Chapter 326: Harrison, Stop

The man and woman leading the group were

Rowen and Georgia.

Hearing Manuel's words, Rowen smiled faintly and said, "Oh, we know. It's exactly because you're that nephew that we invited you over. If you weren't, we wouldn't have bothered."

Manuel was at a loss for words.

He thought, "Seriously? This is what they call an invitation? It's clearly an abduction!"

"Who are you people, and what do you want?" Manuel asked, trembling with fear.

"Us? We're just righteous warriors upholding justice... Ow! Why did you kick me?" Rowen said.

Before Rowen could finish his self-introduction, Georgia had delivered a sharp kick to his leg.

Rowen immediately turned to glare at her.

"Why are you wasting time?" Georgia said expressionlessly. "Just ask your questions and get it over with."

"Fine, you do it then," Rowen muttered, rubbing his aching leg.

"I won't," Georgia replied. "I might not know how to hold back."

Manuel didn't know what to say.

He was genuinely on the verge of tears.

"Don't be scared," Rowen said with a disturbingly friendly tone. "Just tell us the truth, and we'll let you go right away."

"What do you want me to say?" Manuel stammered, his whole body shaking.

"Tell us the truth about what happened with Jasmine today."

Manuel swallowed hard.

He had already guessed this was what they wanted to ask about. It was, after all, the biggest event of the day.

But he had no idea whose people these were.

"What would happen to me if I didn't tell the truth?" Manuel thought.

Seeing Manuel's conflicted expression, Rowen smirked and said, "Stop overthinking. Be a good boy and spill everything, and you won't have to suffer."

As he finished speaking, two large men approached, each holding an intimidatingly thick and long wooden stick.

Just looking at those sticks, Manuel could imagine the pain they'd inflict if they hit him.

Tears streamed down his face in terror.

Jasmine said she'd have his back.

While she was crying in Rogelio's arms, he was left to deal with this mess alone.

Manuel was nothing but a coward. He was good at flirting, but when faced with real danger, all he could do was panic.

Before Rowen could say more, Manuel blurted out, "It was my aunt. She ordered me to do it.

She told me to approach Miss Hensley's colleague and lure Miss Hensley out. She knew Russell liked Miss Hensley, and she said that would bring him to Jasmine. Then she could frame Russell for causing her miscarriage." Rowen was momentarily speechless.

Honestly, he hadn't expected it to be this easy.

Manuel spilled everything right away.

"So if you're looking for someone, go after Jasmine! I was just following orders," Manuel. added, curling up like a quivering bird.

Just then, a woman's voice cut through the air.

"Pathetic. How did I not realize before that you're such a coward?"

Manuel froze.

Looking up, he saw Anna step out from behind the two burly men, her face full of disdain.

Manuel's pride felt like it had been stabbed.

If it had been anyone else, he could have endured it, but this was his former girlfriend.

Even if it was all an act, he couldn't stand losing face in front of her.

If he had known, he'd have preferred to be beaten instead.

"Did you get it all recorded?" Georgia asked.

"Of course," Anna replied. "I already sent the video to Miss Hensley."

"You're working for Mr. Thomson?" Manuel asked hesitantly.

No one bothered to answer him.

A few cars were parked nearby.

Everyone got into the vehicles, leaving Manuel alone.

Worst of all, his car was gone-no doubt taken by them.

Manuel looked around in panic.

This was the middle of nowhere. "How long would it take me to get home on foot?" he thought, feeling helpless.

Adeline showed the video Anna sent her to Russell.

"This video can be sent to Mr. Hunter," Adeline said. "It'll prove your innocence."

Russell remained silent for a moment before letting out a bitter laugh. "He won't believe it."

Even if Rogelio saw the video, Jasmine could easily claim Manuel was lying, and Rogelio would side with her.

Russell understood this all too well.

Adeline nodded in understanding and said nothing further.

Russell took a deep breath and turned to Harrison. "Thank you."

It was Harrison who had sent people to question Manuel and uncover the truth.

Regardless, it was a favor Russell couldn't ignore.

Sure, he could have done it himself, but his mind was a mess right now.

While he resented Rogelio and Jasmine and had kept his distance from them, he had never intended to harm them.

But Jasmine had schemed against him, and Rogelio didn't trust him.

It was almost laughable.

"No need to thank me," Harrison said indifferently.

As he spoke, he rolled up his sleeves.

Then, before Adeline or Russell could react,

Harrison punched Russell squarely in the face.

Russell fell to the ground from the force.

"Harrison!" Adeline exclaimed in shock. "Are you crazy?"

Harrison ignored her, grabbing Russell by the collar and pulling him up.

"You can't handle your family's mess, fine. But dragging her into it? What are you going to do about that? Huh?" Harrison growled.

He raised his fist to strike again.

Adeline rushed forward, grabbing his arm tightly.

"Harrison, stop!"

Harrison wanted to land a few more punches, but with Adeline blocking him, he was forced to let go.

And Harrison would see that Adeline was really angry.

He exhaled sharply, released Russell, and instead grasped Adeline's wrist.

"We're leaving," he said.

But Adeline pulled her hand away and turned to Russell. "I'm sorry, Mr. Hunter."

Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, Russell replied, "I should be the one apologizing to you."

Harrison was right. It was his fault Adeline got caught up in his family's mess.

If he hadn't let Jasmine discover his feelings for Adeline, she wouldn't have used Adeline as part of her scheme.

He didn't fight back because he deserved the punches.

Adeline shook her head. "You're a victim too." Harrison reached for her hand again, but Adeline avoided him, shooting him a glare.
