Chapter 377 Milania Tries to Escape

Harrison's face instantly darkened. Striding toward the door, he asked sharply, "Who's in trouble?"

"It's Milania."

Hearing that name, Harrison furrowed his brows.

"Isn't Milania locked away in the annex of the villa? What could possibly happen to her?" Harrison thought.

When he descended to the living room, Harrison learned that Milania had attempted to escape while the family wasn't paying attention, only to be caught by the patrolling security guards.

There she was, standing in the living room, her face ashen.

Ashton and Ronan had both rushed over.

Edward was there too.

He'd been staying at the mansion with Alondra these past few days.

Meanwhile, Britney had been staying somewhere else.

Harrison sent a text before walking over to the couch and sitting down.

Lorenzo joined him on the sofa.

He turned to Milania, his voice calm but cold.

"Milania, what's going on with you?"

Milania forced a smile. "Dad, I've been locked up for so many days, not even allowed out during the New Year. It's been suffocating. Yes, what happened with Miss Hensley was my fault, but I'm your daughter-in-law, not a criminal. Keeping me locked up is going too far. Even Edward came back, and I wasn't allowed to see him. It's really weighing on my heart."

When Edward was suddenly mentioned, his face stiffened. He shot Harrison a look, but quickly averted his gaze.

Despite staying at the Thomson villa for the past few days, he had been avoiding Harrison.

Every time he saw Harrison, he felt guilty.

And every time Harrison was near, he couldn't help but think of Myra.

Myra hadn't returned to the Thomson villa in days.

Truth be told, Edward still wanted to speak to her.

But he hadn't found the chance.

Thankfully, no one seemed to notice him.

Ronan couldn't keep quiet anymore.

"Grandpa, Harrison, I know Mom tried to escape, but she's been obedient lately. Please, just forgive her this once."

After all, this was his mother. Even though Ronan resented her, at this point, he couldn't help but defend her.

"We haven't gotten to the bottom of this yet," Lorenzo said. "If we let her out and something happens, we won't be able to explain it. It won't be good for her either."

Harrison spoke up, his tone firm. "Actually, it's already been cleared up."

Instantly, all eyes turned to him.

Milania's hands trembled uncontrollably.

She thought, "Cleared up? What has Harrison uncovered? Is it that man...?"

Harrison's gaze turned to her, his eyes filled with scorn. "You just said you're not a criminal?"

Milania held her breath. "The incident with Miss Hensley... I've apologized and accepted the consequences. Calling me a criminal is too much."

"Is it?" Harrison's voice was icy. "Arsonist."

Milania's mind exploded with shock.

Ashton's expression also shifted.

"Harrison, you mean the fire at the hotel in Marifort City..."

"Was orchestrated by Milania," Harrison replied casually, sipping his coffee.

This was no longer a question. It was a statement.

Ashton looked at Milania with heavy eyes.

The truth had been lurking at the back of his mind even before Harrison found the proof.

Even though he had braced himself, the revelation still hurt him.

His wife, the woman he had shared his life with for over twenty years, was a cold-blooded monster-one who had targeted his own nephew.

"Harrison, you can't just say things like that!" Milania hissed, her voice high-pitched.

"I know you like Miss Hensley, and because of what happened before, you've always had something against me. But you can't just throw these kinds of accusations around."

"I'm not accusing you, Milania. You know exactly what I'm saying," Harrison shot back. "And as for Collin, I've found him."

With those words, the last shred of hope in Milania's heart shattered.

She thought, "Collin. So it was him. That useless man. Why had he even been found? If he had already run, how was Harrison able to track him down?"

Worse yet, she had sent people to kill Collin to protect herself.

After all, the only secrets that stay buried were those kept by the dead.

Even though Collin had been strung along by her for over twenty years, obsessed with her, she never fully trusted him.

He knew too much.

If he spoke out, everything would be over.

Unfortunately, her people had failed.

They let Collin escape.

Collin might have been love-struck, but he wasn't stupid.

He would have figured out that it was Milania who'd sent people to kill him.

He would never keep her secret.

"Collin... that name, l've heard Harrison mention it before," Ronan said. "He's the one who set the fire."

"Yes," Harrison replied.

He glanced at Ronan, a flicker of sympathy in his eyes.

But some truths had to be revealed.

They couldn't go on being kept in the dark by Milania forever.

Milania was a madwoman with a ruthless heart.

He didn't know what she might do next.

It was time to deal with her once and for all, to prevent future calamities.

"So, Mom, you really ordered him to do it?" Harrison's voice was filled with disbelief.

"You went against Adeline, and you want to hurt Harrison. Why?"

The incident with Adeline could still be brushed off as a prank.

But setting a fire was another level

 entirely.

"And what about Amber?" Harrison added.

"She was your doing too, wasn't she?"

Milania had learned from a hotel server that Kaylie had drugged Harrison.

This server, a distant relative of hers, had always been well taken care of by Milania.

When Kaylie ordered the drugging, the server accidentally overheard it.

But no one noticed him.

After hearing this, the server had been terrified for days. Eventually, he told Milania.

Milania kept digging and found out Kaylie had gone to the hospital that night because a relative was ill.

Obviously, she didn't have time to do anything with Harrison.

No other women were seen around him.

So Milania boldly arranged for Amber to impersonate Kaylie that night.

It was Milania who told Amber about the birthmark on Harrison's leg.

She'd overheard Myra mention it in passing.

Milania figured that even if Harrison didn't like Amber, he'd at least feel obligated due to the past.

Amber would be able to get close to him without suspicion.

Even if Harrison found out she wasn't the woman from that night, he'd probably just send her away.

But Milania didn't expect Amber to be so reckless.

First, she offended Harrison by trying to seduce him, and then she ruined her own life by blackmailing Eleanor.
