Chapter 293: Silly Man
"Let me know when you wake up." Harrison had sent the message half an hour ago.
And it was only six in the morning now.
He was up this early.
They'd arrived at the hotel very late last night.
Adeline wondered if he had stayed up all night.
Adeline frowned and decided not to call him, worried he might be asleep now.
Instead, she sent him a message. "Did you stay up all night?"
Harrison replied instantly, "No, I slept. Just woke up early."
Relieved, Adeline replied, "Want to grab breakfast together?"
After a pause, Harrison responded, "I've already left the hotel. I arranged breakfast for you. I'll have them send it up now that you're awake."
Startled, Adeline sat up quickly and called him.
"What's wrong?" Harrison picked up promptly.
"Why did you leave so early?" Adeline asked.
"My mom called, asking me to come by the family," Harrison said gently. "Nothing serious. Don't worry."
Adeline lowered her eyes, saying, "I think I know why you weren't happy yesterday."
Harrison was silent for a moment before replying, "I wasn't unhappy. Don't feel pressured. After breakfast, go to the hospital. I also arranged for clean clothes to be sent up, and they'll arrive with your breakfast."
"Okay."
"And you don't need to come to work the next few days," Harrison said. "I'm giving you some time off."
He figured she'd need some extra time with her parents over the next few days.
After hearing that, Adeline felt a pang of mixed emotions.
She knew he was thinking about her.
He had.considered everything.
"What about the soft opening at Castlewill Manor, tomorrow?" Adeline asked. "We had planned to stay there for a few days."
"I'll go on my own," Harrison said gently.
"Don't worry. If there's anything urgent, I'll call and ask you to come help."
Despite his words, Adeline knew he wouldn't actually call her.
No matter how busy he got, he wouldn't disturb her during this time.
"Harrison," Adeline called his name softly.
"Yes?"
"You're silly."
Harrison chuckled, saying, "You've got some, nerve, calling me silly."
Adeline laughed at his playful tone.
"Alright. Hurry back to the family, then.
I'll head to the hospital after breakfast."
"Alright."
Hanging up, Adeline lightly patted her cheeks and went to wash up.
Not long after she finished getting ready, there was a knock at the door.
She opened it to find a small, round robot waiting outside.
The robot had a large, flat head with breakfast arranged on top, along with a bag likely containing her clothes.
Adeline took the breakfast and clothes, and the robot turned and glided away.
The breakfast included coffee, sandwiches, porridge, and bread.
Last night at the Monroe family, she had been too focused on comforting Joyce's parents to eat much.
Now, feeling genuinely hungry, Adeline finished everything.
Then she changed into the fresh clothes that had been sent over.
They were exactly her size, fitting perfectly.
But she still wore the coat Gracie had given her the day before, and after gathering her things, she headed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Harrison had returned to the Thomson family.
Lorenzo was surprised to see him just as breakfast was being served.
"Harrison, back so early this morning?"
"I wanted to check on you and have breakfast together," Harrison replied.
Lorenzo chuckled, saying, "Really? I thought you'd be too busy basking in the joys of romance to spare a thought for me."
Before Harrison could respond, Myra came down the stairs.
Seeing him, Myra was just as surprised.
"Harrison, why are you back this early?"
"Just came for breakfast," Harrison said.
It wasn't Myra who had called him back.
He simply wanted Adeline to fully enjoy her family reunion without being reminded of any difficult decisions.
So he'd said his mother had asked him to return.
And he did want to check on his family, so he went with it and drove over.
Myra looked at him and thought, "Coming all the way back just for breakfast? That didn't seem like something Harrison would typically do."
Myra sat at the dining table and couldn't help but ask, "Did you and Miss Hensley have a fight?"
Hearing that, Lorenzo perked up, listening intently.
"No," Harrison said.
"Then what's going on?"
Myra couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
Not wanting his family to worry, Harrison said, "Something did come up, but there's no conflict between Miss Hensley and me. Don't worry. Once everything's settled, I'll tell you about it."
"As long as there's no fight," Lorenzo said.
"Miss Hensley's a wonderful girl. You'd better cherish her."
"I know, Grandpa”, Harrison said quietly.
It was precisely because he cherished her that he wanted to let her choose her own path and avoid putting her in a tough position.
After hearing this, Myra surprisingly didn't press him or bring up any other girls.
Lorenzo was a bit taken aback by Myra's uncharacteristic silence on the topic.
He glanced at Harrison, his look asking, "What's going on?"
Harrison merely smiled, not elaborating.
But Lorenzo understood. It seemed Myra had. finally stopped interfering in Harrison and Adeline's relationship.
If that was the case, maybe Lorenzo could start hoping for great-grandchildren.
Feeling quite pleased with the news, Lorenzo continued eating.
After breakfast, Harrison went to visit Ronan.
Arriving at Ashton's house, he first ran into Ronan's father, Ashton.
Ashton looked noticeably more worn out than before.
Harrison knew how much Ashton had cared for Milania.
When exposing Milania's actions, Harrison had considered Ashton's feelings.
But someone like Milania, if allowed to deceive Ashton further, would only hurt him more deeply in the end.
It was better for him to see her true colors now and break away.
"Ashton," Harrison greeted. "Good morning.'
At first, Ashton hadn't noticed him.
Hearing Harrison's voice, he looked up.
"Harrison, good morning," Ashton replied.
"Did you come back last night?"
"This morning," Harrison said. "Where's Ronan?"
"Still having breakfast," Ashton said.
Harrison nodded, saying, "'ll go see him." Hearing that, Ashton hesitated slightly.
