One night stand with my president(chapter 388)

Chapter 388: How Could I Be Happy?

As Ronan spoke, tears streamed down his face, and he was a mess.

Harrison handed him a couple of tissues.

Ronan wiped his tears, then said, "I've been thinking a lot these past few days. I can't live the way I used to. So... I want to continue my studies. My abilities are still too limited, and I want to learn more."

"Okay," Harrison said.

"I want to study abroad."

Honestly, studying in Orianto would be the same.

But Ronan just wanted to get away, to leave this painful place behind, if only for a while.

"That's fine," Harrison agreed. "Wherever you want to go, I'll arrange it. But I hope that once you leave, it's because you truly want to learn, not just to escape."

"Don't worry," Ronan said with a bitter smile.

"At this point, if I don't push myself, I won't be able to forgive myself."

He paused for a moment before adding, "Before I go abroad, I want to see my mom."

"Alright," Harrison said.

Even criminals have the right to be visited.

Harrison couldn't possibly deny Ronan the chance to visit his mother.

"And, Miss Hensley..."

Ronan hesitated before continuing, "Harrison, I know this might not need saying, but I still want to tell you-take good care of her."

"I will."

Ronan smiled again, a little weakly. "Maybe by the time I come back, I'll have a nephew or niece."

His words lifted Harrison's mood.

"Harrison, I really envy you," Ronan added, his tone a little sour. "If only Miss Hensley liked me instead."

Just as he finished speaking, he saw Harrison's eyes flash dangerously.

"Of course, there's no 'if' in this world."

Ronan couldn't help but recall the moment he first met Adeline.

She was so gentle, and her smile... so beautiful.

He had truly liked Adeline, once.

But from now on, he couldn't afford to like her anymore.

Just then, Harrison's phone rang.

He picked up immediately.

After hearing the voice on the other end, Harrison's expression changed in an instant. He jumped out of his seat, his face filled with alarm.

"What?"

Ronan was startled by the sudden change.

He looked up and saw a look of panic on Harrison's face.

"I understand. I'll be there right away," Harrison said.

After hanging up, Harrison didn't even

explain to Ronan. He left in a rush.

Ronan belatedly realized that something might have happened to Adeline.

Otherwise, Harrison wouldn't be this panicked.

That thought made Ronan anxious as well. He quickly got up to follow Harrison.

But Harrison was walking too fast.

As he walked, Harrison was already dialing to arrange for a private jet to take off. He was heading straight for Yewhaina.

Ronan thought, "Yewhaina... something has happened to Adeline."

"Harrison!" Ronan panted, trailing behind.

“What happened to Miss Hensley? What's going on with her?"

But Harrison had no time to answer.

After arranging for the jet, he immediately began organizing people to investigate Adeline's disappearance.

Adeline was missing in Yewhaina...

Harrison's first thought was Pedro.

But just now, Isaac had mentioned on the phone that Pedro was still in their custody.

Though Harrison didn't have much direct contact with Pedro, he could tell that Pedro was the type of guy who, on his own, would only dream of gathering a few people to rough him up.

Even if Adeline's disappearance was somehow connected to him, he wouldn't be the mastermind.

The true mastermind was someone else.

Harrison thought, "Could it be Benjamin?"

Harrison's fingers clenched tightly.

If something had really happened to Adeline, no matter what it took, he would flatten the entire Tillman family.

When Adeline woke up, she still felt groggy and disoriented.

She rubbed her head and sat up, and the memories of what happened before she passed out came flooding back.

She had been tricked by a maid and led into the garden, then someone had knocked her out.

"I told you, you'd be mine."

The man's voice startled her.

Adeline turned sharply.

Sitting on the couch nearby was none other than Benjamin.

He was holding a glass of red wine, gently swirling it.

"It's you," Adeline said coldly.

"It's me," Benjamin grinned, his smile almost mocking. "What, you're not happy to see me?"

Adeline rolled her eyes.

"Could you maybe use your brain? You think I'm happy right now?"

Benjamin was speechless.

His mouth twitched, but this reaction didn't surprise him much.

"Even if you're not happy, it doesn't matter, he said. "You're on my private jet right now."

She was thinking of jumping off the plane.

"Care for a drink?" Benjamin asked.

Adeline ignored him.

Her mind was racing, calculating her next move.

Now she was on Benjamin's private jet.

The jet had taken off from Yewhaina, and the Mendoza family could easily track its destination.

But once they landed, he could move her again, and the Mendoza family wouldn't have time to catch up.

She thought, "What are my chances of escaping? Not great, it seems."

Benjamin would definitely be keeping a close eye on her.

But still, she had to try.

If she could escape and find a place with people, maybe get a phone and contact the Mendoza family or Harrison, they could track her location.

"What's this. thinking about how to escape and contact your family?" Benjamin chuckled.

Adeline didn't answer his question. Instead, she asked, "Do you know that by kidnapping me, you've made enemies with both the Mendoza family and the Thomson family?"

"Please don't use the word 'kidnapping,' alright?"

Benjamin frowned. "It sounds so harsh."

"Harsh? Just because it's harsh doesn't mean it's not the truth," Adeline retorted with a cold smile.

"Isn't this kidnapping?"

"I just want to bring my true love back to my side."

Adeline almost gagged. "Can you stop insulting the word 'true love'?"

"I know you probably hate me right now, but it's fine," Benjamin said, his tone disturbingly calm.

"I'll spend a lifetime proving to you that I am the one who truly loves you more than anyone else in this world."

He drank the wine in his glass, then stood up and walked over to the table. He grabbed the wine bottle and poured himself more.

"And for that, I don't care if I have to go up against the whole world."

He spoke these "touching" words, but Adeline's face remained stone cold.

Benjamin was an expert at beautifying his vile actions.

"Even if you force me to stay with you, it won't work," Adeline said icily. "The only person I will everlove is Harrison."

As soon as she finished speaking, a look of intense anger flashed across Benjamin's face.
