Chapter 345: Are You Doubting My Abilities?
"Yes, it's all your fault," Adeline teased, playfully twirling his fingers. "You took another woman to a hotel. If it's not your fault, whose fault is it?"
Harrison pinched her soft, flushed cheek and chuckled. "You actually believe gossip magazines?"
"Hmph, I believed them, and now I'm really angry," she pouted, her voice a little sulky.
"Really?" Harrison leaned in, gazing at her face with an amused smile. "Are you really that mad?"
"I'm really mad!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Harrison lifted her chin and kissed her again.
Heaven knows how long he'd been holding back.
Every time he saw Adeline, he wanted to kiss her, but he had to restrain himself. Now that they had finally made their feelings clear and officially became a couple, it was time to make up for lost kisses.
Adeline's resistance dissolved the moment he kissed her. In his arms, she felt limp, overwhelmed by the intensity of his affection.
But soon, Adeline found herself no longer satisfied with just passively accepting his kisses.
She turned, straddled him, and took charge of the kiss, leaning down to kiss him from above.
Her boldness only made Harrison's heart race even faster.
His hand instinctively slid inside her shirt. By the time they both regained their senses, all the buttons on her top had been undone, and the sight of her smooth skin was driving him wild.
Harrison swallowed hard, his throat tightening.
"Adeline..." he said her name in a low, husky voice, and Adeline trembled. She knew exactly what he was thinking because, honestly, she was thinking the same.
"The door's not locked," she said, her voice a little dazed and seductive.
Though no one would barge into her room without permission, she still felt uneasy with the door unlocked.
Harrison didn't say a word. He just picked her up and carried her to the door.
Adeline reached out, and with a soft click, she locked the door.
The sound of the lock clicked away whatever shred of reason Harrison had left.
He carried her back to the sofa, but just as he was about to put her down, Adeline gently tapped him on the chest, her cheeks flushed as she whispered, "Not here, let's go to the bed."
The distance between the sofa and the bed was only a few inches, but to Harrison, it felt like miles. Finally, he carried her to the bed, and as he gently placed her on it, he pressed on her.
Adeline was so exhausted that she barely had the strength to take a shower. So, Harrison picked her up and helped her clean herself up in the bathroom.
After they were done, he let her rest on the sofa wrapped in a bathrobe, and he personally changed the bed sheets before carrying her back to the bed.
After the hot shower, Adeline felt much more energetic.
She nestled in Harrison's arms and suddenly said, "I've just realized something."
"What's that?" Harrison's voice was soft and lazy, still with a hint of sleepiness.
Adeline raised a hand to cover her face and said, "Turns out... you can last this long even without that thing."
That night, she had bought the "extra lasting" kind.
She had always thought that the reason Harrison had exhausted her that night was because he was wearing something special.
But just now, he hadn't used anything, and he was still more than able to match, if not exceed, what had happened that night.
Harrison blinked in confusion.
He gently took her hand away from her face, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
"So now you're doubting my abilities?" he said with a teasing yet intense tone.
"No," Adeline quickly denied, her face flushing.
She honestly wasn't sure if she could survive another round.
Harrison held her tighter, his face breaking into an uncontrollable grin.
He had never felt this happy in his entire life.
"By the way," Harrison suddenly remembered something and said, "not a single word in that gossip article was true.
That model they mentioned? I don't even know her. She was just at the same event that night. I went to the hotel alone and didn't even notice her following me
"Got it," Adeline replied nonchalantly.
She had never really doubted Harrison in the first place.
Then, she added, "I trust you, and you should trust me. I don't have any feelings for Russell. The only person I like is you. Only you. I can't even think about liking another man."
Harrison lowered his head and kissed her forehead gently. "Mm, I know."
"You really do?" Adeline tilted her head and looked at him suspiciously.
"I really do," Harrison said, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "I swear I'll never doubt you again."
"And what if you break your vow?"
Harrison thought for a moment and then whispered something into Adeline's ear.
Adeline couldn't stop laughing. "That's not fair! If that happens, l'd be the one to suffer!"
Her laughter made Harrison's heart race again.
He leaned in to kiss her, but Adeline quickly blocked him, saying, "No. You just had a shower, and the sheets are clean. If you do it again, I'll have to wash them and change the sheets again."
"It's fine. I don't mind the trouble," Harrison said, reaching for the buttons on her bathrobe.
"I do," Adeline caught his hand, grinning.
"And... we're lacking the proper... tools. It's not as satisfying."
Since they hadn't used protection, they hadn't gone all the way just now.
She didn't want to get pregnant before marriage, and he didn't want her to take medication that could harm her health.
So they had to do things this way.
It couldn't be helped. Before coming here,
Harrison had been focused on making Adeline happy and had completely forgotten to prepare for that kind of thing.
After hearing her explanation, Harrison understood and just let it go.
"How about we go out this afternoon?" Harrison whispered in her ear, his voice now full of temptation. "We can buy something while we're at it."
Adeline's ears turned bright red, and soon, the heat spread throughout her body. She couldn't resist hitting him, but her fists were soft, weak from exhaustion.
"Harrison, you have no shame."
"What do I need shame for in front of my girlfriend?" Harrison rubbed his chin against her head. "Anyway, from now on, I'm staying with you. If you try to kick me out, I won't go."
"Wasn't it you who left without a word before?"
Harrison immediately lowered his head and lightly nipped at her red lips, grinning as he saw the mark his teeth left.
"No more bringing up old stuff."
Adeline huffed but, knowing she had no leg to stand on, didn't press the issue any further.
The two of them sat there quietly, just holding each other for a while. Finally, Adeline asked, "It's almost noon, right?"
"Yes."
"No wonder l'm feeling hungry. We should probably have lunch soon. Let's get up."
"Alright."
Just as Harrison sat up, he suddenly realized something.
"My spare clothes are in my suitcase, which is still in the car."
When he saw Pedro flaunting himself in front of Adeline earlier, Harrison had been so eager to stake his claim that he'd completely forgotten about his suitcase.
