Chapter 381 No One Stops You
Harrison said, "No need. In fact, I owe you and Ronan an apology for not informing you earlier."
He had wanted to give them a heads-up.
But without concrete proof, they might not have believed him.
After all, in their eyes, Milania had always been the perfect wife and mother.
Even with the Adeline incident, they surely wouldn't want to believe that Milania could be that kind of person.
If he'd told them beforehand, it might have only made things worse.
Maybe they would ve been manipulated and hurt by Milania.
So, he had to confront them directly, in front of Milania, with the strongest possible evidence to ensure she could no longer lie, deceive, or escape.
It would shock and hurt Ashton and Ronan, but it was the only way to protect everyone from further harm.
"No, your approach was the right one," Ashton said bitterly. "If you had told me earlier, we probably wouldn't have believed it."
He understood himself.
He understood Ronan.
Until they saw irrefutable evidence, they wouldn't have believed Milania was capable of such things.
Ashton continued, "Harrison, just now with Ronan... he didn't mean it. He just couldn't take it in at that moment."
"I understand," Harrison replied.
If it were him, he probably wouldn't have reacted much differently than Ronan.
"Milania... let her face whatever she deserves," Ashton said.
“You don't have to worry about me
anymore."
With that, he turned and walked away.
But each step he took seemed weighed down with regret.
He regretted it so much now.
If only he'd listened to his father back then, and never married Milania, if only he had been more cautious over the years, if only he'd seen Milania's true nature sooner, then none of this would have happened.
After Ashton left, Lorenzo asked, "Harrison, what are you planning to do with Milania?"
"We'll have the lawyers file a lawsuit," Harrison said. "Arson, hiring hitmen-there's enough there to lock her away for life."
After all, the Thomson family's legal team wasn't to be taken lightly.
Milania would, at the very least, get a life sentence.
Lorenzo nodded.
He fully supported.Harrison's decision.
Someone like Milania, if allowed to go free, would only bring more trouble.
After all the noise, Lorenzo felt suddenly tired.
"Let someone else handle it. I'm going
upstairs," he said.
"Okay, Grandpa, rest well," Harrison replied.
After Lorenzo went upstairs, only Harrison and Edward remained in the living room.
Harrison looked down, typing a message to Adeline, explaining everything that had just happened.
"Harrison..." Edward couldn't help but speak first.
"What is it?" Harrison asked, not even lifting his head.
"What exactly has Milania done?" Edward asked.
"I heard she tried to set you on fire. She even planted spies around you?"
"That's all in the past now," Harrison replied, not wanting to discuss it further.
At the time, Edward wasn't even back in the picture.
He probably hadn't even thought of the Thomson family.
He hadn't remembered he had family here.
Talking about it now was useless.
Edward could tell Harrison was still upset with him, so he didn't push it.
"I never expected her to be that kind of person,"
Edward sighed. "I thought she was always so well-behaved back in the day."
As soon as he spoke, he felt the sting of Harrison's mocking glance.
Edward suddenly felt embarrassed.
Of course, back then, who would have guessed that someone like him-appearing so respectable would later abandon his wife and elope with a mistress?
Edward had intended to smooth things over with Harrison, but it seemed he'd dug himself into a hole.
"Are you chatting with your girlfriend?" he quickly changed the subject. "When are you two getting married?"
Harrison didn't respond.
Edward felt more uncomfortable, squirming in his seat.
He was hoping to reassert his authority in front of Harrison.
But it was clear that wasn't going to happen.
Just as it seemed Harrison was about to leave, Edward hastily asked, "Can I meet Alondra's mother?"
Harrison replied coldly, "No one is stopping you from seeing her."
He had never told Edward he couldn't see
Britney.
It was Edward who had stayed with Alondra at the Thomson family and hadn't bothered asking where Britney was these last couple of days.
He must have been conflicted inside.
After all, Lorenzo had already made it clear.
He could continue seeing Britney, but Britney would never be allowed into the Thomson family.
So now, Edward had to choose between the Thomson family and Britney.
Back then, he'd left the Thomson family to elope with Britney, and now, when it came to making a choice, he was stuck...
How ironic.
"So, where is she?" Edward cautiously asked.
"If you want to see her, I'll have someone take you tomorrow," Harrison replied, getting ready to leave.
Just before going upstairs, he seemed to remember something and turned to Edward.
"But I'll remind you of one thing. Grandpa won't let this drag on forever. He's getting old, but when it comes to some things, he'll never compromise."
With that, he left without another word.
Edward was left feeling extremely restless.
He wanted to return to the Thomson family, out he couldn't leave Britney behind.
After all, she was the one he had fallen for at first sight.
They'd lived together for over ten years and even had a daughter.
He'd already betrayed Myra once.
Could he really hurt another woman?
Harrison went upstairs but didn't immediately head to his room. Instead, he stopped in the study.
He made a call, and before long, two maids and two security guards arrived at the study.
"Who helped Milania escape tonight?"
Harrison sat at the desk, tapping his fingers against the wood as he calmly asked.
Milania had already gotten quite a distance away from the Thomson family.
She hadn't been lucky, though, and had bumped into one of the guards on duty near the gates, who had caught her.
Recently, the Thomson family had been keeping a tight watch on her.
Even if someone had let their guard down, it would've been hard for Milania to slip away unnoticed.
So, someone had helped her.
One of the maids spoke up. "Your father had come home recently, and the staff couldn't stop gossiping about it. They'd gather together and talk, and even the servants in her wing started getting careless. That's when Milania took the chance to slip out of the third courtyard."
Another maid added, "Milania often walks in the garden. Sometimes she chats with family members, but most people have grown cold towards her. The only time she had a long conversation was with Mr. Marshall."
Harrison's fingers paused on the desk.
"Marshall?"
