Chapter 343: I Love You
Adeline glared at him with red, swollen eyes, pushed him away, and turned to storm upstairs.
Harrison remained silent, following her closely behind.
As Adeline ascended a few steps, she abruptly turned around, eyes flashing with irritation.
"What are you following me for?"
"I just want to follow you," Harrison said, his voice steady. "For the rest of my life."
Adeline ignored him, continuing up the stairs, though her ears had already turned a shade of pink.
When they reached the third floor, Adeline walked toward her room.
Harrison quickened his pace and grabbed her wrist.
"Adeline, can we stop fighting now?" he asked gently.
By now, Adeline's heart was already softening.
She wanted to say something, but as soon as she

opened her mouth, she couldn't hold back her tears.
To be honest, their fight had only lasted a few days.
But those few days had felt like years.
She thought about him when she ate, when she slept, and even in her dreams-he was always there.
She had always known she liked him and cared about him.
But it wasn't until now that she realized just how deep those feelings had run.
Unable to contain himself, Harrison pulled her into his arms once more.
Seeing her cry like this, he felt as if he would give up his life for her.
He would rather suffer himself than ever see her shed a single tear.
He deeply regretted it. He shouldn't have let their fight drag on. The feeling was unbearable, and he'd rather face a hundred business rivals than have a single argument with her.
"I'm sorry," Harrison said again, his voice filled with remorse. "I shouldn't have walked away that day. I shouldn't have left you or ignored your calls."
After these few days of reflection, he finally understood that he couldn't imagine life without her.
Honestly, he still wasn't sure if Adeline had any feelings for Russell, but he decided it didn't matter. If there were feelings between them, so be it. As long as she still liked him, as long as she didn't leave him, he was willing to accept it.
After all, he had fallen head over heels for her from the start.
Adeline still didn't say anything, her tears flowing endlessly.
Desperate to stop her crying, Harrison said, "I know you still care about Russell. From now on, I won't let it get to me. I won't fight with you over him, Okay?"
But Adeline didn't react the way he expected.
Instead, her sobs grew louder, and she cried between gasps, "You... you... you jerk..." He thought she was hung up on Russell.
"I'm a jerk. I'm the worst jerk," Harrison echoed her words, his voice full of guilt.
"Get away from me."
Adeline tried to push him away once again, but this time, Harrison held onto her even tighter.
Furious, she stomped on his foot, and he let out a sharp breath, but his grip never loosened.
"Stop crying, and I'll let you go," Harrison coaxed.
His heart was in chaos as he watched her tears; unable to think straight or speak calmly.
When Adeline heard that, she decided to hold her ground. She wiped away her tears with great effort and choked out, "Now, can you let me go?"
True to his word, Harrison stopped holding her tightly but still kept a firm grip on her wrist, refusing to let her leave.
But Adeline didn't seem intent on leaving, either.
She stood there, head down, as if she was still sulking.
Harrison looked down at her teary eyes, her red, swollen nose from crying, and those soft, tempting lips...
"Adeline," he whispered her name, his voice soft but filled with emotion.
"What?" Adeline snapped, her tone anything but sweet.
"I love you."
Adeline froze. Her heart skipped a beat at those three words.
She was shocked, and yet there was a trace of joy beneath her surprise.
Her gaze shot up, and she locked eyes with him, her breath catching in her throat as she saw the depth of love in his eyes.
Harrison continued, "I used to think I had to say those three words in a formal setting and in a grand way. I even prepared a ring for that moment... But now, right here, right now, I realize that I just really want to tell you that I love you."
Adeline's lips trembled.
"I... you..." she stammered.
"I know," Harrison said gently, "you love me, too."
Adeline was so furious that she could have e stomped her feet. How dare he speak for her?
But she had no way to deny it, because, as he said, she did love him.
Her face wasn't just red from crying; now, her entire face had flushed with embarrassment.
Harrison watched her cheeks turn pink and thought she looked incredibly adorable.
"Adeline..."
"Harrison, I hate you."
He knew she loved him, and yet he still thought she cared about Russell. She cared about Harrison-only him..
"I don't believe you hate me," Harrison said, smiling.
"I really do hate you."
"If you hate me, should I leave?" Harrison asked with a grin.
With that, he made a show of turning to leave.
But Adeline panicked. Before she could even think, her arms wrapped tightly around his waist.
She didn't say a word, but her actions spoke louder than any words could.
She was afraid he might really leave.
Harrison looked down at her and sighed deeply.
"Adeline, you thought so highly of me."
How could he leave? Even if she didn't want him, even if she told him to go, he would never leave her side.
Adeline looked up at him, still dazed, and it took / her a while to realize he had been faking about leaving.
Her mind was so scattered that she'd believed his little lie.
Once she realized it, a wave of embarrassment and anger washed over her.
Her face flushed even more as she pushed him away with all her might. The force of it made him stumble back two steps.
"Harrison, you jerk! I hate you."
With that, she turned to walk away.
But there was no way Harrison was going to let her leave.
He grabbed her hand and pulled her back, pressing her against the wall.
The wall was covered in soft, luxurious padding, but Harrison was still careful, loosening his hold slightly and supporting her head with his hand.
"Don't go," he whispered, his voice tender.
"Adeline, I love you. I'll never let you leave me again."
Hearing those words once more sent a shockwave through Adeline. Her skin tingled from head to toe.
Her body shivered slightly.
His breath was so close to hers, the air thick with tension... It reminded her of that night in the hotel, in the same intimate atmosphere when they had tangled together...
He must have remembered, too.
Without warning, he spoke again.
"Adeline, the woman that night was you, right?"
Adeline had been shocked by him again, for the umpteenth time today.
She knew exactly which night he was talking about.
Adeline thought, "How did he know?"
But her mind was too jumbled to think about it.
But that didn't matter. She was planning to tell him anyway.
Still, she was angry and snapped, "It wasn't me."
Harrison could easily tell she was just being stubborn.
His heart soared with joy, and he gently tilted her chin up, capturing her lips in a kiss that had been a long time coming.
