One night stand with my president(chapter 434)

Chapter 434: Is It Sweet?

Joyce's vague reply was driving Adeline crazy with curiosity.

Back when Adeline first got together with Harrison, Joyce had hounded her nonstop, always begging for details, wanting to know everything about their budding relationship. And now, the tables had turned.

Adeline found herself in the exact same mindset.

After all, it was her best friend's love life-how could she not care? Seeing her fidget impatiently, Harrison chuckled and popped a strawberry into her mouth. "Relax," he said, smiling. "She'll tell you everything when the time's right."

"Yeah, you're right," Adeline sighed. "They just got together. I shouldn't be bothering them while they're still in their honeymoon phase."

Harrison hummed in agreement and fed her another strawberry. "I spoke to the doctor. He said you'll be ready for discharge in a week. When the time comes, do you want to go back to Yewhaina first, or head straight to Orianto?" Adeline thought for a moment before answering, "I'll go home to Yewhaina first. My family's been worried sick since the kidnapping. I should stay with them for a bit."

Besides, there was still the matter of Pedro-the man Benjamin had worked with.

That situation hadn't been dealt with yet.

She needed to ask him face-to-face what she had done to deserve such betrayal. Why had he hurt her?

"Alright," Harrison said, leaning down to kiss her on the forehead. "I'll go with you."

"You'll come with me?" Adeline blinked, touched but worried. "What about the company?"

She had worked at the Thomson Group for over five years, and although she hadn't officially resigned, she still felt a strong sense of responsibility toward the team.

"Don't worry. I've already made arrangements,"

Harrison assured her. "Everything will be fine."

"I wonder if the staff at the executive office even noticed I was gone," Adeline said with

"Especially Anna..."

At the mention of Anna, Harrison's expression shifted slightly. He couldn't help but recall the fight they had during that period.

His brows drew together. The incident had passed, but the memory of it still left a bitter taste.

Still, he didn't blame Anna. She had been deceived-just like everyone else.

His thoughts then drifted to Russell.

That guy was still in Daltoria.

Russell had originally come for business, but the negotiations had wrapped up days ago, and yet, he hadn't left.

Harrison thought, "Was he waiting for Adeline to be discharged?"

While Harrison silently mulled over the thought, a soft, warm hand suddenly slipped into his.

Then Adeline's voice brought him back.

"Alright, stop overthinking."

Harrison looked down at her, smiled, and gently squeezed her hand in return. "I know," he said.

He picked up another strawberry and held it to her lips.

Adeline took a bite, then another-but suddenly, her expression scrunched up into a tight frown.

"Ugh, why is this one so sour?"

"Really?" Harrison's brows furrowed with concern. "Spit it out. Don't force yourself."

But Adeline had already swallowed it. "It's fine," she said, waving it off.

Still, Harrison quickly peeled a candy and handed it to her.

She had been taking bitter medicine the past few days and always complained about the taste, so Harrison had made sure to keep sweets on hand just for her.

After she popped the candy in her mouth, he asked gently, "Is it sweet?"

She didn't answer. Instead, she leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

Then, eyes sparkling, she grinned. "Well? Sweet or not?"

It had only been a light kiss-barely a brush-but in that moment, Harrison couldn't care less about the actual taste of the candy.

Somehow, his lips still tingled with a warmth that felt almost sugary.

"It's sweet," he said with a smile, gently stroking her head.

Meanwhile, outside the hotel, the car slowly pulled up to the entrance.

Sam and Joyce stepped out together, still holding hands as they entered the elevator.

They stood close-very close.

Joyce could feel her heart pounding in her chest.

They had come back to the hotel together before, but this time, it was different.

Everything had changed.

Now, they weren't just friends anymore.

They were officially together. They were a

couple.
