Chapter 394: What Do You Think You're Doing?
No matter what, Adeline couldn't starve herself.
Adeline forced herself to eat a lot.
"Did you see that?" Adeline said to the maid.
"Tell Benjamin my stomach's fine."
"Yes, miss," the maid nodded. "But the blood test is mainly to check if you're pregnant. I think Mr. Tillman is quite concerned about it."
"If he cares so much, why doesn't he get his own blood drawn?"
"If he drew his own, it wouldn't show if you're pregnant," the maid replied seriously.
Adeline couldn't help it; she laughed at the maid's bluntness.
She thought this maid's personality was a bit like Georgia's.
"What's your name?" Adeline asked.
"Jessica Carter," the maid replied. "My colleague is Natalia Pitts."
Natalia was the other maid.
Adeline casually asked, "Are you from Daltoria?"
"Yes," the maid replied.
"Then how do you know Benjamin? He's from Mugroaton."
"Our fathers both work for the Tillman family," she explained.
Adeline understood.
It made sense -the Tillman family was based in Mugroaton, but with such a large family, it was normal to have connections in Daltoria.
"So, you two must get paid pretty well working here?" Adeline asked. "I bet Benjamin doesn't let you contact the outside world."
"Yes, Mr. Tillman pays us handsomely. But we really can't contact the outside world, not even our parents know where we are."
"Geez, he's really ruthless."
"It's not so bad. Our parents know we're working for Mr. Tillman, so they're not worried about us." Adeline didn't say anything else, taking a sip of her juice.
It seemed like the two maids didn't have phones either.
Right now, the only person in the house who could contact the outside world was Benjamin.
He probably had a phone in his room.
But how could she get her hands on it?
Outside the suburbs, a few black cars stopped in front of a two-story house.
A servant hurried upstairs to knock on a door.
Inside, a muffled, intimate sound abruptly stopped.
Then came Lance's angry voice.
"Get out!"
"Mr. Lance, please come out. There are people outside saying they need to see you..." the servant stammered.
After a while, the door opened.
Only Lance's lower half, wrapped in a towel, appeared at the door.
"Who is it?" he asked impatiently.
His upper body had various marks on it. The servant didn't dare look up, only muttered, "I don't know... they said they want to see you.
They look really scary..."
Before the servant could finish speaking, heavy footsteps echoed.
It seemed like someone was coming upstairs.
"Who's so bold to come straight up?" Lance spat angrily. "What's the downstairs crew doing? Why didn't they stop them?"
Just as he finished, several men appeared at the top of the stairs.
When Lance saw the man in the lead, his pupils trembled violently.
"Harrison?"
Lance never expected the person standing before him would be Harrison.
Meanwhile, Eleanor, who was lying on the bed waiting for Lance, froze in shock.
She thought, "Harrison is here? How did he get here?"
Eleanor didn't have time to think too much. She hurriedly sat up and started getting dressed.
Outside, Lance's face had turned pale with fury.
He hadn't expected Harrison to show up here.
He wondered if Harrison was here to find Eleanor.
After all, Eleanor had always liked Harrison...
Lance felt a surge of displeasure.
With a sarcastic tone, he spoke, "Oh, Mr.
Thomson? What brings you to Mugroaton?
What's the occasion?"
When Harrison reached him, Lance frowned.
This time, he really saw Harrison's face clearly.
Harrison's eyes were bloodshot.
"Where's Benjamin?" Harrison's voice was raspy.
"Benjamin?" Lance said, confused. "How should I know where he is?"
"Are you sure you don't know?" Harrison's voice was cold.
"Of course I don't! Why would he report to me on where he's going? Besides..."
He glanced towards the room.
Besides, he had been spending most of his time here, with Eleanor.
He hadn't been in touch with Benjamin much.
Harrison made a gesture.
Several men behind him stepped forward and immediately pinned Lance down.
"Harrison!" Lance shouted furiously. "What are you doing? Have you lost your mind?"
This was Mugroaton, not Harrison's turf.
He dared to lay a hand on Lance here?
Hearing Lance's scream, Eleanor hurried to the door, peeking out from behind it.
Although she had long since given up on Harrison, seeing him again made her heart ache.
But something seemed off about Harrison.
She had never seen him looking so worn out.
Even his chin had faint stubble.
But in a strange way, it added a touch of rugged charm to him.
Eleanor really wanted to run out and hug him.
But she didn't dare.
She feared Harrison would just drag her back.
She thought Lance would protect her, but now... Without Benjamin, Lance wasn't a match for Harrison.
"Harrison, what do you want? If you lay a hand on me, the Tillman family won't let you off!"
Harrison didn't respond. He simply turned and walked away.
The men followed, dragging Lance forward.
Lance screamed until his throat went hoarse, but it was useless.
As they left, Harrison's gaze flicked briefly over Eleanor's face.
Eleanor's heart skipped a beat.
But Harrison didn't seem interested in her at all.
He didn't say a word to her and left quickly.
After they dragged Lance downstairs, he saw that all the bodyguards he had stationed here had been knocked out and were lying groaning on the floor.
"Bunch of useless fools." Lance gritted his teeth.
He yelled at Harrison, "What's your beef with Benjamin? Why are you taking it out on me?"
But his words fell on deaf ears.
Harrison's men forcibly bundled him into a car, tying his hands and feet with ropes.
Lance was on the verge of breaking down.
As the second son of the Tillman family, he had never been treated like this before.
"Harrison, are you insane?"
Harrison got into the car as well.
The space inside was vast. Harrison sat across from Lance, staring at him.
