out a sigh of relief.

She'd always heard that Russell was gentle and polite and that he treated people with respect.

He'd been cold the last few times they'd met, but surely, deep down, he wasn't actually dangerous.

"Come here," Russell said suddenly. "Pour me a drink."

Victoria glanced at the coffee table. There was a bottle of red wine and an empty glass.

Without thinking much of it, she walked over, opened the bottle, poured him a glass, and bent down. smiling sweetlv as she handed it to him.

"Here you go, Mr. Hunter. Your wine."

Russell took the glass from her.

But the next second, before Victoria could even straighten up, Russell suddenly tipped the entire glass of wine out over her head.

The cold, sticky wine soaked her hair and face.

She didn't even have time to scream before

Russell grabbed a fistful of her hair and slammed her face down against the coffee table.

"Mr. Hunter!" Victoria cried in terror, "Please

Mr. Hunter, please, have mercy..."

She thought bitterly, "So much for "gentle". How could he be so cruel?"

"Victoria, who gave you the nerve to take me for a fool?"

Russell's voice was ice-cold, coiling around her like a venomous snake.

Victoria was shaking all over, paralyzed with fear.

"I... l'd never dare, Mr. Hunter, I swear..."

"Never dare? You already did it, and now you want to say you didn't dare?"

Russell's grin onlv tightened as if he meant

Russell's grip only tightened, as if he meant to drive her head straight through the table.

Victoria burst into tears, sobbing so hard her whole body shook.

"Mr. Hunter, I'm sorry. I was wrong. Ii never betray you or lie to you again. I... I just got carried away today. Please... please let me go..."

Russell gave a cold, contemptuous laugh and finally let her go.

Victoria collapsed onto the floor, gasping for breath, too terrified to even move.

Shaking, she stammered, "Mr. Hunter, all those things you promised me-I'll give them all up, I swear..."

After all, the reason she'd worked for Russell in the first place was that he'd offered her so many benefits, not just a ton of money, but all sorts of resources, both obvious and under the table.

She might have been a supermodel, but she wasn't the only one out there.

And she wanted to break into movies.

Russell could make all that happen.

That was why she'd helped him.

But now, not only had she failed, she'd been caught trying to betray him.

She just lost out on both ends.

"Starting tomorrow, get out of Orianto," Russell said coldly. "If I ever see you here again, don't blame me for what happens next."

"Yes, yes....”

Like she'd just been pardoned, Victoria scrambled to her feet and ran.

Russell poured himself another glass of wine, not even caring about the dull ache in his stomach.

He downed the drink in one go.

The next morning, Adeline arrived at the office right on time.

She'd gotten up pretty early.

After all, she went to bed early last night.

And the reason she went to bed early, she didn't want to mention it.

After last night... Well, let's just say Harrison could be a beast sometimes.

"Morning, Miss Hensley." Anna greeted her with a cup of coffee in hand.

"Morning," Adeline replied.

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw Anna glance over her shoulder, eyes gleaming with gossip. Seeing no one behind Adeline, Anna scooted up next to her and whispered, "Where's Mr. Thomson? Didn't he come in with you?"

"Him? He's lazy," Adeline said smoothly, face unreadable. "He wouldn't get out of bed this morning, no matter how many times I called him."

Truth was, she hadn't tried to wake Harrison up at all.

After yesterday afternoon and evening, he'd done most of the work.

Sure, he had great stamina and boundless energy, but lately, he'd really been overdoing it.

So when she woke up this morning, he was still sound asleep.

Out of pity, she'd just let him rest and come to work on her own.

"Mr. Thomson, sleeping in? I don't buy it," Anna said suspiciously. "He doesn't seem like the type."

"Sometimes, people aren't always what they seem on the surface," Adeline replied, putting on her most serious face.

Anna didn't know whether to believe her or not.

Still, Adeline was Harrison's girlfriend.

No one would know him better than her.

"Fair point," Anna admitted, making a mental note. "So Mr. Thomson actually likes to sleep in sometimes."

Adeline sat down at her desk, Anna following behind like a little tail.

"Why are you trailing after me?" Adeline asked, exasperated. Anna blinked innocently, her eyes practically spelling out "I want the gossip."

"It's almost work time," Adeline said sternly.

"Liar, there's still at least ten minutes."

Anna dragged over a chair and plopped down right next to her.

"Miss Hensley, when are you going to make it official?"

Adeline was flipping through a file, but her hand paused mid-turn at that question.

Lately, she hadn't thought much about it.

"You know what?" Anna puffed out her cheeks.

"When I saw those rumors online about Mr.

Thomson and that model, I was so mad that I even got into a fight with people on the internet. Honestly, even though I know you and Mr. Thomson are solid. Didn't the rumors ever bother you?"

Adeline's gaze dropped.

Of course it bothered her.

Who could really be so magnanimous as to see their boyfriend's name linked with another woman and not be upset?

Anna's words stirred something deep inside her.

She'd always felt there was no need to make a show out of things.

Just let people find out naturally.

But now that she thought about it, maybe it would feel nice to announce it. It was not a bad thing to share their happiness with the world.

She knew Harrison had always wanted to make it public.

Maybe it was time to talk it over with him.

"I knew it. Look at that, I got you thinking, didn't I” Anna grinned, practically glowing with pride.

After all, she'd shipped them from the start.

Now not only were they together, but there might be an official announcement.

Anna couldn't help feeling proud of herself.

"Don't gossip about this in the office," Adeline scolded. "Anyway, what time are the interviews today?"

Anna could tell Adeline was changing the subject. The executive office was hiring again, and today was interview day. Of course Adeline knew the schedule.

Anna pouted but answered, "Nine-thirty. The first group will be here soon. There's another round at two in the afternoon."

"Got it."

Anna sighed. "Let's just hope we get some decent people this time and don't have any more disasters."
