One night stand with my president(chapter 277)

 Chapter 277: You're My Idol

For a moment, Eleanor wanted to disregard everything and directly go head-to-head with Adeline.

But remembering Benjamin's grim face, Eleanor immediately forced herself to suppress the thought.

So, she took a deep breath and, unwillingly, said, "I'm sorry."

Hearing her actually apologize, Adeline was even more surprised.

When she asked Eleanor to apologize to Isaline, she was fully prepared for an argument.

She hadn't expected Eleanor to apologize so obediently, although she looked extremely reluctant.

Eleanor thought, "Since when did Eleanor become so easygoing? No, it isn't that she is easygoing; it seems more like she is afraid of me."

"I've already apologized. Can we consider this matter closed?" Eleanor asked with a sullen look.

She had come looking for someone to

vent her anger on, yet now, she was even angrier.

"Yes, we can," Adeline said, "but there's one more thing l'd like to say to you."

She walked over to Eleanor and whispered, "I forgot to mention, Miss Bonner is a close friend of Mr. Ronan Thomson. You know who Ronan is, don't you?"

Adeline knew well that Eleanor wasn't someone who would truly learn to respect others.

The only thing that mattered to her was power.

Sure enough, Eleanor's expression changed instantly at Adeline's words.

Eleanor thought, "This seemingly ordinary employee was actually friends with Ronan? How could that be? But Adeline wouldn't lie about something like this..."

In an instant, Eleanor became even more anxious.

Although Ronan's status in the Thomson family was nowhere near Harrison's, he was still from the Thomson family.

Now that she had offended Ronan's friend, she had just created a future problem for herself.

Eleanor was filled with regret.

Adeline then turned to Braydon and said, "You can continue your discussion. I'll be on my way."

"Alright, Miss Hensley," Braydon said.

Isaline followed Adeline out of the meeting room.

As soon as they stepped outside, Isaline said excitedly, "Miss Hensley, you're amazing! You managed to get even someone like Eleanor under control. You're my idol!"

Adeline shook her head with a wry smile and said, "Actually, Eleanor wasn't like this before. I don't know what's gotten into her today."

"She probably respects you and is scared of you," Isaline replied simply. "Miss Hensley, I need to thank you. Without you, I would've definitely been bullied by Eleanor, and I might've even been fired!"

Adeline replied, "It was nothing. We're all part of the Thomson Group. As colleagues, I couldn't just stand by and watch someone make things difficult for you."

"Miss Hensley, you're too kind. No wonder..."

Isaline trailed off.

"What?" Adeline asked instinctively.

"Well, no wonder everyone in the company says you're wonderful," Isaline said.

She had actually wanted to say, "No wonder Ronan likes you so much."

But she felt it wasn't appropriate to say that here, so she held back.

Adeline smiled and said, "Next time you're in a similar situation, try to keep your cool. We shouldn't be bullied, but we also shouldn't put ourselves in harm's way. Think of a better solution if possible."

After all, there were plenty of difficult people in this world.

It's important to stand firm when necessary, but if they go head-to-head every time without assessing the situation, they might end up putting themselves at a disadvantaze, "Yes, I understand," Isaline said. "I was just so angered by Eleanor, Plus, "Besides, every time I see her on screen, I always thought she was such a good person. The reality turned out to be quite different."

Adeline said, "Alright, don't think too much about it. Get back to work."

"Alright!"

Adeline returned to the president's office to deliver some documents to Harrison.

As soon as she walked in, Harrison asked, "Winy are you back so late?"

"Ran into a small issue. It took a bit of time."

"What kind of issue?" Harrison asked.

Adeline hadn't planned on explaining

But seeing that Harrison seemed determined to get to the bottom of it, she briefly told him what had happened.

"Eleanor..." Harrison frowned slightly.

The Thomson Group would no longer be working with Eleanor.

From the first photo shoot, she had been causing trouble.

Working with an artist like that was just too exhausting.

"By the way, I thought Eleanor was acting strangely today," Adeline said. "She was especially polite to me. And when I asked her to apologize to Isaline, she actually did."

"Really?" Harrison was also a bit surprised.

His first reaction was the same as Adeline's.

Eleanor must be up to something.

But soon, he realized something.

"Yes, it was almost as if she was afraid of me," Adeline said, confused.

"It's not you she's afraid of," Harrison replied.

"She's afraid of Benjamin."

Adeline was speechless.

She had faintly sensed this just now.

But it was so unsettling that she hadn't wanted to dwell on it.

"Speaking of which, I just received some news," Harrison said. "Lance has returned to Mugroaton."

"That must be Benjamin forcing him to go back."

"Yes." Harrison nodded slightly.

"Then as for Eleanor... Could it be that she has some connection with Benjamin?"

"It's possible," Harrison said.

Adeline sighed softly.

The thought of being used as someone's substitute made her feel uncomfortable.

Harrison stood up, walked over to her, and said, "Don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt you again."

"I know. I just wonder who exactly Benjamin sees me as a substitute for?"

"Actually, I recently found a clue," Harrison said.

"Let me show you her profile."

He led Adeline to the sofa, pulled up a file on his phone, and showed it to her.

As soon as Adeline opened the file, she saw a photo.

For a moment, she almost thought the lady in the photo was herself.

"Wow, this lady looks like me!" Adeline exclaimed.

"Really?" Harrison didn't quite agree. "I think it's easy to tell the difference."

"I almost couldn't tell. And you can?"

"When I first saw the photo, I knew it wasn't you."

Adeline laughed and said, "That's only because you knew it wasn't me beforehand, so of course you could tell."

"And you knew I was showing you someone else's file," Harrison said.

Adeline was speechless.

That actually made sense.
