Chapter 471: Just Wear It at Home
After Adeline finished shopping and was about to leave, Tessa spotted an opportunity to approach Harrison and say goodbye.
However, before she could get close, the manager in charge of the VIP room walked over to her.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Tessa was caught off guard and awkwardly said, "The guest is leaving. I just wanted to say goodbye."
"That's not what you should do." The manager's face darkened. "Don't think I can't tell what you're up to. When the other guests were here, why didn't you go say goodbye?"
Tessa replied, irritated, "Even if I'm up to something, I've been working here for over a year. Don't we at least have some kind of rapport? Can't you just let me do this once?"
As Harrison was about to enter the elevator with Adeline, Tessa grew more anxious.
"It's because I have a rapport with you that I'm stopping you," the manager said in a low voice.
"That's Mr. Thomson. He's with a girlfriend now. Why are you trying to get involved? If you offend him, none of us will have a good time. Please, keep your distance."
The manager blocked her way, refusing to let her pass.
Tessa could only watch helplessly as Harrison left.
She didn't even get to say a word to him.
She was filled with resentment.
It was all the manager's fault for blocking her.
Now, full of frustration, Tessa didn't pay attention to the manager's words.
She'd just talked big in front of Adeline, acting all bold and fearless, but now she couldn't even manage a single word to Harrison. Adeline was probably laughing at her inside.
The truth was, Adeline hadn't even thought about Tessa after leaving.
She didn't even mention what Tessa had said to Harrison.
It wasn't necessary.
After everything that had happened between her and Harrison, this little issue didn't even matter.
And she never doubted that Harrison would betray her.
So no matter how hard that model tried, it would be in vain.
After returning home, Adeline grew interested and randomly picked out an outfit to wear.
She was expecting Harrison to compliment her, but when he saw her, his brow furrowed.
"What's wrong?" Adeline looked down at her clothes. "Doesn't it look good?"
"It looks good," Harrison said.
He wasn't just saying "you look good in anything" to brush her off. This outfit indeed suited her well, especially the black skirt, which made her legs look long and sleek.
But it was precisely this black skirt that bothered him, because... it was too short.
It wasn't that he wanted to control Adeline's freedom to dress, but she was his girlfriend, and the thought of her wearing such a short skirt out in public filled him with possessiveness. He didn't want anyone else seeing her like that.
"So... you don't like how short the skirt is?"
Adeline quickly figured it out.
Adeline looked at herself in the mirror.
It was indeed short.
It almost revealed too much.
She had only thought it looked good when the model wore it, but now she realized she had overlooked this detail.
"Alright," Adeline said, "I won't wear this one."
She was about to take it off when she saw Harrison get up and walk toward her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her into his embrace.
"It's fine," he said. "You can wear it... just wear it at home."
"Dream on," Adeline laughed lightly.
Harrison didn't say anything, but his Adam's apple moved slightly.
His hot body was pressed tightly against hers, and Adeline sensed the danger, but it was too late to escape.
He immediately picked her up horizontally and started walking toward the bedroom.
"Let me go..."
"Do you think I'm letting you go now, Adeline?"
Adeline had no choice but to let him carry her to the bedroom. and onto the bed.
Harrison's eyes seemed to burn with passion.
He didn't stop until she begged for mercy.
And through it all, he never took off her skirt.
Myra had been living alone recently, occasionally hanging out with a few close friends, enjoying a relaxed life.
Today, she had arranged a low tea with a few wealthy friends.
As she pulled the car out of the garage, someone suddenly appeared and blocked her car.
Myra was startled and quickly slammed the brakes.
She lurched forward due to the inertia, and her head almost hit the steering wheel.
After coming to her senses, Myra frowned slightly, feeling angry.
Seeing who was in front of her made her even angrier.
It was Edward.
She couldn't be bothered with him and honked the horn twice, signaling for him to move.
But Edward didn't move, standing in front of her car as if he would block her until she got out.
Myra had no choice but to get out of the car, suppressing her anger, and ask, "Edward, what do you want? I've already told you last time. Don't show up in front of me again.
She had finally left behind the identity of Edward's wife and could live for herself now.
Yet, Edward kept showing up in front of her.
He didn't like her, and she didn't mind anymore.
They were divorced, so what more did he want?
"Myra, I know you hate me," Edward said bitterly.
Myra replied, "You're wrong. I don't hate you, but you keep bothering me, and it's making me annoyed."
She didn't care about Edward anymore.
She had moved on, so why would she hate him.
Even if Edward married Britney and
brought her into the Thomson family, she would just smile and let it go.
But Edward's behavior now was really annoying her.
"But I have no choice," Edward said. "Myra, no one else can help me except you."
"I told you. I..."
"That woman has already left," Edward quickly said.
Myra was taken aback and asked, "She left?"
"Yes, I sent her back to Yewhaina," Edward said eagerly. "She will never appear in front of us again."
Myra stared at him in shock.
"She's been with you for over ten years and even had a daughter with you, and now you're just sending her away?"
After the shock, Myra found it unsurprising.
After all, Edward had once faked his death and abandoned his wife and children.
She only found it ironic.
Edward had always said that Britney was his true love, but now he had sent her away.
It was clear that Edward only cared about himself.
"I... had no choice. My father absolutely refused to accept her, and I didn't want to leave my family again, so..."
"Since she's gone, what do you want from me?"
Myra had thought that Edward was going to ask for her help, trying to get Lorenzo to allow Britney into the Thomson family.
But it wasn't that.
"Myra... can we remarry?" Edward asked.
