One night stand with my president (chapter 370)

Chapter 370: He’s Feeling a Bit Homesick

The moment the bodyguard spoke, Adeline noticed Harrison's body stiffen slightly.

To be honest, Alondra was a bit of a problem.

And the ones responsible for this mess were

Edward and Britney.

But Alondra was only seven years old.

She was innocent.

What was more, she was Harrison's half-sister.

They shared the same father.

Adeline couldn't figure out why Alondra suddenly wanted to see Harrison.

Seeing Harrison's expression, she said, "If you don't want to see her, we can just leave it for now. I'll go talk to her."

"No need," Harrison said. "Let her come in."

He would have to face these things.

The bodyguard, hearing the command, gently pushed the door open.

And there stood Alondra in the doorway.

She looked shy and uncertain as she stared at Harrison and Adeline, her fingers tightly clutching her shirt. She looked so pitiful.

After all, she was still a little girl. Adeline's heart softened, and she walked over, flashing a gentle smile. "Don't be afraid. Come on in."

Her smile was warm and welcoming.

As Adeline reached out her hand, Alondra shyly placed her little hand into hers.

Adeline led her into the room and then told the bodyguard to keep an eye on Britney and make sure she didn't cause trouble. After that, she closed the door.

Alondra couldn't help but sneak glances at

Harrison.

She remembered him. He was the man who came to her house that day.

And, he was her brother. Although, he was a brother she'd never met before.

Suddenly, Alondra recalled a time when she saw other kids with older brothers who treated them with so much care. She'd been so envious. That was when she'd asked her father why she didn't have a brother.

At that moment, her father's expression changed completely.

Then, it was her mother who came and picked her up, whispering something to her father, and he calmed down.

Now, she finally had a brother.

But something about it all still didn't feel quite right.

She was only seven, and while she understood some things, there was still so much she couldn't make sense of.

"Come sit down," Adeline said softly.

Alondra liked Adeline, so she obediently followed Adeline to the sofa and sat down.

She didn't sit too close to Harrison, though, because she was still a little scared of him.

So, she stayed close to Adeline instead.

"Why did you come to see him?" Adeline asked.

Alondra cautiously glanced at Harrison and began to remember what her mother had told her.

After a short pause, she stammered, "I... I'm your sister. So, I want to ask... ask you to let... let our family go... Let us leave..."

At first, Harrison should have been angry at those words.

But instead, he couldn't feel any anger. In fact, he almost wanted to laugh.

Alondra was just so cute.

And she was stammering, clearly reciting something her mother had taught her. Yet, she was unaware of how obvious it was, her big eyes were focused so earnestly on him.

Harrison just couldn't get angry with a girl like that.

When Harrison smiled, Alondra felt a glimmer of hope and hurfiedly asked, "Can you let us go?"

Harrison softened his voice as he spoke.

But instead of answering her question, he asked, "Would you like some cake?"

Alondra's eyes instantly lit up, and she nodded eagerly.

She loved sweets, but these past few days, her parents had only been able to buy random food from outside. She wanted something sweet but didn't dare ask. Her parents had been sighing a lot and sometimes even arguing.

Alondra was just an ordinary little girl, and she couldn't resist the temptation of a delicious treat.

Harrison made a call, ordering a cake and some snacks to be delivered.

Meanwhile, Adeline kept chatting with Alondra, asking about her school and distracting her.

They all knew that some things were too complicated to explain to a little kid.

The best they could do was make her feel less scared.

Soon, the cake and snacks arrived.

Alondra's focus immediately shifted to the food, and and for a moment, she forgot all about the things Britney had told her to do.

In another room, Britney waited anxiously.

She'd just had an idea-sending Alondra to plead with Harrison.

After all, Alondra was his blood relative. She might be able to reach him.

Maybe he'd feel something for her.

But after almost an hour had passed, there was still no sign of Alondra returning.

"Could something have happened to her?"

Britney thought.

"No, surely not. Harrison is the head of the Thomson family, after all. He won't harm a littie girl. Even if she is a stranger, he won't do such a thing, let alone his own half-sister. Maybe they were just chatting," Britney thought again.

Britney hoped the child would be brave enough.

Right now, she felt like Edward was no longer reliable.

Alondra was her only hope.

Even if she couldn't let them leave, at least she could get Alondra into the Thomson family.

Just then, the door opened.

Britney turned quickly, thinking it was Alondra.

But instead, it was a dejected-looking Edward.

Her face immediately fell, and she gritted her teeth. "So you decided to come back, huh? | thought you were so busy chatting with your old lover that you'd forgotten about me."

"Can you stop speaking so harshly?" Edward snapped. "What do you mean 'old lover'? She was my wife."

"Am I not your wife?"

"You are. Of course, you are." Edward said impatiently. "She's already told me she wants a divorce. We'll go back to Orianto to handle the paperwork. Once it's done, we'll be done for good. Are you happy now?"

At first, Edward's tone made Britney furious, and she was about to argue.

But as soon as she heard those words, her eyes brightened.

"Is that true? She really said she wants to divorce you?"

"Yes," Edward replied. "Her attitude is clear. She doesn't want anything to do with me anymore."

He'd just had a long conversation with Myra.

He'd told her everything-how he'd met Britney in Mugroaton; how he'd fallen in love at first sight; and how he faked his death and ran away with her, changed his name to Elliot, and moved to Yewhaina.

He also talked about their life over the past decade and their daughter, Alondra.

And Myra had told him about everything that had happened with the Thomson family.

After hearing it all, Edward couldn't quite figure out what he was feeling.

But there was one thing he suddenly realized-he was homesick.
