One night stand with my president(chapter 331)

Chapter 331: They'll Reconcile Eventually

There was a first-class private suite for each passenger.

As soon as Adeline boarded, she wrapped herself in a blanket and lay down without speaking or moving.

Gracie peeked in and then left the room with a worried look.

"Adeline's not in a good mood," Gracie told Isaac.

"Do you think it's because of Mr. Thomson?"

Isaac's face darkened. "Do you even have to ask?"

Before they boarded the plane, they had already heard about Harrison's scandal.

Isaac was furious.

He knew Adeline liked Harrison. He supported her decision to be with someone she loved.

He'd done his homework on Harrison and found his personal life spotless.

Most wealthy men, especially heirs from prominent families, were surrounded by women, sometimes changing partners daily.

But not Harrison.

Harrison had always been disciplined and clean.

So Isaac had been reassured by this.

But now, Harrison had gone and checked into a hotel with another woman?

It was an outright betrayal of Adeline.

If Gracie hadn't stopped him and reminded him they had a flight to catch, Isaac would have marched over to confront Harrison himself.

"What do we do now?" Gracie sighed. "They were already at odds, and now they'll be apart. Adeline hasn't said anything, but I can tell she's deeply hurt."

"What's there to worry about?" Isaac said.

"Adeline is beautiful and brilliant. She doesn't need Harrison. Once we get home, she'll meet plenty of fine young men. She can take her pick. And didn't Mr. Hunter come to see her off? He's just as good as Harrison, if not better." Gracie gave him a reproachful look. "Have you forgotten how Adeline was caught up in the Hunter family's drama just a few days ago? Besides, it doesn't matter how great someone is if Adeline doesn't like them."

"Feelings can grow," Isaac insisted. "Either way, I can't let Adeline stay with someone who breaks her heart. I didn't spend so long finding my daughter just to let some man hurt her."

Gracie agreed with that sentiment but felt there must have been some misunderstanding.

She thought, "Unfortunately, they are so stubborn. Even if there was a misunderstanding, they wouldn't clear it up right away. "

Russell had learned by chance that Adeline was flying to Yewhaina with the Mendoza family today.

After everything that had happened recently, he decided to see her off.

He also had his reasons. He wanted to see her one more time.

He didn't know when she'd return after this trip.

He had expected Harrison to be at the airport, but surprisingly, he didn't see him.

When Russell saw Adeline, he immediately understood.

On the surface, she seemed fine, but he could tell she was hurting.

He liked her. Of course, he could read her emotions.

Russell realized she was probably still upset with Harrison.

His feelings were conflicted.

On one hand, Harrison was his rival. If Adeline stayed angry with Harrison, it would work in his favor.

But he couldn't feel happy about it. He hated seeing her sad.

He wanted to say something to comfort her, but it wasn't his place to interfere in their relationship. In the end, he simply wished her a safe journey.

Adeline smiled politely at him.

Even that brief smile was enough to satisfy him.

After she entered the airport, Russell lingered for a while before turning to leave.

As he turned, he noticed a car across the street driving away.

The car looked familiar.

If he wasn't mistaken, it was Harrison's.

Russell thought, "So, he has come after all."

A wave of jealousy washed over Russell.

He knew that even though Adeline and Harrison were fighting now, they would eventually reconcile.

They had feelings for each other.

Two people who truly cared about each other couldn't stay mad for long.

Russell smiled bitterly.

It seemed his fate was to always be close to Adeline but never with her.

Pushing his feelings aside, he got into his car just as his phone rang.

It was one of his uncles from the Snider family.

Russell answered indifferently, "What is it?"

"Russell, something's happened!" his uncle said, panicked. " The commercial street where we have our stores was suddenly bought out yesterday. And this morning, someone came to tell us we had to clear out immediately. What's going on?"

Russell tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, letting out a cold laugh.

"What's going on? You should ask Jasmine. Ask her what she did to offend someone."

The Snider family was his mother's side of the family, so Russell had refrained from dealing with them directly.

But just because he held back didn't mean others would.

Jasmine had schemed against him and Adeline, forgetting that Adeline was close to Harrison. Did she really think Harrison would let her off? Of course not.

The Snider family operated several stores on a bustling commercial street.

All these stores existed because of Jasmine's connections.

The Snider family had once been prominent, but after Russell's great-grandfather's generation passed, their fortunes waned.

When his mother was alive, they relied on her. Now, they relied on Jasmine.

Without Jasmine, they wouldn't have been able to secure such prime real estate.

In return, they gave Jasmine a significant portion of their earnings each year.

But now that Jasmine had made an enemy of Harrison, the Snider family was paying the price.

"We didn't know!" his uncle cried. "What do we do now? Without these stores, how will we survive? Russell, you can't just abandon us. We're family!"

Russell's expression remained cold.

He still remembered how the Snider family had rushed to comfort and support him after his mother's death.

But when Rogelio announced his intention to

marry Jasmine, their attitudes changed.

When Russell opposed the marriage, they took turns persuading and criticizing him, calling him immature and disrespectful for meddling in adult matters.

Russell knew they feared Rogelio might marry someone else who wouldn't tolerate them.

Since Rogelio favored Jasmine, they were eager to support the union.

Nobody cared about how young Russell felt.

To them, it was all about benefits, not family.

They had abandoned him to align themselves with Jasmine.

And now that Jasmine was in trouble, they had the audacity to plead for his help.

  4. That's how people are, only for their own feelings and gains. But not for others own and too bad it should be equally shared to make a much peaceful gain when in trouble or in pains.
