One night stand with my president(chapter 470)

Chapter 470: The Model

Harrison chuckled and said, "I have a feeling we're suspecting the same person."

Adeline frowned slightly. "But why would he do something like that? It's not like he's trying to..."

She coughed awkwardly. "It's not like he's trying to play matchmaker for us, right?"

Adeline thought, "Could this person be our shipper? That would be seriously unhinged."

Harrison's smile deepened.

He pretended to ponder for a second, then said seriously, "Well, it's not impossible. I mean, we do make a great couple."

"Cut it out," Adeline gave him a light smack.

"I'm being serious here."

"So am I."

Harrison leaned closer. "Can you really say we're not a perfect match?"

Before Adeline could respond, his lips found hers.

They were alone in the car, and the windows were tinted.

He was growing bolder by the second.

Adeline bit down on his lip-hard.

Harrison winced.

"You're so cruel," he said. "Hey, I'm your husband, and you can't do this to me."

"No. Not yet." Adeline shoved him off and sat upright, adjusting her rumpled clothes.

Harrison laughed softly. "Sooner or later, I will be."

Adeline checked the time and said, "Well, but not now."

"So this 'someone you wanted me to meet' was it him?" Adeline changed the topic.

"Yep." Harrison nodded. "It's something that concerns you too, so I thought you should meet Kyson yourself."

Adeline leaned back in her seat, eyes closed.

"Boring. I'm hungry. Let's get lunch."

"What do you wanna do after lunch? Go home and take a nap?"

And no, by "nap," he didn't mean just sleeping.

Adeline replied, "It's the weekend, and we're already out. I don't wanna go home this early."

"Well, then, I'm coming with you to wherever you want to go."

He looked a little disappointed.

But he listened to her anyway.

That was fine. If she didn't want to "nap" at noon, then they'd nap at night.

They had lunch at a private kitchen.

Afterward, Adeline dragged Harrison to go clothes shopping.

Honestly, with her current status, she could easily have new designer pieces custom-made or sent straight to her home.

But she was bored and felt like strolling around.

At the mall, their personal concierge brought them straight to the VIP suite.

Several professional models were already waiting.

The suite even had a mini runway.

The models would try on the latest designs and show them to Adeline.

She didn't even need to try anything on herself.

She could just pick and buy.

So Adeline sat on the couch with Harrison, sipping fruit juice while watching the models do their thing.

After picking a few pieces, she told the models to take a break and headed to the restroom.

On her way back, she passed by the model lounge.

The door was ajar, and the models inside were chatting animatedly.

Adeline wasn't eavesdropping until she heard her name.

"Is that Adeline? Isn't she Mr. Thomson's secretary?" one of the models asked while touching up her makeup. "What's her deal now?"

"What else? She totally hooked up with Mr.

Thomson."

"I heard that Eleanor was Harrison's girlfriend."

"Please. Have you seen Eleanor lately? Rumor has it that she's already in detention. If you were Mr. Thomson, would you want her?"

"Looks like Miss Hensley really knows how to play the game."

"What game? It's just her face, honestly... I don't even think she's prettier than me."

"Wow, a little full of yourself, aren't you?"

"Am I wrong, though? Everyone used to say Mr. Thomson wasn't into women, but now that he's with Adeline. That myth's been busted. Men are fickle. Give me a few moves, and Mr. Thomson will be mine. Watch and see."

"Hey now, being a homewrecker isn't exactly moral."

"Moral, schmorral. I'm going head-to-head with her today."

Adeline was speechless.

She hadn't even crossed paths with these models before.

If anything, they should be thanking her. She had spent a spree, just earning them hefty commissions.

But fine. Gossiping behind her back, she could tolerate.

But declaring war? Seriously?

Just then, the lounge door opened, and a model walked out.

She froze when she saw Adeline. "W... What are you doing here?"

Adeline instantly recognized her voice.

Yup. It was the one who wanted to "go head-to-head" with Adeline.

"Just passing by," Adeline said with a smile.

"You heard... everything?" the model asked, pale-faced.

Adeline didn't bother to lie.

"Yep. Every word."

The model gritted her teeth and suddenly sneered. "So what if you did? I'll say it again.

I like Mr. Thomson. I want to be his woman.

You might be with him now, but it won't last.

He'll be mine soon."

Adeline replied with a casual, "Oh."

That single word hit harder than a slap.

The model would've preferred a shouting match, anything but this indifference.

But Adeline didn't even see her as a threat.

It was worse than being insulted.

The model had more to say, but Adeline was already turning to leave, clearly done with the conversation.

As she walked away, the model's hands clenched tightly at her sides.

The other models hurried out too, looking nervous.

"Oh my god, she heard everything you said?"

"Just let it go. The two of them are clearly happy. Why force yourself into it? You're just..."

The woman wanted to say, "You're just being a homewrecker."

But since they were coworkers, no one said it out loud.

"Tessa, did you hear what we said?"

Tessa Greene, the ambitious model in question, was known for her looks and ego.

Among her peers, she always stood out and thought highly of herself.

But right now, she couldn't hear anything they were saying.

All she could think about was the look in Adeline's eyes.

She wasn't giving up. She'd steal Harrison away.

Later, during the clothing showcase, Tessa was throwing every seductive move,

batting her lashes, and striking poses aimed at Harrison.

But he didn't notice, not because he was clueless.

He was simply too focused on helping Adeline pick clothes, studying cuts and colors, and imagining how they'd look on her.

He barely glanced at the models.

Tessa's smile froze on her face. But she still wasn't ready to give up.
