One night stand with my president( chapter 337)

Chapter 337 The Feeling of Resentment

"Mrs. Mendoza, Camilla says she knows Miss Mendoza has returned, and she wants to meet her to apologize on behalf of her father."

Gracie's expression instantly turned cold.

"Tell her it's unnecessary. We don't want to bring up the past, and we don't need her apology."

"I said the same thing, but she said she's terminally ill, and she's counting her days..."

That was why the butler had come to tell Gracie about it.

It would be hard not to feel some sympathy for a terminally ill person.

Upon hearing this, Gracie was momentarily stunned.

They were speaking in Yewhaina's language, but Adeline was fluent, so she understood everything easily.

Gracie hesitated.

She hadn't expected Camilla to be terminally ill.

Of course, she didn't care, and she had no

intention of offering any help.

She had already shown enough mercy by not harming Camilla.

But now, a terminally ill person was at her door.

If Gracie turned Camilla away...

Gracie glanced at Adeline, troubled.

After a moment of thought, Adeline said, "How about this? Don't let her inside. Since she's here to see me, l'l go out and speak to her."

"I'll go with you," Gracie immediately offered.

"No, Mom," Adeline said. "I know you'll remember the unpleasant past when you see her. I'll handle it myself. I'll just talk to her through the door. It'll be fine."

Gracie thought for a moment and nodded.

She called a few of the housemaids to accompany Adeline outside.

Meanwhile, Camilla stood at the entrance to the Mendoza family.

The weather was bitterly cold, and she rubbed her hands together for warmth.

Her mother was from Yewhaina, so she was mixed race, but she had inherited more of her father's features.

As she rubbed her hands together, she kept lifting her head, gazing at the magnificent mansion beyond the gate.

When her parents died, Camilla was only four years old, and many things had faded from her memory.

But there were some vague impressions she couldn't shake.

She remembered living in this grand mansion.

Back then, there seemed to be many servants attending to her. She wore pretty little dresses every day and had lots of beautiful dolls.

She got whatever she wanted.

Everyone adored her, calling her cute.

But after her parents passed away, Camilla was cast out of this mansion.

She was no longer the princess here.

She was sent to live with relatives.

To be honest, her relatives treated her well, but their conditions were ordinary.

Camilla lived in a modest house, ate plain food, and couldn't stop thinking about the privileged life she once had.

Though her memories were blurry, she still missed that time deeply.

That was why she often ran back to the Mendoza family.

After all, she was still related to the current head of the Mendoza family.

Camilla hoped they would forgive her and accept her back into the Mendoza family.

Her parents had made mistakes, but that wasn't her fault. Camilla hadn't done anything wrong.

She desperately wanted to live in this mansion again.

Yet Isaac and Gracie didn't even want to meet Slowly, a wave of resentment started to rise within her.

Camilla thought, "How could they be so heartless? Why couldn't they accept me?"

She even found herself thinking, "What if my father had won back then? That way, Isaac and Gracie would have just been the dogs of my family."

Two months ago, Camilla was diagnosed with a terminal illness and had less than a year to live.

After getting the diagnosis, she lost hope.

Camilla thought, "So be it. This is how my life ends."

But just a few days ago, at dinner, one of her relatives suddenly told her that Isaac and Gracie had found their daughter.

Now, rumors were circulating that the Mendoza family's heiress was about to return.

Upon hearing this, Camilla completely broke down. She even swept all the dishes off the table in a fit of rage.

"Why? Why is fate so unfair?" she thought.

"The Mendoza family's heiress should be me."

Camilla refused to think about how her father had used underhanded means to steal what didn't belong to him. Nor did she think about how her father had once threatened to kill a helpless infant. She didn't care that her father had caused Adeline to be separated from her biological parents for over twenty years. All she could feel was hatred.

She heard that Isaac and Gracie were about to bring their daughter back.

After thinking it over, she decided she had to go to the Mendoza family.

She wanted to see what this woman-who had "replaced" her was like.

At that moment, Camilla heard a security guard speak up.

"Miss Mendoza is here."

Camilla slowly lifted her head. Through the large iron gate, she saw a young woman walking towards her.

The woman wore a white dress with a silver coat over it. She was tall, and her features were exquisitely beautiful.

Camilla thought, "This must be what a fairy looks like."

That thought only made her feel worse.

Isaac and Gracie's daughter was so beautiful and noble.

And it was this woman who now possessed everything that should have been hers.

Adeline reached the gate.

She saw Camilla standing there.

She had thought Camilla would say something to her.

But to her surprise, as soon as she walked up, Camilla turned and walked away.

Adeline was speechless and thought, "What's going on? Didn't Camilla want to meet me? Why did she leave?"

The security guards and the housemaids who had accompanied Adeline all looked at each other in confusion.

"Miss Mendoza, since she's left, should we go back inside?" one of the maids suggested. "She's always been strange. Every time I see her, it gives me a creepy feeling."

Adeline nodded, not thinking too much about it, and headed back inside with the maids.

Once back in the living room, Gracie asked, "Why are you back so soon?"

Adeline said that Camilla left as soon as they met.

Gracie frowned slightly. Just as she was about to complain, she remembered that Camilla was a terminally ill patient, so she stopped herself.

Adeline went back to her room, checked her phone, and saw that there was still no message from Harrison.

Her eyelashes fluttered, and a sense of loneliness crept into her heart.

Just then, a message from Joyce popped up.

"Adeline, I'm about to head out. Just wait for me in Yewhaina."

When she saw Joyce's message, Adeline's mood lifted considerably.

A few days ago, the Mendoza family had sent someone to pick up Joyce, ensuring she would arrive safely in Yewhaina without being noticed by Callan's people.

The thought of finally being able to meet Joyce again filled Adeline with happiness.

After replying to Joyce's message, she noticed a pen and paper on the desk beside her. She casually grabbed them and began to sketch.

As she drew, her mind wandered. When she finished, she looked at the drawing on the paper and couldn't help but laugh.
