One night stand with my president(chapter 382)

Chapter 382 You're So Overbearing

Marshall wasn't in good health, and he and his father had never really stood out in the Thomson family.

Even during the New Year, they would quietly have dinner and then retreat to their rooms.

He never had much of a relationship with Milania.

Harrison thought, "What could he possibly talk about with her?"

Harrison glanced again at the two security guards.

One of them spoke up, "Tonight, we had the third shift guarding the front gate, and the second shift was at the small gate on the west side."

The other security guard, clearly nervous, wiped the sweat off his forehead before continuing, "We were supposed to be on duty as usual, but Mr. Marshall suddenly came to us and said that his friends had sent him a lot of gifts. He didn't have enough help, and he asked if we could go assist him. We didn't feel like we could refuse. I left one person guarding the west gate, but Mr.

Marshall said there was too much stuff, and asked us all to help. I thought... the west gate doesn't get much traffic, so it wouldn't be an issue just moving things for a short while..."

Before he could finish, Harrison's cold, emotionless gaze fell upon him.

"Wouldn't be an issue?" Harrison's voice was unreadable, "So this is how you lead your team, as a second shift captain?"

The security guard winced and said, "I'm sorry, young master."

"You're fired. I'll assign someone else," Harrison said.

The security guard felt the weight of his words.

With no defense, he kept quiet and continued about Marshall.

"When we got there, we saw many boxes. We helped carry them into their storage room."

"Why would Marshall ask you to help?" Harrison asked.

"They don't have many servants in their quarters.

The two of them-father and son-don't make a fuss about things. They prefer handling matters on their own. Their courtyard is close to the west gate, and we're often stationed there, so Mr. Marshall knows us a bit better."

The guard was speaking plainly, and on the surface, there seemed to be nothing suspicious about it.

The other security guard hesitated, then said cautiously, "I think this might be a coincidence. Mr. Marshall is in poor health and usually doesn't get involved in other people's affairs. He wouldn't have any reason to help Milania escape.

What could he possibly gain from that?"

Harrison didn't respond, just made a gesture for them to leave.

He stayed in the study, continuing to text Adeline.

After talking about Milania, Adeline mentioned that she would be attending a party at the Livingston family in a few days.

Harrison frowned slightly and said, "Pedro's been making advances toward you. Keep your distance from him."

Adeline laughed, "Don't worry. I'll be with my family at the party. There's no reason for me to be alone with Pedro."

Then she teased, "What, are you jealous of Pedro now?"

"Should I be jealous of anyone?" Harrison asked with a faint, amused tone.

"You shouldn't be jealous of anyone," Adeline said firmly.

Harrison chuckled softly and asked, "How come I never noticed before how overbearing you are?"

"Well, you'd better get used to it," Adeline replied, "I'm just a regular person who suddenly became a rich lady, so of course, l'll be a little overbearing."

"I guess you're right." Harrison sighed dramatically, "Then I'll have to endure some suffering."

"Huh? So you're saying it's suffering being with me?"

"No."

After a bit more lighthearted banter, they returned to serious talk.

"When do you plan on having the police take

Milania away?"

"Tomorrow morning," Harrison said. "It's too late now, and we shouldn't disturb the police."

"Okay." Adeline had no sympathy for Milania, but she was worried about Ronan.

"Mr. Thomson is still young, and it will take him some time to process everything," she said. "If you have time, try talking to him."

"I fear he might want you to talk to him more than me."

"Oh, not this again," Adeline pretended to be angry. "I'm just trying to be practical here."

Harrison didn't joke back. "I'll talk to him. But I think, with Isaline by his side, he won't need me as much."

"That's true. Are they getting along well?"

"From what I can see, yes, they seem to be fine."

"That's good."

Harrison tapped his desk calendar. "In three days... the Thomson Group will be starting up again."

Adeline smiled. "In that case, I guess Mr.

Thomson will have to give me a few extra days off."

"How many days?"

"Not sure," Adeline said. "I haven't decided when I'll go back to Orianto yet."

Harrison fell silent.

Adeline could only hear the sound of his breathing.

But from the sound of it, she could tell he felt somewhat aggrieved.

He was hurt, but he didn't say a word.

After all, Adeline had just spent the New Year with her family.

She deserved to spend a little more time with them.

"Okay," Adeline comforted him. "Once I decide when I'm going back to Orianto, I'll let you know, alright?"

"Alright." Harrison said, "When things settle down, I'll come to Yewhaina to be with you, and then we'll go back together."

"Do you have time for that?" Adeline asked.

"Time is something you make."

He would always make time for her, no matter how busy he was.

They chatted aimlessly, not wanting to hang up.

Eventually, it was Adeline who said, "It's getting late in Orianto. You should get some sleep."

Harrison finally ended the call.

The next morning, the police arrived at the Thomson villa and took Milania away.

The whole affair was a scandal, to say the least.

The Thomson family asked the police to keep it quiet.

Naturally, no one in the Thomson family would speak about it either.

Milania was handcuffed.

As she was being escorted to the police car, she looked back.

She wanted to see Ashton and Ronan one last time.

But the two of them, seemingly in unspoken agreement, didn't come out.

Milania's heart ached, cold and heavy

With red-rimmed eyes, she turned to the maid beside her. "Where's Ashton and Ronan?"

The maid, who was from the third courtyard, hesitated. Out of some faint loyalty, she had come to see Milania off.

Hearing the question, she sighed and answered truthfully, "They're in their rooms, and they haven't come out."

Milania smiled bitterly, "I'm their wife, their mother.., and yet, as I leave, they won't even come to say goodbye?"

The maid didn't know what to say. She just

mumbled, "Goodbye, Mama."

The police didn't wait any longer and forced her into the car.

The car started, pulling away.

Milania couldn't stop herself from looking back through the window.

She watched as the Thomson villa grew smaller in the distance, and memories of the day she first entered the house flooded her mind.

She had been young, vibrant, and full of ambition.

She thought she had finally made it into high society.

She imagined she would live a life of luxury and power.

But that wasn't enough. She craved more-she wanted even greater power, she wanted the Thomson Group.

But reality had hit her hard.

She had been skilled at manipulating men, and marrying Ashton to get into the Thomson family had been easy. But the world of high society and business wasn't as simple as she thought.

  1. Manipulating a man is so easy to you Milliana but the world of high society and business, wasn't as simple as Milliana thought. Which she failed in all her plots.
