One night stand with my president(chapter 313)

Chapter 313: I'll Be Leaving

On her way to the hospital, Adeline called Harrison to tell him about Ronan's dinner invitation.

After she finished explaining, Harrison was silent for a moment before saying, "It seems that dinner won't happen."

"Why not?" Adeline asked quickly.

She could hear the heaviness in Harrison's tone.

"Rowen found someone," Harrison said,

"someone connected to Milania."

Adeline thought for a moment before asking,

"Could it be Collin?"

Collin was the mastermind behind the arson at Harrison's hotel back in Marifort City.

He also happened to be one of Milania's college classmates.

"Yes, it's him," Harrison confirmed. "Rowen said Collin is being hunted down. He's in a desperate state and fled to this area, where Rowen happened to come across him."

Adeline frowned. "He's being hunted?

Could it be Milania?"

"We haven't confirmed that yet, but it's very likely," Harrison replied.

Milania would obviously want to prevent Collin from falling into Harrison's hands and exposing her. So she might have decided to eliminate him altogether.

Realizing this, Adeline felt a sense of pity.

Collin wasn't a good person by any means.

But he had taken great risks to help Milania, only to end up being targeted by her.

She wondered what thoughts ran through his mind as he fled for his life.

"So, will you use him to expose Milania?" Adeline asked.

"That's the plan. But I haven't decided when to bring him to the Thomson family yet," Harrison said.

Collin had committed quite a few crimes.

And these were far more serious than what

Milania had orchestrated with Wyatt previously- serious enough that Ashton and Ronan wouldn't be able to take them lightly.

Harrison, despite his seemingly cold exterior, cared deeply about his family.

He didn't want them to endure more betrayal from Milania. But knowing the blow this would deal to them, Harrison hesitated.

Adeline understood what Harrison was thinking.

After some thought, she said, "Mr. Ronan's injuries are almost healed. Once he's fully recovered, take him there. It'll be Christmas soon, and I think they should at least have a peaceful holiday."

"Alright."

After discussing this matter, Harrison said,

"Everything's almost wrapped up here. I'll stay one last night and head back tomorrow."

"Okay," Adeline replied. "Just in time for the year-end bonus. I'll take you out for dinner!" Harrison chuckled softly. "That sounds great. I still remember how you promised to treat me ages ago, and it hasn't happened yet."

"Well, I've been busy!" Adeline tried to defend herself. "Once I get my year-end bonus, you can pick any place you like, and it's on me."

"You said it. No take-backs."

"Of course not. I won't go back on my word."

But as she said this, her voice dropped to a more somber tone.

"After dinner, though, I'll probably have to leave."

With the year-end bonus being distributed, the holiday break was just around the corner.

The Thomson Group had always been generous with vacation time during Christmas.

Adeline was going to Yewhaina to spend Christmas with the Mendoza family.

Harrison's heart sank heavily.

"You're going to Yewhaina?"

"Yes, for Christmas," Adeline replied.

Harrison wanted to say something, but the words caught in his throat.

He didn't want her to leave.

He was terrified that once she went to Yewhaina, she might never come back.

But he knew he couldn't stop her.

She had finally reunited with her family, and this would be their first Christmas together.

How could he deny her that?

So, despite the ache spreading in his chest, Harrison managed a smile and said, "Alright.

Have a great time in Yewhaina."

"I will."

After a pause, Adeline added, "I'll come back after New Year's. I haven't quit my job, so I' definitely return to work."

She knew what he was worried about.

This was her way of reassuring him.

Even though she hadn't figured out her long-term plans, she was certain she would return after the holidays.

Hearing this, Harrison let out a small breath of relief.

"Alright. You should eat dinner soon," Adeline said.

"You too."

"Got it."

Just as Adeline was about to hang up, Harrison said, "By the way, Theo Castro's new movie will have its promotional event the day after tomorrow. They re announcing the cast, and all the main actors will be there."

Eleanor was one of the leads in the movie.

"I've already spoken to Theo," Harrison added.

"Is he fine with us causing a scene at the event?" Adeline asked.

"Of course," Harrison said. "We've offered him plenty of benefits. Besides, a little

drama at the event will actually help promote his movie."

"Then I won't worry about it," Adeline said.

"Everything's ready on my end."

After signing her termination contract with the Thomson Group, Eleanor spent the entire afternoon crying at home.

Halle didn't dare approach her and stayed hidden in her own room.

The more Eleanor cried, the angrier she became.

Eventually, she decided to take it out on someone.

Since it was just her and Halle at home, Halle naturally became her target.

Eleanor stormed to Halle's door and began pounding on it.

"Come out! Get out here!"

At that moment, Halle had just received a message from Adeline.

She stared at the screen, gripping her phone tightly.

Just two more days, and she would finally be free from this hell.

Outside, Eleanor continued yelling. Halle deleted Adeline's message, forced herself to stay calm, and went to open the door.

As soon as she did, Eleanor slapped her across the face.

"What were you doing in there? I've been banging on this door forever. Why didn't you open it?"

Halle lowered her head submissively. "I'm sorry, Miss Fraser. I must have fallen asleep."

"Asleep? While I'm in such pain? You must be thrilled to see me like this, aren't you?" Eleanor screamed hysterically.

Halle knew she was just being used as a punching bag again.

But with the knowledge that Eleanor's downfall was imminent, Halle felt unusually calm today.

She sighed softly and said, "I didn't mean that, Miss Fraser. By the way, what would you like for dinner? I'll prepare it for you."

"Dinner? You think I can eat at a time like this?" Eleanor snapped and slapped her again. Halle kept her head down, silent and docile.

Eleanor, finding no satisfaction in venting her anger on Halle, turned to leave. But then her gaze dropped to Halle's chest.

"What's that?" she asked.
