One night stand with my president(chapter 461)

Chapter 461: A Feast of Roasted Lamb

After saying this, Harrison pulled her even tighter into his embrace.

Adeline knew that something had happened when Harrison returned to the Thomson family.

And it was most likely related to Edward.

Though Harrison usually maintained a cold demeanor toward Edward, Edward was still his biological father.

His feelings toward Edward were actually quite complicated.

After a long silence, Harrison released her.

The bedside lamp emitted a soft, dim light.

Judging by his appearance, it seemed that his emotions had settled.

"Did you go drinking?" Adeline asked.

"Alone?"

"Yeah," Harrison nodded gently.

"With all this alcohol on you, how much did you drink?" Adeline frowned slightly.

It wasn't that she disliked the smell, but she was worried that drinking too much might hurt his health.

Harrison smiled at her.

Adeline tugged at his hair.

"Why didn't you call me? I could have come to keep you company."

"I was worried you'd be asleep, and it was so late. I didn't want to disturb you," Harrison replied honestly.

"Go take a shower first," Adeline suggested. "And change your clothes."

"Okay." Harrison listened to her, and instead of asking her to join him, he undressed and went into the bathroom.

Before long, the sound of water splashing filled the air.

Though he'd had quite a bit to drink, he still remembered to dry himself off and blow-dry his hair before climbing into bed to hold Adeline.

"Go to sleep," Adeline told him. "If anything comes up, we'll talk about it in the morning."

"Okay."

Adeline turned off the bedside lamp, and they both closed their eyes, preparing to sleep.

However, not long after, Harrison suddenly called out to her. "Adeline."

"Yes?"

"You promised to take me out for roasted lamb," Harrison said.

Adeline was speechless.

That had been from last year.

He hadn't mentioned it in a while.

Now, drunk, he remembered.

Well, the last time, she had promised him while he was drunk.

"Okay, I'll take you," Adeline said helplessly.

"I'll make a reservation for us tomorrow."

"But... can two of us really finish a whole lamb?" Harrison said.

Of course not. After thinking for a moment, Adeline suggested, "How about we invite the colleagues from the executive office? We can treat it like a team-bonding event. What do you think?"

"Okay."

At this point, Harrison would agree to anything she said.

After agreeing, he held her tightly, the alcohol taking effect, and he quickly fell asleep.

Adeline, however, found herself suddenly wide awake. She stared at his sleeping face, afraid of waking him, and after a long pause, she gently pushed his arm away and reached for her phone.

To her surprise, when she picked it up, she saw a message from an unknown number.

She opened it and, after reading the contents, frowned.

"Miss Hensley, it's Jasmine. If you have time, can we meet?"

"What did Jasmine want?" Adeline

thought.

The last time they met, Jasmine had used her to lure Russell, and then set him up to ruin her life and cause her to lose her child.

Had Jasmine forgotten that?

And now she dared to ask Adeline to meet?

Adeline felt speechless.

She had no intention of replying at first, planning to block Jasmine outright.

But then, he remembered how Jasmine had used Anna last time.

If she ignored Jasmine now, would Jasmine use someone else around Adeline again?

Adeline didn't want to drag innocent people into it.

So, she replied to the message.

"I don't have time to meet with you. Please don't bother me again. And if you try to hurt anyone around me again, just wait. I'll make you pay the price."

After she sent it, Jasmine quickly replied again.

"Miss Hensley, I'm really sorry for what happened before. I was wrong. Now, Russell won't let me go, and the only person who can talk to him is you. Can you help me just this once? Just this once."

Adeline froze for a moment.

She thought, "So Russell was starting to deal with Jasmine?"

It made sense.

After all, Jasmine had slandered him so badly last time.

He couldn't continue to stay silent.

But Jasmine was really something.

She had the nerve to come begging her.

Adeline really had no interest in dealing with Jasmine's issues.

Even without the whole plot involving Jasmine, she had no right to get involved in the Hunter family's affairs.

Moreover, after everything that had happened, she definitely wasn't going to help Jasmine.

So, she decisively replied, "No," and blocked Jasmine.

She had said what she needed to say.

She figured Jasmine would never dare to mess with her again.

After blocking Jasmine, Adeline scrolled through Instagram for a while.

Joyce and Sam were as happy as ever.

They posted travel photos and love pictures daily.

Joyce even asked her to like them.

But seeing Joyce so happy now, Adeline couldn't help but feel happy for her.

After a while of browsing Instagram, Adeline began to feel sleepy.

She turned and snuggled up to Harrison, slowly drifting off to sleep.

The next morning, Adeline woke up to several new messages.

They came from a different unknown number.

All of them were messages from Jasmine, begging for her help.

Adeline couldn't be bothered to read them carefully. She quickly glanced through them and added the new number to her blacklist as well.

Probably because she had drunk too much the night before, Harrison hadn't woken up yet.

Adeline checked the time, and seeing that it was still early, she didn't wake him. She went to the kitchen to make breakfast first, and then returned to the bedroom to wake him up.

Harrison opened his eyes with a slightly dazed look and stared at Adeline.

After sitting up for a while, he finally said, "I dreamt last night that we were going out for roasted lamb together."

Adeline smiled and said, "Is that because we're going for roasted lamb today?"

"Hm?" Harrison looked at her in confusion.

"Did you forget what you said last night?"

Adeline pinched his face.

Harrison really had forgotten.

"You said last night that I promised to take you out for roasted lamb, but I hadn't done it yet, so we decided to bring the executive office team along for dinner tonight."

When Adeline said this, Harrison finally started to remember, though groggily. He rubbed his temples and said, "I drank too much last night."

"Alright, go wash up, and I'll make you some oatmeal for breakfast."

Since Harrison had drunk last night, Adeline thought oatmeal would be easier on his stomach this morning.

After Harrison washed up and changed, he sat down with Adeline at the dining table to have breakfast.

During breakfast, he told Adeline about Edward.

After hearing this, Adeline could only sigh quietly.

"I really don't understand. Why has the father I once admired changed so much?"

Harrison's fingers tightened slowly.

Or maybe, when he was a child, he never truly understood Edward.

  2. It sounds strange to understand that Harrison's father that was admired as a little boy is now acting strange at the boy's grown up age.
