Chapter 401: I’ve Been Thinking About You
"Harrison." The "waiter" was none other than Kira.
Although she had just been scolded by Bruce, she wasn't ready to give up.
She had handed over the food box to Bruce, but she figured he wouldn't actually deliver it.
Kira pretended to agree to go home, but in reality, she secretly snuck into the staff break room and changed into a waiter's uniform.
Then, she headed to the kitchen, where she saw a waiter pushing a trolley, and a manager was telling him that this delivery was for Harrison and had to be done carefully.
Kira intercepted the waiter, saying she would take it to Harrison.
The manager and the waiter both knew her and recognized her as Bruce's daughter.
After all, this hotel was managed by Bruce.
They didn't dare to stop her.
They could only let Kira be.
so, mira disguisea nersen as a walter and made her way to Harrison.
"Harrison, don't you remember me?" Kira asked, her voice trembling with excitement. "It's me, Kira."
The moment she said the name, Harrison remembered.
"Oh, it's Kira." Harrison rubbed his temple.
His only impression of Kira was that she was
"Bruce's daughter," and right now, he didn't have the energy to think too much. He just assumed Bruce had sent her to help.
"Harrison." Kira moved a little closer. "I've missed you so much these past years... I've been thinking about you..."
The words caught Harrison off guard, and he sensed something wasn't right.
Still, he couldn't tell if he was just overthinking it.
To avoid upsetting Bruce, he didn't say much, merely stepping aside and saying, "I'm all set here. You should go take a break."
"Harrison, it's been so long. Don't you
want to talk to me?" Kira asked.
Her gaze became more intense.
Harrison's expression hardened.
He bluntly said, "I don't have time to talk. You can leave now."
"Harrison..."
"Kira, I'm not going to say anything harsh for the sake of Bruce, but please, leave."
Harrison frowned. "Now."
His face was so cold that Kira felt a flicker of fear.
With no choice, she said, "Alright, I'll go for now. But if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me."
She glanced at him one last time and then exited the room.
Harrison rubbed his tired temples, his mind in a fog.
The trolley before him was full of Orianto food, likely because Bruce had anticipated he might not be able to stomach Daltoria food, so Bruce had ordered the kitchen to prepare Orianto dishes instead.
The food looked beautiful, rich in color, aroma, and taste, yet Harrison had no appetite.
Since hearing about Adeline's disappearance, he had barely eaten.
If it hadn't been for Alberto arranging for a doctor to administer nutrition fluids, Harrison might have collapsed by now.
Staring at the food, Harrison forced himself to take a bite.
Even if he didn't feel hungry, he needed to replenish his strength.
As he ate, he kept checking his phone, sending texts, and making calls.
All the conversations revolved around Adeline.
Even though he had arrived in Daltoria, he still couldn't confirm whether Adeline was actually here.
So the search had to continue, worldwide.
He didn't know where Benjamin might have taken Adeline.
Searching across the world was like finding a needle in a haystack.
But Harrison couldn't give up.
The suite Bruce had arranged for him had both a living room and a bedroom.
After eating a little, Harrison moved to the bedroom.
His mind was constantly on edge, making sleep impossible.
But even a short nap would help.
As soon as he lay down and closed his eyes, a thought suddenly flashed in his mind.
Benjamin had always seen Adeline as a stand-in for Whitney.
Now that he had kidnapped Adeline, it must be for the same purpose-to make her "replace" Whitney by his side.
If that was the case, could the place where
Adeline was being kept be somehow related to Whitney?
Perhaps the construction team came to Daltoria to build something according to Whitney's preferences.
Maybe Adeline was trapped in that very building.
With this thought, Harrison immediately grabbed his phone and pulled up a document.
It was the detailed information the Mendoza family had gathered about Whitney.
He focused and read through it carefully.
Whitney had many interests, like piano, swimming, dancing...
Nothing seemed particularly out of the ordinary.
But then, on the next page, he noticed a section that caught his attention.
It mentioned that Whitney had a fondness for fairy tales and that Benjamin had built her a theater, hiring actors to perform fairy tales for her whenever she wished.
Harrison thought, "Fairy tales... Could it be related to this?"
Harrison wasn't sure if it was a lead, but he had to try.
He immediately called Bruce.
"Harrison, you're still up? You should get some rest," Bruce urged him.
"Bruce, please have someone search Daltoria for any buildings related to fairy tales," Harrison said.
"Preferably ones built in the last year."
"Fairy tales? Alright, I'll have someone look into it right away," Bruce quickly responded before hanging up.
Harrison then contacted the Mendoza family.
He asked them to look for similar buildings elsewhere.
While it was true that the team Benjamin hired had flown to Daltoria, that didn't mean Adeline was definitely here.
What if the building they constructed in Daltoria had nothing to do with Whitney?
So, he couldn't disregard other places entirely.
After finishing his call with the Mendoza family, Harrison still couldn't sleep. He decided to search online for fairy tale-related locations in Daltoria.
He found a few places-popular attractions and theaters, but none seemed to be suitable for hiding someone.
Once he closed the browser, his phone screen saver caught his eye.
It was a picture of Adeline.
"Adeline..." he whispered, "Don't worry. I will find you. Wait for me."
Adeline had drunk a little, so she dozed off on the bed for a while.
When it was time for dinner, the maid knocked on her door and asked, "Miss, what would you like for dinner?"
Adeline, still groggy, opened her eyes and said, "I'm not hungry. I have no appetite."
The maid, unsure what to do since Adeline wasn't eating, went to find Benjamin.
Benjamin had just woken up, and when the maid told him Adeline wasn't eating, he frowned.
"She's upset," Benjamin said. "But she still needs to eat. Go tell the chef to prepare something light to stimulate her appetite."
"Yes, sir." After the maid left, Benjamin knocked on Adeline's door.
