One night stand with my president(chapter 309)

Chapter 309: Quite Satisfied With Him

Since Alberto had just woken up, the doctor had instructed that he shouldn't talk too much.

So after a while, Gracie urged Alberto to lie down and rest.

Not long after lying down, Alberto fell asleep. To avoid waking him, everyone quietly left the room.

It wasn't like when Alberto was in a coma.

Back then, they could stay in the room and chat, hoping their voices would help him wake up.

Now that Alberto was merely asleep, they naturaily couldn't risk disturbing him.

"It's late now. You two should find a hotel to rest," Gracie said to Adeline, her voice full of concern. "You must be exhausted after all this back and forth today."

Adeline was indeed very tired.

Earlier, she had been too excited about Alberto waking up to feel sleepy.

But now, her eyelids were growing heavy.

"Isaac, Gracie, you two haven't rested well lately either. Why don't you come with us to the hotel?" Harrison suggested.

"That's right. Now that Alberto is awake, you can relax a little and get a proper night's sleep. We'll come back together in the morning," Adeline added.

Gracie gave Harrison a meaningful look.

His form of address had changed. He was now calling them by their names, instead of Mr and Mrs. Mendoza.

"Alright, we'll go to the hotel too," Gracie said with a smile. "Now that Alberto's awake, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I really do want to rest properly tonight."

"Then let's go..."

Adeline opened her mouth to call them "Mom" and "Dad," but the words wouldn't come out.

For the past couple of days, she had been trying to get used to it.

After all, "Mom" and "Dad" were very different from other titles; it wasn't easy to say them naturally.

It wasn't that she was unwilling. She just needed time to adjust.

Gracie noticed and smiled, holding Adeline's hand. "It's fine. Take your time. No matter what, we're family."

Finding their long-lost daughter was enough to make them happy.

The rest didn't matter to them.

Adeline nodded and hugged Gracie.

The affectionate gesture delighted Gracie.

Since the hotel was close to the hospital, they decided to walk there instead of driving.

Gracie and Adeline walked ahead, arm in arm, while Isaac and Harrison followed a short distance behind them.

"You went to Castlewill Manor today for Mr.

Thomson, didn't you?" Gracie asked. "Do you like him?"

Adeline hadn't expected her to ask so directly.

But she had no reason to hide anything from her mother, so she nodded.

Gracie smiled but then sighed softly.

Adeline was now acknowledged by the Mendoza family, but before this, she had come from an ordinary family in the eyes of others.

And the Thomson family was a prestigious, powerful family.

"When Adeline liked Harrison before, she must have suffered in silence," Gracie thought.

However, Adeline didn't feel that way.

Back then, when she quietly liked Harrison, she had always believed there was no possibility between them.

Because she had been so clear-headed about it, she hadn't been too upset.

Later, as she grew closer to Harrison, she slowly realized that he liked her too.

Although they had experienced many misunderstandings and conflicts along the way, Adeline had gradually come to see his sincerity.

So she didn't see any point in dwelling on the past. It would only cause unnecessary worries.

Besides, given how he treated her now, she could punish him however she wanted, and he'd gladly accept it.

"Mr. Thomson really is a good match for you," Gracie said. "To be honest, I'm quite satisfied with him as my son-in-law."

Adeline's ears turned slightly red.

"It's too early to be calling him that. We're not there yet," Adeline said.

"You like him, and he likes you. Calling him that in secret isn't too far-fetched," Gracie said with a laugh. "Adeline, remember this: no matter what you're feeling, we'll always support you. Now that we've reunited, your family will always be your strongest backing."

Warmth surged in Adeline's heart.

"I know."

Behind them, Isaac and Harrison were talking about business matters.

Harrison had thought Isaac would bring up his relationship with Adeline.

But unexpectedly, Isaac only discussed business topics with him.

In truth, when Adeline had hurried off to see Harrison earlier, Isaac had already seen things clearly.

To Adeline, Harrison was very important.

Since that was the case, Isaac decided not to say much more.

After all, his daughter had been separated from them for so many years. To him, the most important thing now was to make it up to her.

As for her romantic life, it was better to let her make her own decisions.

Adeline was so exhausted that she fell asleep the moment she got to her hotel room.

Perhaps because Gracie had called Harrison

"son-in-law" earlier, Adeline dreamed about their wedding.

In her dream, she wore a white wedding gown, holding a bouquet of flowers as she walked down the aisle with Isaac by her side.

Harrison stood at the front, waiting for her.

She wanted to hurry to his side.

But the aisle grew longer and longer.

She walked so much that she felt exhausted.

In the end, she still couldn't reach Harrison.

Adeline woke up feeling tired.

The hotel curtains were excellent at blocking light, so for a moment, she thought it was still night. But when she checked her phone, it was already past 9 a.m. After walking all night in her dream, Adeline felt like she hadn't slept at all.

Thinking back to the dream, Adeline felt a little dazed.

Even though she and Harrison had confirmed their feelings for each other, she hadn't yet considered marriage. It still felt far off.

But one thing was certain: if she ever married, it would be to Harrison.

Her phone had several unread messages.

Isaac and Gracie had gone to the hospital first.

Harrison had texted that he had ordered breakfast for her. She just needed to call the front desk once she woke up. He mentioned that he had some business to attend to and would head back to Castlewill Manor after visiting Alberto.

There were also messages regarding work from her colleagues.

After replying, Adeline noticed a new message from Joyce.

Joyce had sent a few photos of the small town under the morning sun.

Adeline replied, "You lazy girl, you actually went hiking?"

Joyce didn't reply immediately, so Adeline moved Joyce didn't reply immediately, so Adeline moved on to check other messages.

That's when she noticed several missed calls on her phone.

All the calls had come in the middle of the night.

She had put her phone on vibrate before going to bed, and since she'd been so engrossed in her dream, she hadn't heard them.

The number was unfamiliar, and Adeline wondered who would call her so many times at that hour. Then she saw a series of text messages from the same number.

The messages were sent one after another.
