One night stand with my president(chapter 292)

Chapter 292: I'll Support You

Overjoyed, Isaac quickly headed into the hospital room. "Really?"

The doctor arrived soon after.

However, after examining Alberto, the doctor said there was no indication he was about to wake up.

"How could that be?" Gracie said, disappointed.

"Just now, while I was talking with Adeline, I clearly saw Alberto's finger move."

The doctor thought for a moment and said, "It's possible that Alberto was responding to what you were discussing. Talking to him more often might help him wake up sooner."

Gracie pondered and then said, "Yes, when Adeline was talking about her childhood, I think Alberto must have felt for her. He felt sorry hearing about his sister's hardships..."

Hearing this, the doctor and the nurse gave Adeline a surprised look.

They knew Adeline as Harrison's assistant.

They were also familiar with the Mendoza family.

But they had never heard that Adeline was Alberto's sister.

They felt like they had just stumbled upon a massive revelation.

After the doctor and nurse left, Isaac checked the time and told Adeline and Harrison, "It's late. You two should go get some rest."

"Once we get the results, I'll let you know immediately," Gracie said, holding Adeline's hand.

"But don't be too anxious, dear. I just feel that you must be my daughter."

Adeline felt her eyes sting slightly, and she nodded.

"It's really cold outside now, probably colder than it was when you arrived. Your coat seems a bit thin. You'll catch a chill," Gracie said with worry as she looked at Adeline's coat. "Let me get another coat for you."

"No need," Adeline replied quickly. "This coat looks thin, but it's actually really warm. I won't feel cold at all."

"How could you not feel cold in the dead of

winter?"

Gracie still thought Adeline must be chilly, so she insisted on getting her a new coat to wear.

Looking down at the coat she was now wearing, Adeline was reminded of her school days in winter when her mother would do the same.

Even when she was warm enough, her mom would worry she was cold, insisting on wrapping another scarf around her.

Adeline felt a pang of emotion.

Isaac and Gracie walked them all the way to the hospital entrance.

"Head back inside," Adeline said. "It's cold out."

"It's fine. We'll go back once you get into the car."

Not wanting them to freeze, Adeline quickly got into the car, rolled down the window, and waved to them.

Only then did they turn and walk back into the hospital, glancing back with each step.

Harrison intended to send Adeline home.

But Adeline said, "Let's just find a nearby hotel."

She wanted to get back to the hospital early the next morning.

The idea of finding her birth parents had left her mind in a bit of a whirl.

But one thing was certain, which was she was genuinely happy.

Since her mother's passing, Adeline had hardly felt the warmth of family.

Lacey had given her a taste of it, but Lacey had her own family to attend to, so she couldn't always be there for Adeline.

Now, Adeline finally had a family.

There were plenty of hotels around the hospital.

Harrison chose one with the best environment and booked two rooms.

In the elevator, Adeline glanced at him and suddenly said, "You seem a bit off today."

"Oh?" Harrison smiled. "How so?"

"You didn't talk much," Adeline said.

Harrison used to be reserved and aloof.

But ever since their relationship had deepened, he had been more open around her.

Yet tonight, he was uncharacteristically quiet.

Of course, he responded to everything she said, but something still felt different.

When the elevator doors opened, they stepped out together, and Adeline said again, "I've probably been too excited and missed something. Is there something on your mind?"

"You're overthinking it," Harrison said. "I just didn't want to disrupt your excitement."

Adeline rolled her eyes, saying, "Don't give me that. You're definitely hiding something." By then, they had reached her room.

Harrison's room was right next door.

"Get some rest," Harrison said.

But Adeline held onto his wrist.

"You're definitely holding something back. Tell me what it is," Adeline said.

Harrison sighed lightly.

He gently brushed her hair back.

"Whatever choice you make, I'll support you,

Adeline," he said softly.

His soft words made her a bit dazed.

Before she could react, he had gently nudged her into her room and shut the door.

Adeline stood in her room, dazed for a moment before she regained her senses.

Thinking over what Harrison had said, she felt as though she understood.

He had said he would support her, no matter her decision.

Adeline thought, "He must be talking about my choice after reuniting with my birth parents."

She had been so wrapped up in the joy of potentially finding her family that she had overlooked something significant.

The Mendoza family was based in Yewhaina.

If Isaac and Gracie were indeed her biological parents, then after the reunion, Adeline might need to move to Yewhaina.

They were currently in the country because

Alberto was still in the hospital.

But once Alberto woke up, they would surely return to Yewhaina.

Even if Alberto didn't wake up, they would still find a way to bring him back to Yewhaina.

The Mendoza family's foundation was in Yewhaina. It wouldn't be easy to relocate.

After reuniting with her birth parents, Adeline would want to be with them.

But if she went to Yewhaina, Adeline would be leaving everything here.

And she might have to leave Harrison.

Just thinking about it filled Adeline's heart with a gnawing pain.

She had once believed she could never be with Harrison.

But now, with their mutual feelings revealed, this new hurdle had emerged.

At the moment, Adeline wasn't ready to make a choice.

Adeline had a restless night and woke up early.

When she opened her eyes, she saw a message from Joyce.

Joyce told her she was safe and on her way to her destination. She would reach out again once she was settled, reassuring Adeline not to worry.

Adeline messaged her back, urging her to be careful.

Then, she noticed a message from Harrison.
