One night stand with my president (chapter 410)

Chapter 410: The Candy House Discovered

Adeline was about to reveal her identity when she suddenly hesitated.

"The woman on the other end of the line addressed Harrison in a very familiar tone.

Couldn't it be..?" Adeline thought

She wasn't sure if her guess was correct, but if the woman on the phone really had feelings for Harrison, then revealing herself might cause more trouble than it was worth.

So, she said, "I need to speak with Harrison about something important, please hand the phone over to him."

At that moment, Kira's intellect seemed to finally kick in.

In an oddly mocking tone, she said, "You're Harrison's girlfriend, aren't you?"

"Let Harrison take the call." Adeline's voice became sharp. "Stop wasting time."

Given the situation, even if she told Kira where she was, there was no guarantee Kira would pass the information to Harrison. It could make things even more complicated.

She needed to speak to Harrison directly.

Kira, filled with jealousy, lost all sense of reason.

"Stop fantasizing." Kira sneered, "You think

Harrison cares about you? You're wrong. The one by his side right now is me. He told me that you..."

But before she could finish her sentence, Adeline hung up the phone.

Time was running out.

Adeline couldn't waste any more time on this woman. She quickly recalled Gracie's number and dialed it.

On the other end, Kira was fuming as she heard the call end.

After taking a few deep breaths and muttering a couple of curses, she turned and saw Harrison walking out of the room, his face dark.

He was wearing a bathrobe, his hair still dripping wet.

He must have realized his phone was

missing after his shower and came out to find it.

When he saw Kira, his gaze immediately locked on the phone in her hand.

Harrison asked, "Who gave you permission to touch my phone?"

He strode over and snatched the phone from her hands.

Kira said, "Harrison, I... I accidentally took the wrong one..."

But her weak excuse was one Harrison wasn't buying.

From her expression, he could tell she was guilty.

A bad feeling rose in his chest as he immediately checked the call logs.

Sure enough, there was a call that hadn't been there before.

His heart began to race. Instead of asking Kira who it was, he marched straight into the room, dialing the number back.

Kira tried to follow, but Harrison slammed the door shut behind him, nearly slamming her nose.

He had an overwhelming feeling that the call was from Adeline.

He regretted not bringing his phone into the bathroom.

If only he had, none of this would have happened.

He usually brought it in, but this time, the hotel was hastily booked, and he hadn't considered the bathroom's size.

If he'd taken his phone with him, it could have been damaged by water.

He quickly dialed the number again, but it was busy.

After hanging up, he tried again, but the phone was turned off.

Harrison clenched his fists in frustration.

He changed as quickly as he could, ready to head out when his phone rang again.

This time, it was Rowen.

"Mr. Thomson, we've found something."

Rowen's voice was full of excitement. "You had us search the outskirts of the city, and we found something. In a quiet, remote area, there's a house-looks like a candy house."

"A candy house? That is from a fairy tale."

Harrison's heart skipped a beat.

He spoke sternly, "Get the car ready, we're going there now."

"Yes, sir."

After leaving his room, Harrison saw Kira still standing by the door.

She had calmed down.

She realized she might have just caused a big problem.

When she saw Harrison, she tried to explain.

"Harrison, just now.."

"Who called?" he asked.

Harrison's eyes were burning with fury.

Kira was so scared she couldn't help but tell the truth. "It... it was a woman. She's been looking for you, and then she just hung up after not saying much... Harrison, I'm sorry..."

"Fuck off!" Harrison had no time for her excuses.

He needed to know if that call had been from Adeline.

And hearing it was a woman, he knew it might be her.

Honestly, he was so furious that he almost wanted to kill Kira right then.

Kira trembled in fear, her eyes red. She didn't dare stop him, just watched him leave.

By the time Harrison reached the hotel door, the car was waiting for him.

Rowen opened the door for him.

Once they were both in the car, they immediately drove off.

Rowen handed Harrison a tablet, showing a map of the city.

There was a small red dot on it.

Rowen pointed to the dot. "That's where the candy house is. I've left two men in the area to keep watch."

"How many guards?"

Rowen replied, "At least twenty, from initial estimates."

"That's probably it." Harrison's voice was grim.

He thought, "The outskirts of Daltoria, a candy house, guards... This could very well be where Adeline is being held."

"Don't worry, Mr. Thomson," Rowen said.

"Our men are nearby, following in the car.

They're well-trained bodyguards, and they'll rescue Miss Hensley."

Harrison, however, wasn't reassured.

He kept thinking about the call earlier.

He understood why the line was busy the first time-Adeline had probably contacted someone else.

He thought, "Why was it turned off the second time? Was something happening to Adeline?"

His unease grew, and he said urgently to the driver, "Drive faster."

Gracie answered Adeline's call.

Hearing Adeline's voice made her burst into tears.

But Adeline didn't have time for any emotional reunion.

She quickly told Gracie where she was.

"Daltoria, it's a suburb, and there's a candy house."

With these clues, it would be much easier for the Mendoza family to find her.

"Daltoria? That's great. Harrison is in Daltoria now!" Gracie exclaimed, "I'll tell him immediately."

Adeline frowned as she remembered the woman who had called Harrison.

But there was no time to dwell on it.

She had given Gracie the information, and that was enough.

As she wanted to say more, Adeline heard several gunshots from outside.
