One night stand with my president( chapter 511)

Chapter 511: Going to Fight With My Brother

After Edward was kicked out of the Thomson family, Lorenzo refused to let him see Alondra, afraid he'd be a bad influence on her.

Alondra lived with him and Britney before, but back then, he hadn't shown his true colors yet.

And since Alondra was still young, Lorenzo could tell she was a good kid and hadn't been tainted by Edward.

So there was still time to keep her away from him.

But they were father and daughter.

Sometimes, Alondra would miss her dad.

Lorenzo was getting old, and he just couldn't bring himself to cut them off completely.

So every now and then, he'd allow Edward to call Alondra.

At first, Edward's calls were pretty normal.

He'd just remind her to eat well, listen to Lorenzo, and not make him mad.

But even then, he'd tell Alondra, "As long as you can hold your own in the Thomson family, maybe I'll get a chance to come back one day."

After everything that happened, Alondra finally understood what he meant by that.

Edward had been thrown out of the Thomson family, and now he was counting on Alondra as his ticket back.

Alondra thought that was understandable.

Edward was her father, after all. If she could help him, she wanted to.

But lately, the last couple of calls had felt different.

Something about Edward just seemed off.

He sounded busy all the time and lost patience.

Sometimes, he'd even sound a little annoyed.

And then, there were a few things he said that just seemed downright strange.

Alondra remembered one line in particular.

"It won't be long before Harrison gets what's coming to him. When that happens, I'll have a reason to move back into the Thomson family. Your grandpa's not getting any younger, you know. The company needs someone to run it..."

Alondra just couldn't figure out what he meant by that.

After all, she grew up in Yewhaina.

Even though she spoke Orianto's language, there were still some things she didn't get.

She asked her dad what it meant.

But it was like he realized he'd said too much, and he snapped at her and told her that kids shouldn't ask so many questions and that he was just talking nonsense.

Then, all in a rush, he told her to take care of herself and hung up.

But no matter what he said, Alondra just couldn't stop thinking about it, especially since he'd mentioned Harrison in that call.

Alondra thought, "Did this have something to do with Harrison? Is Dad going to fight with Harrison?"

All she could imagine was her dad getting into a brawl with Harrison.

She thought again, "But Harrison is so tall and strong. How could Dad possibly win? What if he got hurt?"

She couldn't eat or sleep, just worrying about it.

And there was no one she could talk to about any of it.

Now, sitting across from Adeline, she poured everything out.

It felt so good to finally talk to someone.

But as for those strange things Edward had said, she was still on the fence about sharing that part.

Adeline could tell there was more on her mind.

But she didn't rush Alondra. She just smiled gently and said, "Maybe your Dad's just really busy these days, so he sounds rushed.

If you miss him, you can always tell your family. You could ask them to call him for you."

Alondra shook her head. "It's not just that..."

After a pause, she asked, "What if Harrison really does fight my Dad? What do I do?"

Adeline reached over and ruffled her hair.

"That's not going to happen, sweetheart. You shouldn't let your imagination run wild."

Alondra was just a child. She shouldn't have to deal with this kind of thing.

"It could happen!" Alondra insisted, her voice tense. "I really think that's what my dad meant. He's going to fight Harrison."

The way she said it made Adeline's heart sink.

She didn't even need to ask what Edward's exact words were.

She could already guess.

"Your Dad was probably just letting off steam," Adeline soothed her. "Come on, don't worry so much. What you need to focus on is eating well, sleeping well, and growing up strong."

Alondra dropped her head. "That's what Grandpa says, too. He said soon he's going to hire tutors to come teach me at home."

Adeline thought, "So Lorenzo really isn't planning to let Alondra go to school."

In families like this, that wasn't unusual.

Lots of wealthy families just had their kids on the school roster, but all the real lessons happened at home with private teachers.

She had honestly thought Lorenzo would send Alondra to school, though.

After all, the Thomson family already had Harrison.

Alondra was still so young. She shouldn't have to face that kind of pressure.

But thinking about it, maybe Lorenzo was just afraid Edward would show up at the school to take her away.

When Adeline mentioned sleep,

Alondra's eyelids started drooping.

She really didn't want to go to bed, though.

Alondra had finally found someone she could talk to, someone who'd really listen.

She just didn't want it to end.

Adeline watched her little head bob up and down, eyes fighting to stay open, but Alondra was still too stubborn to admit she was tired.

With a gentle smile, she said, "You look really sleepy. Why don't you go get some rest? If you want to stay a few more days, I'll talk to your grandpa and see if you can stay longer. How about that?"

"Really?" Alondra's eyes lit up.

She wanted to stay but didn't dare ask, and she wasn't sure if her family would let her.

Sometimes, fate was a funny thing.

For some reason, she just liked Adeline and loved being around her.

There were so many things she couldn't tell anyone else, but with Adeline, she could say it all.

"Of course," Adeline promised, smiling. "But first, you need to go to bed."

"Okay." Alondra nodded obediently.

Adeline brought her to the guest room.

Adeline had planned to get her the brand-new toiletries she always kept on hand, but before she could, Alondra had already pulled her own toothbrush and toothpaste out of her little backpack, plus a stuffed animal.

Adeline had to laugh. "So, you were planning to sleep over even before you came, huh?"

Alondra shook her head. "I wasn't sure. But I thought I should bring everything I might need, just in case."

Adeline nodded approvingly.

Even at her age, she knew to be prepared.

She was definitely a Thomson family kid.

Alondra went to the bathroom, washed up on her own, and soon climbed into bed hugging her doll.

Afraid she might be scared, Adeline turned out the light but stayed with her a while.

But Alondra closed her eyes and fell asleep almost right away.

It wasn't long before Adeline heard her mumble in haralaan "Alam "

It wasn't long before Adeline heard her mumble in her sleep, "Mom..."
