One night stand with my president(chapter 396)

Chapter 396:Let's See Who's More Heartbroken

Benjamin's face darkened.

"Lance, is this how you're going to speak to me?"

"At a time like this, you're still lecturing me about attitude?" Lance couldn't hold back his roar. "Do you even know who's standing in front of me? Harrison!"

At these words, Benjamin's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Where are you?"

"I don't know. I was kidnapped by Harrison's people."

"What?" Benjamin frowned. "Aren't you at home?"

"I... I..." Lance stuttered.

The hesitation told Benjamin everything he needed to know.

It seemed that Lance had been messing around with Eleanor again, which was why Harrison had been able to capture him so easily.

If this had happened within the Tillman family's  territory, even Harrison wouldn't have dared to act so recklessly in Benjamin's house.

"What beef do you have with Harrison? I don't care." Lance snapped. "Don't drag me into this."

"What, you don't have any issues with Harrison?" Benjamin asked calmly.

Lance was momentarily speechless.

The truth was, he'd always been looking for a chance to end Harrison's life.

But he hadn't found the right opportunity yet.

He just didn't have the guts to go after Harrison.

"But right now, he's only doing this  because of that woman. You...."

Before Lance could finish his sentence, a faint sound came from the other end of the line.

Then, a cold, icy voice cut through the tension.

"Where's Adeline?"

Benjamin recognized it was Harrison's voice.

Benjamin chuckled darkly. "Harrison, do you really think you and Adeline are true love? If

that's the case, then go ahead and find her.

What, no telepathic connection between soulmates?"

"I don't have time for your jokes."

As soon as Harrison finished speaking, Lance let out a blood-curdling scream.

Benjamin's expression darkened.

"What have you done to Lance?"

"What do you think?"

"Harrison, Lance is the second child of the Tillman family. Before you lay a hand on him, you'd better think twice."

Harrison sneered, "You really think I still care about the Tillman family?"

Benjamin remained silent, his face tense.

After all, by taking Adeline, he had already made enemies with the Tillman, Thomson, and Mendoza families.

He didn't care about the consequences.

He had considered the repercussions and was prepared for them.

What he hadn't expected was for Lance, this useless fool, to be caught by Harrison so easily.

"I'll ask you again, where is Adeline?"

Harrison's voice was seething with barely contained fury.

"Adeline? Of course, she's with me," Benjamin taunted. "Harrison, I'm never letting her go back to you. I told you. She's mine."

As soon as he finished speaking, Lance's scream rang out again.

At that moment, Benjamin quickly weighed his options.

Lance might be his brother, but he was a burden nothing more than a spoiled brat with a noble title and no real ability.

Having such a brother was more of a liability.

It would be easier to just abandon Lance than to let Harrison use him to threaten him into giving up Adeline.

But just then, he suddenly heard Lance's furious shout.

"Benjamin, if you give up on me for that woman, our father will never forgive you. Don't forget, you still haven't fully taken over as head of the family. If you let me die over some woman, do you still think you'll inherit the Tillman family? Dream on."

Lance's roar felt like a bucket of cold water poured over Benjamin, snapping him back to his senses.

After all, over the past few days, he had lost himself in Adeline.

He hadn't thought it through.

Lance wasn't someone he could just cast aside without consequences.

If their father or the rest of the family found out, he'd lose his position as heir for sure.

"Did you hear Lance's heartfelt words?"

Harrison's voice was icy. "Tell me, where is Adeline?"

Benjamin's fingers slowly tightened into fists.

“Answer me!" Harrison commanded.

"Harrison, you must know by now. I'm only using Adeline as a substitute."

This was the first time Benjamin openly admitted it.

He sneered and continued, "Since she's just a substitute, she's not that special. Sure, I'm interested in her right now, but if you really dare to kill my brother, I'll kill her right away. Can you bear that?"

Sure enough, Harrison fell silent.

Benjamin knew that Adeline was his Achilles' heel.

"If you want to keep Lance, fine, keep him. I won't tell you where Adeline is. You can torment Lance all you want, but if you kill him, I'll kill her. Let's see who's more heartbroken at the end of this."

He hung up the phone immediately.

But his expression was as dark as a storm cloud.

In truth, he was gambling.

Gambling that Harrison wouldn't dare to kill

Lance for Adeline.

As long as he could save Lance, everything else would be negotiable.

After hanging up, Benjamin's face remained grim, a deep storm of thoughts brewing.

Harrison glanced at Lance.

Lance felt a chill run down his spine.

Harrison's face was sullen. He was furious after his conversation with Benjamin.

Benjamin, that damn fool-he'd abandoned his own brother for a woman.

"You... you can't hurt me..." Lance stammered, terrified. "This is Mugroaton. My family's already probably looking for me. If you harm me, you'll be dead!"

Harrison waved his hand dismissively, signaling his men to take Lance away.

After Lance was dragged out, Alberto couldn't hold back his impatience. "So? What's the situation?"

“Lance is basically useless now," Harrison said coldly.

Benjamin didn't care about that useless brother of his.

He just didn't want the family to get upset with him.

Besides, as Benjamin said, Adeline was still in his hands.

While he didn't think Benjamin would actually harm her, he didn't dare take the chance.

Even with a one-in-a-thousand possibility, he wouldn't take that risk.

Because he couldn't bear the thought of Adeline getting hurt.

Hearing Harrison's words, Alberto's heart sank.

He couldn't help but slap himself across the face.

"It's my fault. I should've stayed by Adeline's side... If I had just stayed with her..."

"Stop it," Harrison interrupted, pulling out his phone. "Right now, the most important thing is finding Adeline."
