One night stand with my president(chapter 349)

Chapter 349: I'll Be Here

Adeline made a call, and it wasn't long before she received a response saying everything had been arranged.

Shortly after, a manager arrived, accompanied by several security guards, and respectfully escorted them to the monitoring room.

In the footage, Harrison saw the man again.

The man and Harrison's father looked strikingly similar.

From the previous distance, Harrison hadn't been able to make out the details of the man's face, only his general appearance.

But now, in the footage, he could clearly see the mole on the man's right cheek.

It was exactly the same as his father's.

Adeline, worried that Harrison might not be able to handle it, kept her hand firmly gripping his.

By now, Harrison was calmer than before.

Though his heart was still in turmoil, he knew he had to stay composed and figure out who this man really was.

Adeline watched his expression, tentatively asking, "Do you want to look into this man?"

Since they had the footage, the Mendoza family could easily trace the identity of the man in the video.

"Yeah." Harrison nodded slightly.

Adeline immediately asked the staff in the monitoring room to send her a copy of the video, which she then forwarded to a reliable subordinate within the Mendoza family to investigate the man's identity.

Now that she was Miss Mendoza, all her subordinates obeyed her without question.

Given what had just happened, Adeline and Harrison weren't in the mood to continue shopping.

They made their way to the parking lot and sat in the car.

Adeline noticed that Harrison's hands were still slightly trembling.

She sighed softly and reached out to hold his

hand again.

"No matter what happens, I'll be here for you," she said gently.

Harrison leaned over and hugged her, resting his chin on her shoulder.

He whispered, "Adeline, I never thought... I never thought that my father might still be alive."

Adeline wanted to ask how his father had passed away and whether he had seen his body back then.

But she didn't want to stir up painful memories, so she pushed the thought aside.

However, Harrison spoke up on his own.

"My father had an accident in Mugroaton,"

Harrison began, his voice shaky. "He went there for business, and one day, we suddenly got the news that his car had exploded on the road. He died so violently that there was no body left." When he mentioned this, Adeline could clearly sense Harrison's body trembling again.

She immediately patted his back gently.

Harrison took a deep breath and continued, "At that time, my grandfather and mother rushed to Mugroaton. I didn't know what had happened until they returned and told me my father was gone."

His father's car had exploded, and his body had been completely destroyed.

The scene had been chaotic, and no one had bothered to gather his father's remains.

Harrison would never forget the oppressive atmosphere at home during those days.

His grandfather smoked countless cigarettes, barely able to eat.

His mother, needless to say, had been crying, clutching his father's photos the entire time.

As for Harrison, he didn't shed a single tear in front of others.

Many relatives and friends had whispered behind his back, saying how heartless he was. His father had died, yet he seemed unmoved.

But only he and Sam knew the truth. When no one was around, Harrison's tears fell silently onto the clothes his father had bought for him.

Sam had always been there to comfort him during those moments.

And it was only Sam who had seen him cry like a broken person.

Over the years, even though Sam teased him constantly, he never brought up this painful memory.

Sam knew just how deep Harrison's feelings for his father were and how hard his death had hit Harrison.

"Adeline, do you remember when Eleanor used a clue to blackmail me, forcing me to promise her a few things?" Harrison asked.

"The clue she gave me was related to my father's death." For years, the Thomson family had been investigating the circumstances behind Harrison's father's death.

The Mugroaton police had investigated and concluded that someone had tampered with his father's car, causing the explosion on the road.

But his father had only gone to Mugroaton for business. The business had gone smoothly, and the Thomson family didn't have any enemies there. Who would want to harm him?

The Mugroaton police couldn't give them an answer.

So for all these years, the Thomson family had been trying to uncover the truth.

But they never found anything.

The incident seemed to have been carefully orchestrated, leaving no trace behind.

As Harrison grew older, he began investigating the matter himself.

He needed to know who had killed his father and seek justice for him.

It was then that Eleanor told him she had overheard a conversation at a gathering in Mugroaton. Two people had been discussing his father.

One of them had said, "If only Edward hadn't gone to that place."

The other had replied, "Shh, don't talk about it. It's been so many years. Why bring him up now?"

"It's fine. It's been so long. Nothing to worry about," the first person said.

"Still, be careful. Someone might still remember his name."

Eleanor had recognized "Edward" as Harrison's father's name, so she remembered the conversation.

Unfortunately, there had been a curtain separating her from the two speakers, so she hadn't been able to identify who they were, nor had she dared to approach them.

While the conversation wasn't very informative, it provided Harrison with a small lead.

After Edward's death, the Thomson family had people look into his travel records from Mugroaton.

But nothing suspicious was found.

After Eleanor told Harrison about the conversation she overheard, Harrison had gone over the old documents again and again.

But he couldn't find anything unusual.

In fact, all Edward had done was attending business meetings, visiting some tourist spots, and staying in his hotel.

None of these locations seemed like they could be the place where his life had been taken.

Harrison even began to suspect that Eleanor might be lying to him.

That woman was truly untrustworthy.

But when it came to his father's death, he couldn't afford to ignore any clues, no matter how small.

So even though it had been years, Harrison had continued to send people to check the same locations in Mugroaton.m

But after so many years, it was becoming increasingly difficult to investigate, especially in a foreign country.

He had gotten a guest list for the event Eleanor attended in Mugroaton.

However, after checking through the list, none of the guests seemed to have any connection to Edward.

After hearing the entire story from Harrison, Adeline became more and more convinced that the man they had seen in the mall earlier was indeed Edward.

Harrison had mentioned that neither his grandfather nor his mother had ever seen

Edward's body.

This meant it was possible that Edward had never died.

Adeline suddenly had a chilling thought.

If the man they saw earlier in the mall was really Edward, it meant that Edward faked his own death all those years ago.

He might have staged his death to deceive the Thomson family, and choosing Mugroaton as the location would have made it more difficult for anyone to investigate.
